Hi ladies,

Would love to know how people have got on with this bracelet? Is it worth the £200 price tag?

Many thanks x

Hi everyone! If, like OP, you're after an Ava bracelet to track your cycle, you can get your hands on one here. MNHQ.

So, I'm a little late to the party on this one. New to mums net. Just purchased Ava (thanks @NoseringGirl for discount code) - keen to here about people's latest experiences. I've got to wait at least two weeks till it comes...

Hi all, what Is your feedback for the Ava bracelet? Thinking of getting one but wants to know if any of you have been successful in getting pregnant?

Report
PinkFlamenco · 24/07/2018 22:00

Hi, mine arrived last week (after a two week wait) and I've been using for the past 7 days. The data it shows is really interesting, but too early to tell if its helped identify best time to try and get pregnant - keeping my fingers crossed though. If you'd like a referral code to get £20 off (as they are pretty pricey) let me know and I can share 😊

Thank you, I’m hoping to hear some reviews before I purchase as it is a lot of money. 3 years TTC so far 😩
Yes please, would love the link.

Aww, I know what you mean @BELewis - I was nervous about buying at first given the price tag and that there wasn't a lot out there in terms of reviews apart from on Ava's website (where they are trying to sell it, so no negatives obvs!!!). From the limited things I had seen and heard though I thought it was worth a shot. We've been trying to conceive for 6 months now and I thought this seemed a more relaxed and (long term) cost effective way to track given the amount of time and money people on Mum's Net were saying they were spending on different testing. It does take about 2 weeks to arrive though and it's good to try and time using it from the start of your cycle in terms of the data collection, so just be mindful of that when ordering. I've sent you the code over in a separate message if you're interested Smile

I've been using mine to track cycles since March but only on our 3rd cycle of properly TTC. I did get pregnant on my last cycle but sadly ended in a chemical. I love my Ava and it does a decent job of predicting my fertile window even though it can vary each month.

BELewis · 24/07/2018 23:14

Thank you both! Think I might just get it! The reviews I have read seem pretty good so worth a try I suppose. I'm out of ideas now, we've tried everything we can think of! Thank you for the code @PinkFlamenco Smile

@NoseringGirl, I'm so sorry to hear that 😪 Appreciate it doesn't probably make it any easier but from what I've read chemical pregnancies are quite common. If you dont mind me asking (please ignore if you do) but did you know it was a pregnancy from your signs and symptoms or did you go to the GP to confirm? Also, with your Ava, how long did you use it for before started shifting your originally predicted fertile dates based on your data? Mine hasn't yet but think that's because it's still early days, and I havent used it for a full cycle.
@BELewis - wishing you all the very best on your pregnancy journey. If you go for an Ava, I hope it takes some of the "tracking stress" out of it for you 😁😁

@PinkFlamenco it took Ava around 3 cycles (including the first partial one) before my fertile window was right. It still sometimes gets moved during my cycle but I get an alert.
My pregnancy was confirmed on pregnancy tests (I did several). GPs don't tend to confirm pregnancy (I've got two children and they've never repeated pregnancy tests or done blood tests) as they say home pregnancy tests are so accurate. Mine just refer straight to the midwife. I didn't get that far though as I started bleeding less than 48 hours after my first positive test.

Hi ladies, I am thinking about getting one but my cycles are all over the place, some are 35 days some 45, will it work? Does anyone have a referral code/discount code I could use? Thanks

Report
NoseringGirl · 25/07/2018 17:20

@Fluffypinksodas if you PM me I can give you a code. Ava doesn't count cycles that are over 35 days in the predictions though so it might not predict your cycles that well. If you usually chart bbt though you'll probably find the temps from Ava give an easier to read pattern.
My cycles vary and since using Ava have usually been between 25-28 days but I had one 34 day anovulatory cycle. It still does a decent job of predicting my cycles though.

PinkFlamenco · 25/07/2018 19:40

Thanks @NoseringGirl - that's really helpful to know. I think I'm just excited to see a couple of cycles worth of data which I think is what is making me inpatient 😊 Really happy with how its working so far though.

Thanks @FifiW14 I've just used your link to get discount to order one Ava. (Waiting time is longer now. They only shipped it out after 2 weeks, I'm still waiting for it to arrive. I guess it's getting more popular.)

I must be the dumbest of all, having been TTC for 7 years and I've just learnt that fertile days are 5 and not only 1-2 per month! >_<

Lots of grief in the past, started by an ectopic pregnancy then followed by 8 rounds of failed IVF, aggressive or mild. Sometimes I get an "empty bona", sometimes chemical pregnancy ... typical LER (low egg reserve) situation.

Afraid of missing the last ship, I've been studying online & books, I learnt that apparently LER doesn't slow speed of natural conception; learnt about the right vitamins & supplements to take, also learnt about Ava. I'm going to take it seriously and follow the advice & instructions, see if it will work out and give me a sorely needed happy ending... will keep you posted.

Once I receive the Ava I'll come back to share the link to return the favor.

Plus I've now got my BFP. Don't rate the pregnancy side of the app that much. But it's not it's primary purpose.

Fantastic news @felicityheather 😊😊

I've used ava for 2 cycles now and find the data really interesting. Just for my own general nosiness @felicityheather did ava give you an indication/alerts to say your data might suggest you are pregnant?

Report
felicityheather · 25/09/2018 08:04

@PinkFlamenco yes and no! I had great trends with hr and br but my temp was useless this month! Both the other parameters looked triphasic.

Got ava for 30 days, so far it predicted 2 times ovulation, I am not that convinced. I'm under impression that it is simply "calculating the dates based on the past data I've input" and not using live bio statistics it is supposed to collect from me. I'm waiting for it to gather more data from me to "know me better" and see if it works any better.

Right after I got Ava, it predicted I was going to ovulate in a few days. On the predicted day, it says no enough sign show I've actually ovulated and suggested me TTC another day. -- However I got my period 19 days after that day, which is different to my expected 12-14 days gap between ovulation and period.

Now, almost a month later, 30 days after I've got Ava, it is predicting ovulation in 4 days. However I already got ovulation pain yesterday. (following 2-3 days of cervical mucus), either my pain & mucus was false alarm or Ava didn't get that message from my body. (I did forget to wear Ava for the first time, 2 days ago though, but only once.)

As promised, here is my referral code, feel free to use it to get £20 off

I wasn’t sure about buying Ava but after TTC for 15 months I gave in. On the second month of wearing it I fell pregnant and would recommend it to anyone trying. It’s a lot of money, but even when you’re pregnant the app is really good. Plus, I would’ve given anything to get pregnant! 5 weeks and counting!

Hi All,

We have been TTC a 2nd child for 3 years now and in this time I have been diagnosed with PCOS. Looking on the Ava website it says it doesn't work with PCOS if cycles are longer than 35 days. Some of my cycles are pretty long. Just wondering if anyone with PCOS/long cycles has tried the AVA and if yes did the temp charts show ovulation?

Thanks!

MommaBeeee · 08/10/2018 00:26

I really wouldn’t buy it if your cycles aren’t regular or if you have PCOS.

My cycles aren't regular, but I've found it good for temp tracking (takes all the faff out of morning bbt) it's easy to spot when ov happened - and also is goimg to happen, by looking at the daily data, even if the ava predictions are wrong
