Hi ladies,

Would love to know how people have got on with this bracelet? Is it worth the £200 price tag?

Many thanks x

@user1486281491 - hope you like it! I found that mine has taken some pressure off and I've stopped buying the sticks.

Has anyone bought one second hand? If so, does the app still work or do you have to pay something extra?

KediKat · 17/05/2019 12:38

Hi ladies. Iv just read right through this whole thread as I was contemplating the Ava (was also weighing up the ovusense if anyone has used that I'd be interested to hear about it) I think you've all sold me on it! My question is, ladies who have bought it, do any of you work shifts? I work long days but also nights, I'm wondering how doing nights, so sleeping during the day affects the data. It's alot of money to spend out if that is going to throw it off.
Thanks!

dahlia123 · 17/05/2019 20:13

Hi @Nikkinoodle84 - Glad you found the thread helpful. Forums are what led me to get the bracelet.

I've got the Ava and work shifts (haven't used Ovusense) and shifts were the main reason I went for it over other BBT thermometers.

I don't work overnight but I can start at 4am or finish at midnight, and Ava is working well. I'd say you need to sleep for at least three hours in one go, so as long as you're doing that then it shouldn't be a problem to sleep in the day.

I've attached a screen grab of my last cycle. You can see days where I haven't had a full night's sleep in the sleep section (I tend to sleep in two 4/5 hour chunks if I have an early start and would only wear Ava for one chunk a day), and the rest of the readings still seem to make sense and follow a pattern.

Realised the £20 off code I posted before looks messy and went wrong - so here it is again if you're interested (you'll need to enter the promo code which comes up at the top of your browser when you click on it)

Good luck on your TTC journey!

Thanks @dahlia123 did you find it was still accurate in pinpointing ovulation and period dates?

dahlia123 · 18/05/2019 09:33

@Nikkinoodle84 yep, believe it is. I was using Ovia before I bought an Ava, and when I look back at that calendar I realise my partner and I were a bit out timing wise.

The first month I used Ava I didn't believe it when it said my period was due as Ovia said another date and I'd been using it for a while - but Ava was right!

This month I've been putting the temperature data from the Ava bracelet into Ovia, Fertility Friend and Kindara (i thought it was worth cross checking things).

Ovia seems to be a couple of days out from Ava.

Fertility Friend is pretty much in line. Also while this app has a more dated appearance, I like the amount of data that can be recorded and also displayed on the chart in one go.

Kindara predictions don't seem to be altered by the temps, also I don't like the limited data input.

Going by other cycle signs (ewcm, sore boobs in literal phase) I'd say that Ava is accurate.

Nikkinoodle84 · 18/05/2019 19:44

That's so much help @dahlia123 thank you. I've been using flo app but a bit frustrated it keeps moving my ovulation and period dates around and doesnt always seem to be quite accurate. I'm just concerned doing different shifts all the time may throw it off, its alot of money to pay if that turned out to be the case. Thanks for taking the time to respond so thoroughly!

dahlia123 · 19/05/2019 13:24

No worries @Nikkinoodle84!
