Hi!
Can I join you?
We’re going to start TTC early next year.

Pinkroseuk · 06/07/2018 21:26

@AssumeItWasSomethingClever I have PCOS but there not sure if it's that or something else- I have been told to loose he weight then they will take it from there. I came off the pill March 2017 and didn't get my first period till April 2018 when they gave me tablets to force it.
Will wait and see... the waiting is so hard though! Glad others are on there last lot of pills though :)

DoveGreylove · 06/07/2018 22:50

@cupcakesandglitter I can start trying September / October so I have a little while longer to wait. Getting really hard!

@Bubblemumma1 Welcome :) ! What are your reasons for waiting to TTC? Is it your first? I am waiting due to having a holiday in a moderate Zika area Angry...

Bubblemumma1 · 07/07/2018 01:24

Thank you DoveGreylove Smile
Oh you’ve just got a little longer to wait but you’re almost there. I can also see myself getting impatient as times goes on!

This will be #3. I have DS, almost 4yrs old and DD, almost 2yrs. My cycle has only just returned to a normal length last month, after returning not too long ago. I was a little out of touch and had to Google “What day do you ovulate?” a few days ago Blush

I’m going to read back and catch up on the thread!

Bubblemumma1 · 07/07/2018 01:26

@DoveGreylove
We’re waiting to TTC as I’d really like to have made progress with learning to drive. I’ve only had 1 lesson so far and we wanted to go for a 3yr age gap anyway so it makes sense that I try and get my license soon, rather than later.

PastaSauceHoarder · 07/07/2018 01:44

Hi all, hope its alright if I sneak in and join?
I'm currently waiting to ttc my second child and its driving me crazy!
Bit of back story: we conceived our first wonderful little surprise during the craziness of planning our wedding. Fast foward and our baby girl is now a year old and is our absolute sun, moon and stars - but I do so want to give her a sibling!
We discussed wanting a small age gap, and husband is well up for ttc another baby, but not until November. 🙄 So here I am and I hope I can join in with you all! I'm off to catch up on the thread. Wink

springsummerautumnwinter · 07/07/2018 23:36

Hi. Looks like there are a few new joiners, so thought I would join. I am waiting for my wedding in January to TTC. Also want to loose weight. I have lost a stone and want to lose at least a stone and a half more. Being healthy for baby is being more of a push than the wedding to honest! I am on medication so seeing the Dr Monday to see what they advise. It is exciting a few of you are so close.

Pinkroseuk · 08/07/2018 08:08

Welcome @Bubblemumma1 @PastaSauceHoarder and @springsummerautumnwinter :)

PastaSauceHoarder · 08/07/2018 12:10

Thanks @Pinkroseuk. Smile Its just nice to see that there are others in the same boat!

Trinnidad · 08/07/2018 23:32

Hi all, new here and not quite yet TTC but hopefully soon. I’m amazed everyone is so on top of their cycles - I’ve been on Microgynon since I was 18 (32 now). When I started on it I hadn’t had AF for a few months due to uni stress (Drs say I shouldn’t be concerned). We’re thinking Sep after our holiday. I have no idea what to expect or how It would be getting back into a cycle. Any hints?

KinCat · 09/07/2018 00:45

I started tracking my cycle maybe a week ago and think I just ovulated! Had the temperature drop then rise plus egg white cervical mucus! I was a bit worried as I do have some PCOS symptoms. Just hoping that I'm doing it properly.

We booked another diving holiday which helps stop my impatience to TTC. I'm very broody but also love diving and it will have to be put on hold while we try and I guess when the baby is little as well.

How's the weight loss going for everyone? I vowed to start a routine of going on the cross trainer every morning but only managed one day so far..

cupcakesandglitter · 09/07/2018 01:04

Hi @Bubblemumma1 @PastaSauceHoarder @springsummerautumnwinter @Trinnidad !!

@KinCat ahh that's good - hopefully you'll catch the trend now and will now exactly when to DTD when you start TTC!!

I've just done an hour long walk with DH, need to burn off the alcohol and desserts slowly but surely!!

OP posts:
KinCat · 09/07/2018 01:57

@Trinnidad I've been looking for answers to the same question myself but with the IUD. It seems everyone has a different experience. As a starting point I've bought a basal thermometer and started tracking my cycles to see if I ovulate etc so you could try that? Not sure how the pill you're on works - the Mirena iud stops periods but doesn't stop ovulation.

@cupcakesandglitter nice one on the walk! I really miss English countryside walks. I was super excited at the temp rise this morning and at the EWCM yesterday!

PastaSauceHoarder · 09/07/2018 09:53

I also don't have a clue where I am with my cycle! From having my first pregnancy to exclusively breastfeeding and having the copper coil in for ten months, I haven't had a period for almost two years! Confused
I had my coil removed last week though and only feed my daughter a few times a night now, so I've got my fingers crossed for af making an appearance soon.
@KinCat is the IUD the same thing as the copper coil? Sorry if thats a silly question!

KinCat · 09/07/2018 11:54

@PastaSauceHoarder the IUD is hormonal so not the same as the copper coil. I'm not sure how the copper coil works but the IUD prevents the womb lining from growing so nothing can implant.

What contraception are you using now you've had the coil out? I sort of want to get mine out and just be careful with timings, pulling out etc. but not sure how successful we'd be with that!

PastaSauceHoarder · 09/07/2018 12:12

Ah okay thanks for clearing that up. Smile I'm not using anything at the moment - its actually pretty liberating! We're planning on just going by timing and the pull out method (which I've told him is not 100% effective but he doesn't want to wear a condom, so hey ho! I'm secretly hoping it doesn't work anyway. Wink)

springsummerautumnwinter · 09/07/2018 15:28

I am on the mini pill at the moment and because of that I haven't had a period for 5years. How far in advance did you all come off contraception? TTC end of January.

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 09/07/2018 16:13

@Springsummerautumnwinter- I came off the pill in March (TTC in September/October) and I'm currently having quite long cycles. It can take a year for your cycles to settle down after hormonal contraceptives. I wish I'd come off the pill sooner.

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 09/07/2018 16:15

Sorry posted too soon!
Only you can say when you should come off and I suppose it depends on how you would react if you got pregnant before you want to. But you don't know until you come off it how your body is going to react.

Jxtina86 · 09/07/2018 17:18

Hi to all the new people! With regards to the pill - I finished my pill pack last Monday and just at the end of my withdrawal bleed. I've started doing my basal body temp each morning and tracking on Flo to get an idea between now and first true period. I think it really depends on your own body. I've done endless googling about coming off the pill and it ranges massively between cycles coming straight back to normal to people having long cycles to those who never got a period as they got pregnant straight away!

springsummerautumnwinter · 09/07/2018 18:10

Thanks for the responses Smile. It is tricky this TTC business, and we haven't even started😂. I have just got off the phone to my DR and am going to try to come off my migraine medication. She said if the need for them out-ways the small risk I can cary on taking them. But I want to try to come off before thinking of that route. I have been on them for years so it will be good to see how I get on. After I have got that medication sorted I will come of the pill so hopefully in the next month or 2.

Goostacean · 10/07/2018 01:44

I came off my pill as soon as we started TTC- we got lucky quite quickly. Had two unsuccessful cycles, then I met a friend’s baby and actually went back on my pill for a couple of weeks (I will never ever tell that to anyone except my DH IRL!), then stopped taking it again and happened to go on holiday where we had lots of time and inclination for DTD 😂

Not planning to stop using contraception this time around unless I’m sure I’d be happy to get pregnant immediately, but I can definitely see why one would do so.

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 10/07/2018 22:25

CD39 for me and no AF yet. Keep getting pangs of period pain but it’s not amounting to anything. 😫
