Hi ladies,

Would love to know how people have got on with this bracelet? Is it worth the £200 price tag?

Many thanks x

When you click through using the discount code, it might not appear as the discount until you go through the checkout if that makes sense?
Will drop my code here too if anyone wants it. Best of luck everyone!

Just received £140 credit back from Ava - I have no idea why but I guess it’s from the discount codes!! Who cares the money is in my bank and it means my bracelet only cost me £100!!❤️

I’ve just got my bracelet all set up and I can’t wait for it to start doing its thing :) I’m hoping it’s going to take some of the stress out of TTC, I’m fed up of peeing on OPKs!

I too have a link for a discount:

Thanks everyone for all the info on the Ava bracelet!
I’m totally sold on it, just trying to convince the husband now! I just think it’s worth it if it helps you conceive :)

I had to work on my husband too. I mentioned it 5 or 6 months ago, but when we got to 12 months trying he was happy to go ahead. I’m sure I must have spent the same amount on OPKs since we started!

I promised to write a review for you but I got pregnant during the first month using Ava. I didn’t get to use the full functionality of the device, but it seems pretty good in my opinion. The only minor problem is that sleeping patterns don’t look very accurate.
I guess Ava was very successful in my case, but a bit like placebo effect. I was so happy to finally feel in control of my own fertility and it all worked out smoothly!

So I’ve been using Ava for about 3 weeks now. I think the data is a bit off at the minute but that’ll be because it’s getting to know me (which sounds a bit odd for a bracelet!!). Really interesting and so much easier than oral temperature monitoring, it’s also really comfortable so I don’t notice it at night. Been TTC for a while now (pretty much a year) so got to the point where I was willing to spend the money, fingers crossed it’s worth it!

We’re 7 months trying this month, have read loads about tracking temps and tried to do it but kept forgetting to do it each morning so decided to bite the bullet and try the Ava this month. Seems good so far! Link here if anyone wants £20 off

Lidia21 wow, congratulations! I’ve been really enjoying seeing my readings in the morning. Unfortunately I dropped it in a little vase of water that was next to my bed this morning when I was half asleep Shock It started vibrating non-stop...I threw it in a bowl of rice in the hope that it might help in the same way it helps a phone! Thankfully when I got home from work it seem to be working again, fingers crossed!!

I have a question about it - I normally ovulate around day 20-22. The app had (as it’s my first cycle using it) given me the expected ovulation day of day 15 I believe. Until this morning, I had ‘low fertility’. Today, this went to high fertility and my ovulation moved to day 18 (actually on 18th Feb). Is this based on my readings that it can tell already that I’m in my fertile window do you think? I’m not sure if I’ve explained myself very well, so I apologise.

I have had mine for two weeks now and I like it. I have set it to TTC but we are trying after my next AF, which Ava predicts to be 25th February (CD28 is Monday coming, which was the case when I was on the pill but this is my first month off the pill, so not 100% when it will be. When I was off the pill before I used to be about 5 days late so my cycles were about 33 days).

The only downside is the strap gives me a minor skin irritation, which has happened with FitBits in the past. I am still using it as I think it may go as time goes on (it looks a bit better at the moment), but I am going to sleep with a piece of tissue under the strap (not the sensor side, more the fastening side) as I can keep the strap off my skin but it won’t affect the sensor on my skin. I love the Ava and spent enough on it, I really don’t want to send it back because the strap is affecting me, so I will try things to stop the irritation first.

If anyone wants to use my discount code please feel free:

@BeckyG86 you could try taking the pod out of the band and using a sweatband to hold it in place instead. Other people have had success with this when they've had reactions to the band.

Here's my code for anyone that might want it. I think this one gives £25 off?

I've just bitten the very expensive bullet and ordered mine! We've been trying for 14 months and have spent a fortune on ovulation tests! So, people using the ava, does that mean you no longer use opks at all? That seems a bit scary!

I used @pinacollama 's code as you sound like me! You've been trying a while, mentioned it to dp ages ago and also drop important things in water - you are me!

@KCunliffe - your code offers £20, not £25. Only saying as you mentioned it.

Also, I looked on e-bay and they have a really good sell on value.

Baby dust to us all!

@seven201 sorry about that, the email had said £25 but maybe that was one of their time limited offers? Best of luck with your Ava! I think a lot of people drop the OPKs once Ava gets to know them. I still use them as I'm a POAS addict!

Report
seven201 · 17/02/2019 20:12

@KCunliffe time limited offer would make sense. What could an opk tell you that Ava couldn't? I just don't quite understand what Ava does exactly yet. My cycles aren't predictable - been peeing on opks for the last 21 days (and having sex every other day) with only 'high' appearing about 5 days ago.

Report
KCunliffe · 17/02/2019 20:29

@seven201 Ava uses an algorithm based on your parameters (temps, heart rate, breathing and HRV ratio) to predict ovulation. It can take 2-3 cycles to get to know you.
OPKs can tell you your body has a high level of LH which triggers ovulation. However sometimes your body can gear up to ovulate but not manage it (common in women with PCOS for example) so OPKs can only tell you when your body tries to ovulate not if it's managed it. Ava uses more data and learns your individual cycles. The makers of Ava don't give a lot away about how they work it out as it's a bit like a secret recipe!
One of the parameters Ava tracks is your temps. A biphasic shift (temp rise) indicates ovulation. I find Ava better for tracking temps than just using a bbt thermometer. I put the temps from the Ava app into the fertility friend app as I prefer that for showing when I've ovulated (Ava will only show the prediction). This might all sound a bit confusing now but will hopefully make sense once you're using Ava and see the data on the app.

KCunliffe · 17/02/2019 20:31

Basically some people like to use OPKs still while Ava gets to know their cycles.
Others (like me) are data junkies and want as much info as possible. Ava predicts my fertile window quite well so I know when to use OPKs in a smaller time frame though.

I prefer the Ava more because I don’t like the thought of peeing in a pot or on a stick every day, but that said I have still brought ovulation tests and a Basal thermometer as back up. My Ava has not done a full cycle yet, but it’s CD1 for me today (Ava predicted a week tomorrow but when I was on the pill it should be tomorrow, but this month is my first natural period since coming off the pill on 16th January and having my withdrawal bleed just after). I know Ava won’t be 100% accurate straight away though so I expect it to have many predictions and changes to begin with.

Ahh thanks seven201. I’m just so glad it still seems to be functioning after the water incident! Trying for a baby is expensive business enough without drowning pricey Ava bracelets.
