Morning ladies, so my little bean didn't stick... I didn't think it would after the cramping yesterday afternoon and eve... neg test this morning.. 😞 back on the merry go round... once the bleeding stops.. but I do take encouragement from knowing that egg did meet sperm but just wasn't right.. although now not sure what else I can do to make egg healthy.. vits, diet, exercise, no booze, no caffeine etc....

CritterTamer · 09/06/2018 07:28

I’m so sorry @Chatbash. As you say at least you know it can happen now - just need to wait for that good egg to come along. FX it happens quickly for you xxx

Orchid222 · 09/06/2018 07:48

Oh no Chat so sorry to hear that. Have you tried acupuncture/Chinese herbs? That's the only other thing I can think of to help improve eggs quality. I do hope it happens for you soon and it sticks! Xx

Sorry to hear that chat, it really is rubbish.
Are you taking ubiquinol? I've decided to up my dose after my recent issue.
Also, so early on it could have been a problem with lining? You could do things to help that side just in case? Raspberry leaf tea etc? I think sometimes the hardest thing is not knowing why. If we knew why we could try to fix it Sad
At least now you know you CAN get pregnent (thats what I keep telling myself and it does help), so keep up the hope Flowers

Chatbash72 · 09/06/2018 10:04

Thank you ladies.. have tried the raspberry leaf tea but didn't feel that it did anything. not tired acupuncture or herbs bit not sure I want to go down that route.. although might have a one off session just to relax me.. take the norm Pre preg vits and omega 3,6,9
But might look at Ubiquinol.. although I am a big believer that if the egg wasn't right a m/c is nature's way and I'm ok with that it was really early.. just had a long and rambling letter from my mother.. ( I keep her at a distance because she is a selfish cow) going on about having some big gynee op.. really not helpful thankfully we don't share similarities in the birthing dept.. take after my granny thank god!! Blugggghhhhhh just want a pj day but hubs is doing the food shop so fingers crossed can have a gentle day.. hope the scan go ok today Karigan198 x

Morning

Sorry to hear your news chatbash..

I am really confused with my body. I had 23-24 days cycles, then a 17 day, then a 36 day and now a 15 day one!! Sure I won't be able to get pregnant at this rate!! Going to drs for blood test next week but it's v frustrating! Wish I had started trying a couple of years ago when all was normal and I was younger. ( and my dc was) I feel like I've thrown away my chance by being so indecisive! But then I keep telling myself I wasnt ready then and my decision was made for lots of good reasons at the time.

Have to keep reminding myself that I am very blessed to have a child already

And I also like the saying "what's for you won't go by you." so if we are meant to have another we will and if not we will be ok too

Sending lots of hugs to all

CritterTamer · 09/06/2018 11:31

Hi ladies

So this is a bit off topic but i could use some advice - please don’t laugh!

So DH and i are having to use condoms at the moment due to the ivf cycle - needless to say we’re not very experienced after 20 years on BCP and then TTC. To cut a long story short, after DTD this morning, the condom is completely missing in action - like totally gone, nowhere to be found (and I’ve done some serious searching!)

Has anyone ever heard of this or had it happen? Where could it possibly have gone? Can feel all around my cervix and it’s not there, not in the bed, I’m clueless LOL.

Any ideas gratefully accepted!

Chatbash72 · 09/06/2018 12:48

Oh CritterTamer, you did make we smile but much needed today thank you... do you have a dog? I had a dog ( with 1st hubby) who was partial to used condoms 😳 🤢
Does it feel like it could still be inside?
Maybe another rummage in a bit? Or another quick check of the bedding or under the bed.. hope you find it soon xx

BooseysMom · 09/06/2018 13:49

Little. .thanks for the msg..i assumed it was normal pregnancy palpitations at the time as no one seemed bothered. I just desperately need more info. I don't like taking pills as it is and these are bound to be hardcore as they're for the heart. Maybe my heart is just naturally a fast beater and the pills just slow it down too much and mess up my natural rhythms! ! Plus the side effects are bound to be horrendous.
Karigan - hope today goes well. Good luck.
Chat - really sorry to hear your little bean didn't stick..Flowers

  • [ ] Hi ladies. Just checking in. We’ve been on hols in Turkey this week so I’ve not posted but been reading news daily.

Sorry that the early BFP wasn’t to be Chat but good news that egg met sperm.

  • [ ] Orchid - sorry things are dragging on. I had a similar experience in Dec 2015 - apparently the NHS are over precautious as a few women who had been encouraged to go the medical management route refused (owing to religious beliefs) and lo and behold - at 10 weeks of waiting - possibly more - there was a heartbeat.. so you never know. Was hell for me, as it was 5 weeks they made me wait, but you always have a window of hope 🙏🏻.
  • [ ] Karri - hope the scan gives you positive answers.
  • [ ] Boosey that’s scary about your heart but hopefully meds will help things - and if they didn’t mention no pregnancy then you are still in the game.
  • [ ] Critter Condom-gate! That’s a bit scary! & hope it turns up - impressed you are finding time and passion to DTD!!
  • [ ] Sorry for anyone I’ve missed - not personal - just scanning thread on Iphone a balls ache!
  • [ ] No news from me. CD 33. Don’t think I ovulated this month. As very little EWCM. And no other symps. Have ditched vitamins this hol, eaten well but also drink lots of coffee and prosecco! Planning to get back on the wagon on Tuesday when we return and I’ve decided to buy the fanny thermometer Needles! Let’s see how it goes.

Sunny love to you all from flaming Turkey!🌞🐔🌞 xxxxx

Cleozeta · 09/06/2018 16:37

Faith - enjoy the rest of your holiday!
Critter - hope you find it soon, how bizarre!!
Karrigan - hope your scan went well

I'm currently 9dpo and already getting af type cramps, I don't normally get them but I've heard 1st period after mc can be unnusual and more painful. Oh well... here goes

Cleozeta · 09/06/2018 16:39

Hmmm - good luck with blood tests, let us know how you get on. Hopefully your cycle will straighten out soon

CritterTamer · 09/06/2018 17:04

LOL @Chatbash - yes I have 3 dogs which will happily swallow anything! Don’t think they are the culprits though as DH noticed it was missing straightaway and they weren’t close enough! Still no sign of the dratted thing - have follicle scan on Wednesday so maybe it’ll show up on that LOL.

@Faith - condom-gate I like it, that’s gonna stick 😂

Karigan198 · 09/06/2018 17:40

Well the negative tests are wrong and I am pregnant but undetermined yet if it’s viable

40+ ttc: 2018 is full of bfp's!
Chatbash72 · 09/06/2018 18:02

Yay Karigan198 fingers crossed 🤞 all is viable..

CritterTamer · 09/06/2018 18:12

Congrats Karigan - FX for you xxx

Cleozeta · 09/06/2018 18:20

Yay karigan! Congrats! Is it too early to tell if viable? I really hope all ok. Any clues as to why tests negative? How far along are you?

Cleozeta · 09/06/2018 18:21

Sorry just seen on your pic 4 weeks 5 days. Does that match with your dates? If it does then chances are looking good!

Karigan198 · 09/06/2018 18:22

Unknown viability is due to obviously low hcg, simply too early to tell and possibly showing as not developed quite enough since I’m 12 days late

Orchid222 · 09/06/2018 19:11

Karigan- congrats and I really hope it's viable, hopefully it's just early. Can you go back to your doc with the scan and request blood tests to see if your hcg is going up? I've been reading a ton about viable (or not) pregnancies and most ladies seemed to be doing the blood tests alongside scans.
Weasle- forgot to comment on what you said the other day falling pg in the 1st month with your previous pregnancies. I also got pregnant on the 1st try a few years ago, had an early mc and then fell pregnant on the 1st try with my ds. This time around it took a full year so I do think that age might have something to do with it- just takes a bit longer. You haven't been trying that long have you? I would definitely keep going and give it a bit more time.

Chatbash72 · 09/06/2018 19:51

Ok ladies advice needed
2 friends have said I need to make an appointment at drs and see if I can get a blood test as have now had 2 confirmed +ve tests and m/c and one what I think was a m/c but didn't take a test, in 5 months.. I am a little scared of being fobbed off with the "do you know how old you are??
"It's the peri menopause..
"Don't waste our time" attitude
but obvs still bang on regular with af, can conceive and am ovulating but for them all to be past their best seems a bit harsh.. can it hurt ?

Helbelle75 · 09/06/2018 20:02

Hi everyone, can I join you?
I met my dh when I was 37, so we had a late start. Unfortunately had a mmc with our first pregnancy at 10.5 weeks, when I was 40.
We were very fortunate to then have our beautiful dd, who is now 14 months. I was 41 when I had her and she is perfect.
Now 42 and I just got a bfp yesterday, which has both delighted and shocked us as we are too tired to try very enthusiastically!
I'm terrified of miscarrying again, and there is the added issue that I'm still breastfeeding our dd. I also know that I'll have the fear of God put into me again about being an older mum, so it would be nice to have people to chat to who are in the same position.

CritterTamer · 09/06/2018 20:49

@Helbelle75 - welcome and congrats on your BFP. We all love positive/success stories on this thread! There seem to be quite a few BFPs coming along at the moment - desperately hoping it will be my turn next month at the end of this IVF cycle 😊🤞

Helbelle75 · 09/06/2018 21:05

Everything crossed for you @CritterTamer.

CritterTamer · 09/06/2018 22:29

@Chatbash72 - not sure that i have any good advice or know what a doctor will tell you, but what my gynae told me was that by our early 40s over 80% of our remaining eggs are no longer viable, and by mid to late 40% it’s more like 90%. This is why it’s so hard to conceive a normal healthy embryo even when everything else, e.g. hormones and cycle wise is normal. If everything else is normal and happening ok and you know you can conceive I think it’s just a waiting game for that rare good egg to come along. If you know everything else is ok have you considered getting tested for NK cells in the uterus? I have read a fair bit about them causing recurrent miscarriages.
