TTC #1, Cycle 1. Anyone In?

Hi all,
Longtime lurker, occasional commenter, rare poster here.
DH and I decided to start to TTC after much deliberation recently.
I've been on the pill for 16 years and haven't had a natural period in that time! Had my withdrawal bleed which started on 15th Jan and think I may have ovulated on Thursday 2nd Feb. I was doing OPKs (I know - first cycle, but if I'm going to do it, I'm going all in!) and got an almost-positive then - didn't have any more OPKs with me to test slightly later in the day.
DTD numerous times in what I'm estimating is my fertile week (working on the basis that my cycle is 28 days but don't really know at the moment).
So now the waiting begins.
Anyone in the same position or want to join?
Advice and your stories welcomed!

Of course @Rachellouise28 you're more than welcome.
7 cycles - how are you feeling? Have you been trying trying ie temping etc? I'm only 3 cycles in and finding it hard so I feel for you x

Oh - 9th, sorry!

Thank you! I haven’t been temping I’ve just been using OPKs each month. Cheap amazon ones and Clearblue. Hope you catch soon. It’s nice to be able to talk about it with people who are in the same boat!

Mipha · 26/03/2018 21:45

Hello ladies!
Was out last cycle as boyf was away, such a boring month! Period came 3 days early so cycle 2 was only 25 days. Onto cycle 3. Currently cd4 and want the time to hurry up!!

Rachellouise28 · 26/03/2018 21:57

It always feels like forever doesn’t it!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 27/03/2018 06:52

Just had a bit of a poke around up there and my cervix is quite closed which probably means absolutely nothing as I have no idea how long my cycle is but working on a 28d cycle, it should be pretty open by now

jemimafuddleduck · 27/03/2018 08:28

How do you even know what your cervix is like? I keep seeing "tips" to check your cervix but I wouldn't have a clue if it was open, closed or even there!!

I'm pretty sure in out this month. Only 9dpo but feel bloated like AF is coming and BFN this month. Last month was a 22 day cycle so if I go based on that, AF is due Thursday 😞

Rachellouise28 · 27/03/2018 10:43

I was wondering how you know too. I’m also out. AF arrived last night... on to cycle number 10 😩

Rmad6716 · 27/03/2018 10:54

I'm still none the wiser today. Only thing I had last night was weird feeling cramps and literally my nipples just suddenly started stinging for like 30 seconds 🤣. Another BFN looking test today. Don't feel bloated and my boobs don't hurt so I'm not sure what is going to happen. 9 DPO so could still be hope🤞🏼. I do feel on and off nauseas but could still be a bug of some sort.

Rmad6716 · 27/03/2018 10:58

P.s how horrible is it to look at '16 days till fertile window' lol

jemimafuddleduck · 27/03/2018 11:46

@Rmad6716 Mine says 17 days 😩 I'm feeling really rough today but I think that's more to do with a bug going round at work than anything else. The girl who sits next to me has just gone off sick. Great!

Rmad6716 · 27/03/2018 12:09

@jemimafuddleduck are you taking pregnacare by any chance? I've just seen a thread where it's made a few women feel pretty ill. Including me I've just come to realise. Mimicking early preg symptoms! Kinda gutted😣

Rachellouise28 · 27/03/2018 12:14

@Rmad6716 I take pregnacare and it makes me nauseous but I thought it was in my head 🙈

jemimafuddleduck · 27/03/2018 12:33

I am taking pregnacare and it did make me feel sick but as long as I take it with meals I'm ok.

My current feeling is more sore throat/headache/onset of a cold type symptoms

AnotherOriginalUsername · 27/03/2018 13:05

Any kind of vitamins are worth taking with a proper meal or just before bed as they will make you feel nauseous otherwise.

Regarding checking your cervix - you just go delving around up there! If anyone has had a coil, it's no different to checking the position of the strings.

Your cervix will vary in height - either high (full finger length away), medium (half finger length) or low (less than half finger length) at various points in your cycle.

It will also be open, closed or halfway - it's open during peak fertility to allow sperm through, and open to allow menstruation.

And then the "texture" varies '- either soft, firm or somewhere in between, depending on where you are in your cycle.

It's also how you can "sample" some cervical fluid to see where in your cycle you are.

Go have a poke around!

Rmad6716 · 27/03/2018 13:28

I always take the pregnacare after my dinner at night.

The nausea has been mostly during the day. Maybe I shouldn't dismiss the symptoms yet then lol. I might switch brands or just try folic acid only 🤞🏼.

Will need to look into the cervix checking malarkey 👀

Hi all,

Please can I join!
We were meant to be starting to TTC#1 in a couple of months time when we were moved in to our first home together!! But one thing led to another this month and here I am 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ 8DPO and due on next Tuesday... Trying to not test yet but my fingers are itching to open the Internet cheapies that came the other day!! When does everyone test?

Sending lots of babydust to you all! 🤰🏻💁🏻

AnotherOriginalUsername · 27/03/2018 16:41

There's little point testing until 10dpo. Most cheaper tests are accurate from the day your period is due

jemimafuddleduck · 27/03/2018 16:53

@AnotherOriginalUsername I KNOW you're right. I KNOW it! And yet I just don't have any restraint whatsoever 😩

WaitingForThatBFP · 27/03/2018 17:00

@anotheroriginalusername Thanks for the info regarding checking cervix.. it always confused me reading about it I was always thinking how the heck am I meant to know where it is 😂😂🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ But you explained it so easily!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 27/03/2018 17:06

@jemimafuddleduck join the club!

@WaitingForThatBFP I've found it quite interesting getting to know what's going on in my body. I've had a coil or an implant for about the last 10 years, and no kind of bleeding at all, so it's all been a bit of a voyage of discovery

WaitingForThatBFP · 27/03/2018 17:10

@AnotherOriginalUsername I’ve been wanting to check the whole cervix thing but the idea just scared me... gonna have a go later and try not to freak myself out 😂😂🙈

Rmad6716 · 27/03/2018 17:16

I'll be 10 DPO tomorrow (allegedly! According to apps..) so scared to test and use my FRER😣. Been using the wee one step ones but I think it's too early for them. AF due on Sunday! Why is it I keep POAS and thinking magically a line might appear 🤪🤞🏼

AnotherOriginalUsername · 27/03/2018 17:49

I have purchased the Lloyds pharmacy equivalent of a FRER ready for tomorrow Confused

NotMaryWhitehouse · 27/03/2018 19:38

@AnotherOriginalUsername good luck ! It's like Christmas Eve isn't it..... if Christmas morning involved wee-ing on a stick.
