@CritterTamer I have never been tested for anything else.. last time I went to the drs a year ago ( god!!) she said just to chill and no mention of bloods came up.. perhaps I will make another appointment

CritterTamer · 10/06/2018 06:40

@Chatbash72 - if you’ve never had bloods tested for hormones then I would say definitely go and ask for FSH, LH and AMH tests (not sure you’ll get AMH done on the NHS as they don’t like paying for it but it’s definitely the best indicator of ovarian reserve, and if your OR is ok there’s bound to be some good eggs in there 😊 that’s how my gynae explained it to me anyway. If your cycles are vety regular then the chances are that hormones are ok too - if nothing it else it might set your mind at rest, it did for me. The difference for me is that I don’t actually know whether my body is even capable of getting pregnant as I’ve never had even a sniff of a BFP, so I needed to get internal scans done to check tubes are open, look for cysts etc.too, but at least you know that won’t be a problem 😊

Cleozeta · 10/06/2018 08:33

Welcome helbelle! And congrats on your bfp, I hope it sticks.

Chat - I've read that 2 mc if you are over 40 counts as reaccurent mc (as apposed to 3 for under 40) so you may get referred to a RMC. Personally I think it would be worth going, if they are understanding they may have tests they may do. I understand your worry about the dr going on about age and perimenopause, I had all that flung at me on many occasions, but they may also help you.

littlemimosa · 10/06/2018 08:33

Morning all.
Karigan and Chat - fingers are tightly crossed for a viable one.
Orchid - how you doing?
Critter - I have no idea about that condom lol!
Cleo - I so hope it’s not AF.
Weasle - how you feeling?
I’m feeling like you too. I’m really fed up. My cycles are going weird:( it just makes me feel like all hope is gone. I’m CD13 and not had any slight ovulation signs. This is unheard of for me but also getting scarily more common the last 6 months and especially bad since I had my HSG 3 months ago. It’s so odd. It also goes hand on hand with feeling ehem ‘dry’ and feeling hot at night in bed. It’s so depressing. I can’t hekp feeling now like it’s never going to happen. Other than ivf ive tried everything. Acupuncture, reflexology, yoga, herbs, every vitamin and supplement feasible. Before anyone says to test, yes I did to a pregnancy test after my last weird period and of course it was a stark white bfn. Sorry to moan on a Sunday morning.

littlemimosa · 10/06/2018 08:37

Oh no. Chat I’m so sorry I just realised I wrote ‘fingers crossed’ when that’s totally wrong. EEk. Sorry.
I’m sorry to hear it wasn’t to be for you:(
Sorry again. Probably menopausal!!

littlemimosa · 10/06/2018 08:37

Me not you! Oh dear, I’ll just go away now.....

weasledee · 10/06/2018 08:55

Ha ha little bad morning eh? Probably menopausal comment made me laugh out loud! Smile
I'm noticing small changes too, like this month I've felt like I was coming on for days where normally I get pains the day before....
Have you got any children if you don't mind me asking? At the moment I'm really thinking to pack this in and concentrate on them....

littlemimosa · 10/06/2018 09:04

THanks Weasle. Yes I’ve got 2DC age 7&5. I have many days where I think yes be happy and move on but it breaks my heart a little. Then I get some hope back and we keep going. All my tests have been good but I just notice subtle changes and start to worry that I’m too old physically. I don’t FEEL too old but maybe my cycle is trying to tell me something. Also I’ve only got one ovary. It’s never been an issue for me geI got pregnant in the past but I’m wondering if I’m running out of eggs faster:-(
What are you thinking?

Cleozeta · 10/06/2018 09:17

I think everyone starts to get minor changes from around 40 but that doesn't mean it's over. I also think for many years it fluctuates. I had some terrible changes last year, I wax convinced it was game over, but then things normslised for a while, even enough for a bfp. It'll probably fluctuate again, so we have to catch things when they are good. While we are ovulating there is always a chance.

weasledee · 10/06/2018 09:22

Little I could have written your last post! (Apart from ovary) that's exactly my situation and how I feel.....

weasledee · 10/06/2018 09:24

Only other thing I think as we can a loss at 14 weeks last year for a genetic problem and a loss at 8 weeks as it had stopped growing...
So I also think is my body telling me something that the eggs I have left are all no good...?

AtrocityNeedles · 10/06/2018 09:33

Karigan, congratulations, I really hope it sticks Flowers

Welcome and congratulations, Helbelle

As for me, I got super sweaty last night in bed, which never happens except for when I got my bfp a while ago...but I'm somewhere in between DPO7 and DPO11 so it seems too early to test (I've spent a fortune in even the cheap tests all these years Sad)

Cleozeta · 10/06/2018 09:53

Needles - you could test anyway? That way if its a bfn you can tell yourself it must be the earlier dpo so invalud anyway Wink

I'm 10dpo today and thinking of testing tomorrow. I'm certain it's pointless but poas is fun (until I get bfn then it won't be, but I never learn)

AtrocityNeedles · 10/06/2018 10:31

Cleo, that way (for me) madness lies Grin

Chatbash72 · 10/06/2018 15:07

CritterTamer thank you for the info.. and littlemimosa 🤣🤣🤣 thank you for making me smile... and on smiling how critter how is Condomgate going ? Had it turned up yet?
Welcome Helbelle75 and big congrats..
I have decided not too go to the drs.. I know I am ovulating and I know I can conceive.. don't need to hear the "age" stuff at the moment.. still regular as clockwork.. and it does take 100 days to mature an egg. Well January was a really shitty month emotionally and beginning of feb too.. I made some dietary changes, it makes me very dull to drink just water, fruit juice and fruit/herbal tea but I like it.. so monthwise I'm probably now just into those eggs.. I'll keep plodding on and jumping on hubby, which he doesn't mind, sadly still thinks he has the stamina of an 18 year 🤣🤣 and as I have know him for that long ( although not been together since that time) he's giving it a good try..
Back on the baby making merry go round... with you lovely ladies.. 💕

BooseysMom · 10/06/2018 16:12

Lol Chat!
Faith - Thank you for the msg.
Karigan - Congratulations from me too! Flowers
Helbelle - Welcome and many congratulations on the BFP Flowers

Critter - just reading about egg viability and i'm now in my mid 40's and with 90% not viable hope is fading 😭 i blame myself for not trying harder but there was never the right time.
Just wondered what is the AHM test? I've had the FSH and LH done recently and they were both ok. I've had no sniff of a BFP in nearly 3 years but maybe that's down to me not wanting to get help or not ttc often enough?
I want to give up but pesky old Mother Nature just won't let me!!
Weasle - interesting to hear you've been getting symptoms alot earlier than when AF due..that's exactly what I've been getting. mild intermittent cramp just a few days after AF finishes and then it gets worse and worse as AF approaches. Also ovulation itself is now like having a 2nd AF every month!!

AtrocityNeedles · 10/06/2018 16:22

Anti-Mullerian hormone, gives an indication of your ovarian reserve. It's a good one to have done because if it comes back not great, then it is sensible to consider IVF and/or egg donation.

Cleozeta · 10/06/2018 18:05

I read something interesting today, I've just bought a book about 'how to eat yourself pregnant' (the recipies are useless as I can't cook but I was interested in what ingredients the suggest) anyway, it suggests that many chemical pregnancies are caused by low progesterone. If the progesterone drops, or doesn't remain high after implantation, the lining comes away early on, at around the time of the missed period.

BooseysMom · 10/06/2018 18:39

AtrocityNeedles..thanks for the definition. So it must be expensive to do those tests so the NHS won't pay. I've never even heard of it

CritterTamer · 10/06/2018 18:57

@Booseysmom - my AMH test cost me £80. Well worth it for the peace of mind it gave to come back as well above average for my age - gave me confidence to go ahead with the IVF as it meant the chances for a good outcome were better.

CritterTamer · 10/06/2018 19:00

@Chatbash72 - condomgate still isn’t resolved - still no sign of it! Did 2 hrs in the gym yesterday and 18 holes of golf today - thought that might encourage it to ‘fall out’ LOL, but nothing!

AtrocityNeedles · 10/06/2018 19:19

How bizarre! I mean, it's not like you have the Eurotunnel down there...or do you? Grin

Karigan198 · 10/06/2018 20:52

You know we’re all waiting to see if you find that condom right Wink

Alibaba2 · 10/06/2018 21:03

Hi everyone! I’m still dipping in and out of the thread.

Cleo, that sounds interesting. Does it suggest any foods for helping progesterone?

CritterTamer · 10/06/2018 21:16

@Karigan - ROFL - you guys will be the first to know if it appears! At this point I think I’m going to have to ask the nurse to look for it at my scan on Wednesday! So embarrassing.....😳
