ORCHID - so sorry to read your update. I’ve been in the exact same position where I had to wait for further scans before a mc would be confirmed. It’s hard but like you say you were sort of semi prepared which helps in a way but it’s still hard. As for the period- I’m sure I was told that they say wait for a period before trying again for no other reason than for dating purposes which seems a bit odd to me in this day and age with scans which can tell us this information anyway. But I might be wrong. Take comfort in the fact that you know you. An get pregnant and the increased fertility a mc brings. Sending you a massive hug - be kind to yourself xx

MATTSMAMMA · 05/06/2018 11:28

Sorry for typo! Should read you know you can get pregnant x

Cleozeta · 05/06/2018 11:45

So sorry this has happened to you orchid. I understand too well how heartbreaking it is, even when you are expecting bad news.
It is harder for us on this board as we do have limited time left and we need to get back on the horse asap. They advise waiting for your 1st period but only for dating reasons, so sod thar and crack on as soon as bleeding stops.
I haven't had a proper period yet, I bled for almost 2 and a half weeks from start of miscarriage and the scan that said I was about to ovulate was the day after the brown spotting stopped. (Bleeding had tailed off to spotting for about a week), so I ovulated 2 days after they saw the 21mm follicle acording to temps and opk, so my first official period will be 2 weeks after that.
I was surprised at how soon ovulation happened because as well as the spotting the day before the scan I was also still getting a faint positive hpt.
I hope it's over quickly for you so you can get back to ttc. The sooner the bleeding starts the sooner you can crack on.
Hopefully we can both benifit from raised fertility post mc

weasledee · 05/06/2018 11:59

So sorry it's not the news you wanted orchid x

CritterTamer · 05/06/2018 13:32

I’m so sorry to read this @Orchid, sendings hugs your way xxxx

Chatbash72 · 05/06/2018 13:33

Ohhh Orchid222 I'm so sorry.. the only reason they ask you to leave one period is only for dating reasons.. totally agree with Cleozeta crack on when you feel able and let them sort out dates with all their high tech scans later.. utilise the increased hormones.. sending big hugs.. 💕💕💕💕

Chatbash72 · 05/06/2018 13:34

Sorry MATTSMAMMA should have tagged you too in that last post x

AtrocityNeedles · 05/06/2018 13:46

Orchid, I'm so sorry, that's devastating news.

I have a friend who conceived again before her first post-mc period. My understanding is that doctors prefer you to wait for one cycle just in case there might be some retained tissue, which would come out with the period, but women can and do ovulate shortly after mc.

Orchid222 · 05/06/2018 14:21

Thank you all. I've been feeling sorry for myself for the last few hours but it's getting better.
Cleo good to hear you can ovulate so soon. I guess I'll start using opks as soon as the bleeding stops. The only thing is as you say Atrocity there might be some tissue left over so perhaps I should book a private scan the moment everything stops to rule that out and make sure I'm good to go. Wish I could fast forward the time to my next ovulation.

That's a great idea. I passed an enormous mass of what looked like dry blood (Envy not envy) on my first period after my mc. It was painful and it might have been a problem had I got pregnant again.

Cleozeta · 05/06/2018 14:42

I think a scan to confirm completion is a really good idea

Orchid222 · 05/06/2018 16:20

Thanks! I feel a bit better now that I have a plan. Not sure how we'll fit in a beach holiday in June while I'm waiting for mc but will have to figure it out somehow. I think the midwife said stuff that helps with a mc can take up to 2 weeks so I'm hoping to be done and ready to ttc again in about 6 weeks.
Atrocity the midwife did say the 1st period is usually heavier so that's probably why, just getting rid of whatever is remaining.

Thanks Little & Chat. Feeling lots better now. On holiday in Dorset and the sun has disappeared but at least it's not raining!
So sorry Orchid for your loss Flowers

Orchid - I’m so sorry to read your update. Even though you were half expecting it it’s still devastating. Try to take the positive from this that you know you can and you will again. Hope you can get some rest and some tlc. Big hugs from me x

Cleozeta · 06/06/2018 09:41

Karigan - how did your dr appointment go? Any answers?

Chatbash72 · 06/06/2018 11:02

How is everyone doing today ?

Orchid222 · 06/06/2018 11:08

Thank you Mimosa. It is still devastating as you lose that last bit of hope. I got lots of hugs from DS and DH last night so doing better today and trying to stay positive. I do know that I don't have another year to give it so will try for a few cycles and go for IVF if we have no luck.
Critter-I'm eagerly waiting for your updates. Hopefully though the increased fertility after a MC is not a myth and it will happen again soon, for me and for every one of you. It'd be brilliant if we could all move to the 40+ and pregnant thread around the same time! x

Good afternoon - I'm on DPO3 I think, my ovulation days have ranged from 11 to 21 in the last few months Confused, so just sitting and waiting and trying to not overthink it.

Chatbash72 · 06/06/2018 13:06

Grrrrrr day 29 in cycle, af due tomorrow.. boobs ridiculous and sore.. no cramping, a bit achy. felt a bit nauseous this morning but trying very hard ignore all signs or lack of them because for the last 3 cycles I would have put money of getting a bfp and got bupkiss.. good luck and big hugs to all.. 💕

CritterTamer · 06/06/2018 14:00

So I had my baseline scan last night and all was good to go for the IVF cycle - apparently my antral follicles are in the perfect place for egg collection??
Anyway first injection done last night and wasn’t as bad as I was fearing - was quite painful for an hour or so afterwards but now just a big bruise. I have to do two a day from tonight on so pretty soon my whole tummy is going to be black and blue lol. I stimulate for a week now and have a scan next Weds to see how the follicles are growing.

Glad you’re feeling a little more positive today Orchid - I’ll keep you updated with what goes on!

Karigan198 · 06/06/2018 14:01

No answers at all. A few quotes are: ‘either you’re pregnant or due on soon. Test again in a week’ and ‘oh we wouldn’t worry until you’ve skipped periods for 6 months’. Wouldn’t even do a blood test.

So taken matters into my own hands and booked a scan to see wtf is going on.

CritterTamer · 06/06/2018 14:07

Sorry to hear that Karigan - how frustrating! I hope you get your answer soon (and it’s the answer you want!)

AtrocityNeedles · 06/06/2018 14:45

Well, that was useful of them Hmm

Chatbash72 · 06/06/2018 15:47

Karigan198 not very helpful then.. 😞
