HidCat and MrsLCW fingers crossed for re-testing!!

KnitKitty so sorry to read this, it's really unfair. Sounds like you were amazing in cooking and hosting after a stressful week and bad news Flowers

RedRobin7 good work! Enjoy the holiday. Hopefully with a bit of luck and your sexy knickers 3 of you will fly back Grin

boboelephant 10 days, wow. You must be exhausted!!

Pancakes7 Good luck today, returning to work is hard. Hopefully you'll find it comforting to get some normality back.

I think I'm going to accept good advice and take a break this month. Including the chemical I haven't had a non-miscarriage cycle since February and I could do with a break for my sanity. DH was initially all for this (and pushing the hol back a week) but now seems unsure which is annoying! Hmm I'm trying to accept this will be a long road and racing to conceive won't help.

I think I'll start temping and opks though.

Cakelaur · 04/06/2018 08:45

Eek @HidCat .... like I always say... IMPLANTATION BLEED!! It was right for @Primrose16!!!

@Boboelephant I think you deserve a medal babe. But it'll be worth it!! You'll feel so much more relaxed in the TWW knowing you did everything you could. Have you been using preseed or and equivalent? Have you got pineapple core, progesterone? Etc ready for the TWW?! Ooh I'm so excited!!

SerenaOverjoyed · 04/06/2018 08:48

Any view on clearblue digi opk vs cheapies, beyond price? The CB looks idiot proof..

Boboelephant · 04/06/2018 10:27

@ek78 glad to hear you are feeling a bit more positive. I'm doing more exercise lately too and it definitely helps the PMA. I hope it happens soon for you hun.
@Pancakes7 hope today is going ok.
@SerenaOverjoyed it sounds like a good idea. Give yourself a break, it can be a marathon. Hopefully you will fall quickly with your sticky bean but it will help your mental state. Haha I am but will have to go again tonight as temp still hasn't risen. Another very positive opk last night so sure it will be today. Hopeful for temp rise tomorrow and then rest! 😂 I use the cheapies which are fine but you do have to be patient and let the line darken. I think temping helps as it confirms it so takes away some of the guesswork.
@Cakelaur thanks love I hope so. Fingers crossed the egg comes from my left side so easily gets to my tube and meets the little swimmers!! Yep been using fertility check gel and have the pineapple and fertility cream at the ready!! Just waiting for my temp rise!

ek78 · 04/06/2018 10:41

@serenaoverjoyed I like the cb tests because they are so simple to use (ie. idiot proof!). I tried the cheapies first but could never get a dark line. After my first mc, once my cycle got regular, I only needed to use four cb opks a month because I could tell pretty much when my fw was going to fall. So I liked how it was quite a short and self-contained process. I got pregnant again (sadly my 2nd mc) a few months after starting to use them. However this month has been the month of constant flashey smileys - which I think is down to it being my second cycle mc and so I probably didn't ov. I'm going to keep going with them on their own for one more month but if I get another funny cycle I'm thinking I might start temping to get a better understanding of what is going on. I think most people on here get on fine with the cheapies though? It might be a case of experimenting and seeing what works for you.

DaisyMay25 · 04/06/2018 10:45

@Boboelephant I'm CD7 so SMEP starts tomorrow. Gotta go for some scans today about my pain but probably won't get the results for a few weeks. Hopefully this isn't a long TWW for you!!

ek78 · 04/06/2018 10:52

Thank you @bobotheelephant - I hope it happens for you this cycle especially after all your efforts! I find the exercise really helpful and its nice to try and work on a goal (for me getting fitter and stronger) that is related too but not limited to ttc.
@pancakes7 hope it goes ok at work today.

zarala · 04/06/2018 11:06

Wow @Boboelephant 10/10 and going for 2 more! Good for you! My OH sounds like yours- he cannot wait to JKS on the daily.

@Pancakes7 hope today goes ok for you. As the other ladies have said, be kind to yourself and take as much time as you need/can

@SerenaOverjoyed i know how frustrating it is when you just wanna get pregnant right away- but I think giving our bodies some time to recover and let our hormones and uterus rest is never a bad thing. I have found these 3 months off have actually made it a bit easier for me- in the beginning I was crazy obsessed with getting pregnant but I was told by my doctor to stop for 3 cycles. (I had 3 consecutive MCs) and now that those 3 cycles have just ended I really feel like I'm in a much better mental state to do this,..

I am currently sitting in Dr Shehata's office waiting to get my results- very nervous! Wondering what he has found! And wondering whether he is going to give me the go ahead to TTC this month! Fw is coming up in a few days so I might be joining in on the JKS marathons! 😬

KeefBurtain · 04/06/2018 12:03

How does temping work? I’ve downloaded fertility friend and have been taking my temp every morning since Thursday, but what am I looking for? There seems so be big spikes despite my temp only being different by 0.4 degrees. I only have a digital ear thermometer, do I need a different one?

TTC after miscarriage Thread 21. JKS
Jessabean · 04/06/2018 12:14

Hi @KeefBurtain I'm still fairly new to temping but I believe you need to use an oral thermometer & I think should be a digital one which measures to like .02 of a degree - so like 36.41 - for example. You can buy ones especially for doing bbt online from Amazon I know. That and needs to be done first thing in the morning when you've just woken up. It can be really sensitive I've found even things like a change in sleep pattern or being slightly hungover at all can alter it loads!
Things you're looking for though are a slight drop in temp as you're reaching ovulation and then a good peak after ovulation which 🤞should stay high for you if you conceive. Temp tends to drop just before AF happens if it not. Also some people find they get a drop if pg around the time of implantation.
Think that's it basically- def all I know on temping anyway! Good luck with it for this cycle! 🤞 I've found it has been useful to give an idea of what's happening.

zarala · 04/06/2018 12:17

Hi guys
What is the most sensitive pregnancy test? Is it first response?
And what opks do you use?
I think I'm going to join u guys finally!
A bit nervous but I'm going to get the kit....
Any advice ? Thanks!

Jessabean · 04/06/2018 12:25

@zarala hope all goes ok for you! Let us know how you get on. Hope he gives you the go ahead for JKS!

@Boboelephant & @KnitKitty thank you. Find this group has been helping lots so definitely want to stick around and try and give any support where I can back. Thinking this TTC break will be good for me mentally & feeling at peace with it at the mo. @Boboelephant you've def done all you can & fingers crossed for you for a successful TWW outcome! @KnitKitty good luck for you entering your new cycle & I hope things become less stressful for you work wise. I can definitely relate in the trying to balance work stress with TTC stress and the separate stress that combo brings to the table in itself. Don't be afraid to take time off if you need it though- it is still quite early days from our mc's in March. Sending big hugs 🐧

HidCat · 04/06/2018 12:31

@Cakelaur spotting is now a bit heavier and red so I think I'm probably out. If it doesn't kick in fully though I'll test in Wednesday as planned just in case it's heavy implantation.

Lilimum4 · 04/06/2018 12:32

@KnitKitty hello hun sorry I didn't respond I've kind of been abit out of it since Friday. I'm all over the place. This scan today has knocked me down. Sonographer wouldn't tell me jack, but from the number of measurements and pictures she took I'm really worried. I also asked her if I ovulated because the opks showed very strong lines 5 days ago. She said it didn't look like it. So bummed now. Not sure what to do with my self now.

HidCat · 04/06/2018 13:00

@Lilimum4 have they given you a follow up appointment? I hope they give you answers soon.

Lilimum4 · 04/06/2018 13:03

@HidCat yes a week on Friday. Its gonna drive me nuts truely.

Anyday88 · 04/06/2018 13:10

I am trying my best not to symptom spot at 7dpo as it is still really early. However yesterday & today i have been going to the toilet for a no2 so many times. Not diarrhoea but just so many times a day. I thought it might have been something I'd eaten but I feel fine in myself.

Does anyone know if this is even an early pregnancy symptom? I know I am probably crazy and it is totally unrelated but 🤷🏼‍♀️

Fingers crossed for you @Hidcat.
Sorry you are feeling so rubbish @Lilimum4, hope you get some answers soon x

Pancakes7 · 04/06/2018 13:38

Thanks all for the good luck. Work is ok so far. Felt a bit wobbly this morning but busy which is good and no ones asked how I am as I think they all know I'm not ok...
@SerenaOverjoyed a break sounds like a good idea. Just relax and you may find the break gets your body relaxed enough for something to happen. I hope you enjoy your holiday.
@Anyday88 it's so hard not to symptom spot! I did it like crazy before my bfp. Very hard to not read into every little thing.

MrsGS76 · 04/06/2018 15:08

@KeefBurtain I've also been tracking my temp on Fertility freind and it's all over the place! I'm hoping if there is meant to be an increase it will be over 37 as mine have been between 36.2 - 36.8. I'm using a digital mouth one. But I think the main one to use is the IPK's , I'm using clearblue advanced which gives you 4 days . It's been negative yesterday and today. No CM yet? Fx for you xx
@zarala glad it appears you've been given the all clear to start again. I'm using clear blue advanced ovulation kit which gives you 4 days , eating pineapple daily especially for 1dpo - 5dpo) white knickers to track CM and look out for ovulation bleeding, and in the past I've used the clear blue digital pregnancy test. Also taking pregnacare pregnancy vitamins (left over from prev preg which resulted in mc) Any off course using DH as much as possible for his part!! X
Good luck and take care xx

Lightening quick post to say @keefburtain for TTC temping you need a basal thermometer, readily available on Amazon - and it's vital for accuracy that you check temp just as you wake up every morning; keep it by your bed!

www.amazon.co.uk/Fertility-Thermometers/b?node=2826718031&tag=mumsnetforum-21&ie=UTF8

KeefBurtain · 04/06/2018 16:03

Thanks, I’ve ordered the right thermometre now!

Boboelephant · 04/06/2018 17:17

@DaisyMay25 good luck with the SMEP. How did your scan go today?
@zarala how were your results??
@KeefBurtain and @MrsGS76 're temping. @Jessabean did a good summary! Main things- It's really important that you use a bbt thermometer and that you take temp as the first thing you do upon waking. No water, no talking etc. Also take it at the same time each day and if not possible within half hour. Those circles you have on ff rather than dots are because you are more than 30 min diff from one day to next. As a general rule pre ov temps are below 36.4 and post of above this. These can differ. Temping is brilliant to confirm ovulation but does not predict it. Opks are great to show you when ov is coming but you can ovulate up to 2 days after positive opk. Your temp generally spikes significant after ov so that confirms you ovulated the day before the temp spike. Ff will wait until you have had three temps in a row that are higher than the previous 6 temps to confirm ovulation. Hope that helps!

Boboelephant · 04/06/2018 17:32

Also...
@zarala frer are the most sensitive. Opks I use the Amazon cheapies- one step. I used to use CB but this is a long journey for me. I find the cheapies fine but you have to test more than once a day.
@Lilimum4 I'm so sorry it seems like bad news. And so rubbish they gave you no feedback. Hope Friday week goes ok.
@HidCat I hope it's just implantation!!!
@Anyday88 I hope it's a symptom for you. I'm a terrible symptom spotter and unfortunately it could be preg symptom and it could be af symptom. Ive had them all! Try and be patient a few more days.
@Pancakes7 I'm glad today went ok.

TedLife · 04/06/2018 17:41

@Pancakes7 hope you're doing ok, I remember that time off from work and feeling awkward when I returned. I decided not to tell them what it was and the doctor wrote me a note for something else but it was a lonely time. Hopefully you had a busy day and were able to put it out of your mind.

A colleague announced in our Monday morning meeting today that she was pregnant and it felt like a punch in the stomach all over again as i would probably have been telling them this morning about mine had it gone well. It's funny how it keeps coming back in unexpected ways.

AF just finished today so we'll start TTC from next weekend again. Just trying to look forward now and stop looking back.

L1zz13 · 04/06/2018 17:56

Sorry subject change bomb ...

Does anyone help feel super depressed after your mc?
I'm being proactive and have sought help. Got a counsellor that I'm trying out and a wonderful physio that treats me for stress/anxiety while she treats my joint problem.
I feel like all the joy has disappeared from my life! I force myself to carry on do the things I know I enjoy but it's all an act!
Some days are worse than others - today has been okay.

I think my last pg was it. Hubbo not really on board now. Although too frightened to discuss it with him properly. He doesn't do emotional stuff. It's not on his skills cv.
Got a real battle ahead of me I think.
