Not helpful at all! They shoukdve at least do bloods. Glad you're doing something about it Karigan. When's your scan?

Karigan, how useless! You'd have thought they would suggest some kind of test. I guess that's government cutbacks again.
Sounds random but have you tried an opk? Might be worth seeing if anything comes up on one.

Critter that sounds fun!

Orchid you have the same plan as me. I also don't have a year left to keep trying again, so going to do a couple of cycles naturally then look into IVF

Karigan198 · 06/06/2018 16:33

Hmmm I do have opks. Might try one

BooseysMom · 06/06/2018 20:59

Good evening ladies. Well i've just had a sort of set back to ttc. I had to wear a heart rate monitor recently as i'd been getting occasional palpitations which i'd put down to hormone disturbances with possible peri menopause. Then i get a call tonight saying I've got an accelerated heart rate. .like 1000 more beats than i should have! ! I've got to take a light dose of something to calm it down. It worried me how little they knew. My aunty had this and started blacking out then the next thing is she dies on her birthday before they could fit a monitor to her. My dad had a heart attack at 60 and is on pills now. I'm really trying not to freak out here! What doesn't make sense is that i must have had this throughout my pregnancy with DS 4 years ago as they said i had a missed heart rate but ..and this is the thing ...they weren't worried about it at all. And now suddenly they fit this monitor on me and i have to take meds which i probably won't be able to conceive or bf whilst taking. So confused and worried Confused

littlemimosa · 06/06/2018 21:54

Booseys - gosh that sounds worrying for you. I’d be going back for a second and possibly third opinion on something so serious sounding.

Critter - glad to hear all is going well so far.

Karigan - that is so annoying. Glad to hear you’ve booked something yourself. When is it?

BooseysMom · 07/06/2018 07:00

Hi Little, thank you. .yes that's exactly what my DH said! It's weird. Looks like i'll be joining Dad with his heart pills now! feel like an old woman for sure! Def too old for another baby 😥

Chatbash72 · 07/06/2018 09:03

Ooh BooseysMom that sounds very worrying and stressful for you.. does it mean no more babies? Medically ? Sending big hugs 💕💕

BooseysMom · 07/06/2018 09:39

Thanks Chat. They haven't told me that medically no more babies but i just don't feel i can have another now anyway. I've been feeling strange (weak, v tired and nauseous) for a while now esp around mid cycle and put it down to hormonal changes but all my bloods were all ok. What doesn't make sense is that they said i had a "missed heart beat" when preg 4 years ago and they didn't raise it as a concern. .so why now do they say it needs calming? ! I just don't get it x

MATTSMAMMA · 07/06/2018 09:52

BOOSEYS - that sounds worrying for you but don’t let it put you off ttc - women can and do conceive with all sorts of problems, even heart problems. I can totally get where your coming from and your concerns though. Have you ever had your thyroid tested? That can cause problems such as this? I wound certainly be pushing for more tests and a second opinion. Sending you a big hug 🤗 x

KARIGAN - how annoying and frustrating. GP’s can be so vague sometimes Angry
Six months would be a long time to wait for anyone with no periods before tests of any kind - sounds ridiculous. I hope you get some answers soon x

Cleozeta · 07/06/2018 10:06

Boosy - I would definitely get another opinion, it may not be as bad as it sounds. Fingers crossed for you.

Karigan - let us know how the opk comes out, it may give you an indication. The waiting game must be infuriating!

weasledee · 07/06/2018 10:12

Big fat whiter than white negative on 10DPO....
Really considering packing this ttc in and enjoying the DC I have.....
Having always gotten pregnant first month of trying I feel that something has changed and it's really not going to happen....
Bad day :(

Karigan198 · 07/06/2018 10:14

Scan booked for Saturday. If I am by then it’ll be just under 7 weeks so should show. Haven’t done an opk yet. Kind of tired of peeing on sticks lol

Cleozeta · 07/06/2018 10:51

Weasle, 10dpo is still early and may not show yet, so don't give up! I know how you feel though, I get like that sometimes too.

Karigan, so weird that you are still in limbo. How are you feeling now? Any more signs or symptoms?

Karigan198 · 07/06/2018 13:06

I know! Much the same. Boobs huge, bloated, no period. Although the excessive cm has eased off now.

It is all very odd!

I’m never late. Periods are like clockwork normally and it’s now 10 days late.

BooseysMom · 07/06/2018 15:47

Hi Matts & Cleo..Thank you both. I'll call the doctor when we get back and get some more info. They're leaving a prescription for me. I was shocked when she told me on the phone i didn't hear what the name of the pills are. Hopefully it will be ok but i do really feel the same as Weasle, that i have to accept there will only be the one child for us.

minime2017 · 07/06/2018 19:00

Lots going on since I was here last. Karigan im now 4/5 days late from when i expected af and nothing to show for it other than rotten evap lines. Like yourself Im never late so am beginning to worry there's an imbalance somewhere.

Chatbash72 · 07/06/2018 20:16

Drs really are rubbish BooseysMom try and get another opinion or at least lots more info when you get back..
@Karigan198 6 month wait if no period that's total pants.. Good luck with the scan.. I feel like I am following the wave.. Karigan198 weasledee and minime2017 af should have arrived today boobs not as sore, bloated very very slight spotting but only on wiping.. ( sorry tmi 🤦‍♀️) hardly any cramps wouldn't know af was around the corner, but apart from slight nausea no signs of preg.. having hot flushes which I'm not stressed about as still reg as clockwork and think if temp is up then progesterone levels are still good.. what the hell is going on ??

minime2017 · 07/06/2018 21:00

My thoughts exactly @Chatbash! Its starting to freak me out. Im out on a boozy night with an old pal tomorrow and although i know in my soul im not pregnant i dont want to drink! Im worried its the beginning of the end for my fertility. My worst fear after mc was that it would kick perimenopause into full swing and it seems it might have. However the only thing keeping me sane is that despite getting a smiley face on the Wednesday I had ov signs on the C
Fri/Sat so might just be late ov and we dtd so foolishly holding out a bit of hope...its probably this hope tbats holding the whole thing up!!!

CritterTamer · 07/06/2018 21:29

@BooseysMom - sorry to hear you’re having such a rough time at the moment - I hope you manage to get a second opinion or at least some clarity on what is going on soon.

@minime2017 - the 2ww is awful, must be even worse to have it go on so long but still be getting BFNs. I hope you and Karigan both get some answers soon!

@ those interested in IVF updates - be warned -some of these injections hurt like hell (during and for about an hour afterwards). Having to think happy baby thoughts to get through them lol. Only about 10 more days to go!

littlemimosa · 07/06/2018 22:01

Booseys - just had a thought.... rapid heartbeat is a symptom of iron deficiency. Which is very common on pregnancy which might explain why you had when expecting DS. Have you had it tested recently?

Weasel - don’t give up hope yet. It’s v early.

littlemimosa · 07/06/2018 22:02

Critter - you’re so brave! Are you doing the injections on yourself?!

CritterTamer · 07/06/2018 22:25

@littlemimosa - not sure brave is the word, more like desperate! Yes you have to do your own injections as they have to be taken at the same time every night. I originally thought I’d ask DH to do them as he’s much better with needles than me but when it came to it that was far worse and I had to do them myself lol.

CritterTamer · 07/06/2018 22:34

Just to add - What makes it worse is the fear of dropping the vial when filling the syringe. A vial of the stim is about half the size of your index finger (1.5inches), is 4 days worth of injections and costs £330 😳

littlemimosa · 07/06/2018 22:37

Precious stuff then eh. I’m sure it’ll all be worth the pain and worry. Thinking of you and wishing you all the luck in the world x
