TTC #1, Cycle 1. Anyone In?

Hi all,
Longtime lurker, occasional commenter, rare poster here.
DH and I decided to start to TTC after much deliberation recently.
I've been on the pill for 16 years and haven't had a natural period in that time! Had my withdrawal bleed which started on 15th Jan and think I may have ovulated on Thursday 2nd Feb. I was doing OPKs (I know - first cycle, but if I'm going to do it, I'm going all in!) and got an almost-positive then - didn't have any more OPKs with me to test slightly later in the day.
DTD numerous times in what I'm estimating is my fertile week (working on the basis that my cycle is 28 days but don't really know at the moment).
So now the waiting begins.
Anyone in the same position or want to join?
Advice and your stories welcomed!

AF due tomorrow, tested this morning and had a negative result. Found an "online pregnancy test" and tried that 😂

Consoling myself that apparently only 68% of pregnancies would show + at this point, so holding out for being in the 32% that don't lol

@emdoc and @Rmad6716 I also have no idea what my cycle isn’t like. No idea when I’m ovulating, don’t want to use opks or anything yet. App said Tuesday but who knows. Congrats on the solid smiley @jemimafuddleduck.
Also looked for my cervix the other day, couldn’t find it so it must be high. Have sore boobs which is unusual for me but I know some people get this before their period. Sorry about AF @notmarywhitehouse, mine isn’t due till the 17th. I just wanna know already. Only my second two week wait and it’s horrible!

@Mipha it basically asked loads of questions and then told me I "might be" 😄

I'm effectively in my TWW now I think. I'm CD11 and believe I ovulated yesterday or today (peak smiley yesterday). We have DTD Friday, Saturday, Sunday and today so there's not much more we can do I don't think!

Still no update here! No AF. No BFP.

Got a docs appointment this afternoon as I woke up feeling like I have a UTI🙄. I will bring up the fears I have about potential PCOS symptoms while I'm there. Never wanted to get AF so much in my life lol. Would be amazing if this was some completely under the radar preggo but I'm pretty much 100% that my cycle is just messed up!

Not much to report from my end. I’ve been secretly peeing on cheap OPKs and none positive yet, nor any EWCM. Still just DTD regularly and if I hopefully have normal cycles, should be fertile sometime around now or the next few days! Not looking forward to the 2WW because this part of the month hasn’t been bad yet...

I'm now on TWW, ovulated on Sun. DTD on. Sat but we're too tired Sun and yesterday so not sure if I have much of a chance this month.

@orangekitkat13 solidarity in the TWW! Glad we're together on this! My apps say my AF is due next Friday/Saturday. Friday I will be 11dpo so there's not much point me testing before then (although I probably won't be able to stop myself ). When are you due?
I feel like we DTD at the right times this month so I'm really hoping this month is it!

@jemimafuddleduck I'm due Monday 23rd, fingers crossed you you this month then! We can keep each other from going mad with waiting! 😜

Hey guys... so I had my doctors appt yesterday to discuss my blood test results and swabs... was told all’s well with the bloods and there wasn’t much point in me having the day 21 test seeing as my cycles are so irregular to start with.. my swabs came back positive for gbs but I was told it’s nothing to worry about but that when I do get pregnant and go into labour will have to be given antibiotics 😬
Also hubbys been referred for SA but the clinics only open on Thursdays which is the one day he can never get off.. so we’re thinking to wait until he has some of his annual leave which isn’t for another 3 weeks 😬😩
Once all that’s been checked and they can’t worj out what the problem is we’ll be referred to a fertility clinic but I’m just hoping everything happens naturally soon fx

@WaitingForThatBFP that all sounds like they're being pretty proactive! Remind me how long you've been trying? I thought they would hold off on tests for 1 year, if this isn't the case and I don't get BFP in the next couple of months I may look into getting an appointment...!

@jemimafuddleduck yeah they are I’m so lucky to have such a great doctor she explained everything so well and made me feel at ease.. we’ve been trying since August but I think my doctor was worried more so about my periods as I was having extremely long cycles going up to 127 days so I thinks she just wanted to put my mind at rest that everything’s ok.. and once that was done she said seeing as we’ve already started down that route may aswell get hubbys SA done too.
I feel like it sometimes depends on the doctor.. I’ve only been with this surgery a month or so due to moving but my previous doctor wasn’t really that bothered and said I may have to wait even 2 years before they start tests.. wouldn’t even investigate my irregular periods

Docs app went well. I booked the actual appointment this morning and then went to work as it was at 3pm...by the time I got to the surgery the phantom UTI was gone. Thank goodness.

I did discuss the PCOS thing and doc wants to do bloods on Friday so check hormone levels.

Something very weird happened (may just miss the blood test..) I had very thick egg white CM today and realised I actually had a little yesterday too🙊. Just did an OPK and this is how it looks. Don't know if ive missed the boat or it's just coming into dock haha! Wish I'd done one yesterday. I'll try another later tonight 😊. This is day 40 of my cycle! At least I'm ovulating. At least I think I am🤞🏼. Typical the minute you make a doctors appointment things just end up resolving sometimes!

@Rmad6716 I'm no expert - I find those tests really ambiguous. But if I were you I'd be DTD!!

Spotting today, so guess the lateness was stress rather than baby 🙄

I’m still quite confused as I’ve not seen and positives on my cheapie OPKs. I think maybe I’m doing something wrong or some of them are faulty since a decent number of them don’t seem to develop the control stripe either! I live in a small town so I didn’t want to buy any OPKs in store in case I ran into someone I know but we’re traveling this weekend so I’m a bit tempted to buy some ClearBlue ones elsewhere! Of course it’s also possible I’m not ovulating since I’ve just had my coil taken out, or maybe I ovulate late! Who knows 🙄 haven’t seen any EWCM either, just kind of watery.

How’s everyone else doing?

@emdoc I've used the CB OPKs this month. I'm still in my TWW so don't know whether they've helped as such, but oh my god are they better than the cheapies! I was never sure with the cheapies whether it was positive or negative, but there's no mistaking the CB ones.
Yes they're pricey but SO worth it IMO. You just need to make sure you start it at the right time in your cycle as I made that mistake the first month and messed it up so ended up wasting some sticks! I'm using the advanced digital one.

I'm 5dpo on cycle 2 TTC now; can't tell the difference between what could be preg symptoms or PMS symptoms. All I can do is wait.......

Can I jump in? Same boat TTC Cycle 1, never really used mumsnet before,I use the Flow app and I'm pretty sure I'm ovulating but DH is sick...sat at work weighing up how sick is his "sick" and whether or not I should attempt tonight

@emdoc hey x I’m on CD 35 atm 😩cervix feels medium high? And soft.. well that’s what I think 😂😂 I still find it confusing 😬

I'm a few days away from FW, so will be having a few bevies this weekend 😆

On another note, have been taking seven seas pre-conception for about six weeks and feeling sick for the last two or three...... have done a bit of reading and evidently it's not too uncommon- anybody else experienced it? Switching to just FAcid from today!
