December Bus - Christmas Wishes

Hi all,

I’ve decided to take the plunge and make a December Bus. I know it’s still early in Nov but for those of us whose cycles fall early in the month it’ll be nice for us to have a new thread!

I’m 23
TTC #1
Cycle: 2

Had so many symptoms in October (unusual for my regular AF) so felt so disappointed when it wasn’t meant to be.

Anyway let’s hope December is our month and hope for that Christmas surprise! SmileHalloween GrinStar

Been trying out those clearblue smiley face ovulation tests for the first time this week
... really impressed! Way better than the cheap green ones! Though much more expensive too! Thought I'd try them out to pinpoint ovulation more specifically at least just for this month. Currently getting flashing smiley faces and increasing (almost) ewcm so going to try and dtd every day until fw is all over... eeeek! What's the deal with legs in the air after bd? Is that a real thing? I just lay on my back afterwards last night and went to sleep...

louella99 · 16/11/2017 21:51

Think I need to invest in some of these clearblue ovulation tests. Haha I've never gone as far as legs in the air but I must admit I do stay lying down

peterpanwendy · 17/11/2017 06:13

@surreygirl1987 @louella99 my best friend swears blind it was legs in the air that helped her conceive first time!

Hahaha. Maybe in a few more months I'll try it if nothing's worked by then!!
The those clearblue tests are awesome - I'll probably only try them this one minth but just wanted reassurance that I was getting the right info from the cheapies. As it turned out I got a solid smiley face on the clearblue today AND an almost equally strong second line on my cheapy eBay test today... so i can confirm that the cheap option seems to do the trick 😁 now need to muster the energy to bd today and tomorrow again... Haha.

@NoPirloNoParty welcome! I’m only in my second month so still very new to me too :) Good luck x

@surreygirl1987. I'm using them for the first time this week too 😊

EmJoyorker · 17/11/2017 21:43

I used CB advanced for the first time this month. I got 10 days of flashing smilies and then gave up. I'm not sure whether to try again next week or not. My periods are so irregular at the moment.

OurNextAdventure · 17/11/2017 22:10

Hello everyone

My first ever post on MN!

I'm joining the December Bus

TTC #1
Age: 34
Cycle #1
BFP: (not 100% sure what this acronym means but if it means when is AF or positive a test due that's: 1 Jan (I'm hoping for extra reasons to celebrate on New Year's Eve!)

I'm so excited to start trying, and so scared too.

Started using clear blue digital this cycle and BBT thermometer just so I can get to know my cycle. No BD this month as I have the flu and that's not sexy lol

Good luck everyone!!!!

Babydreaming · 18/11/2017 06:49

@ournextadventure welcome! I’m in a similar situation. Officially trying next month (when our little boy is 1 year old) but using this month to get my head back in the gain, track ovulation etc! It’s exciting but scary. I’ll be about 10dpo on 1st Jan and I’m tempted to test then too just cus it would be a great way to start the new year (but not certain when I will ovulate this month or next so who knows!)

I think BFP means big fat positive...someone correct me if I’m wrong?!

OurNextAdventure · 18/11/2017 10:22

@babydreaming thank you for the welcome! It's so nice to see so many of us on this virtual bus...I so hope lots of us have the BFP next month (thanks for clarifying it's meaning...I'm still learning the lingo).

I'm the same with not really knowing when I'll ovulate...it's day 7 of "flashy smiley face" on the clear blue monitor which seems odd. Hopefully by next month we will have a clearer idea of when we ovulate as cant see hubby and I doing the bd for 7+ days in a row (sadly lol).

Fingers crossed your baby number 2 will be along in 2018! Sending you buckets of baby dust xx

nk1605 · 18/11/2017 13:29

Hope you don't mind me joining. I'm ttc #2. Dd is now nearly 3 and was a surprise so I'm new to consciously planning to conceive.

Cycle #1 ttc ended in AF arriving last Monday. So I'm now on CD6 again and ready to give the Sperm Meets Egg Plan a go from CD8. I'll be using OPKs but not temping.

Good luck to everyone!

LookingAtTheStars89 · 18/11/2017 15:35

Is anyone trying baby aspirin this month? x

Funkyemzie · 18/11/2017 17:47

Ok so jumping on the bus again this month. Stats:

TTC #2
BFP due 8th Dec
Age 36
Months TTC 8, now on cycle 9.

So last month was the shortest ever at 24 days and my period was very light and only 3 days...never happened before, normally 5 days or more. Anyway, this pineapple thing I read earlier...i eat pineapple like it bloody going out of fashion, literally everyday! Never had a positive opk so this cycle got a load of cheapies an going to start testing tomorrow twice a day. Think I'm now going to hold off on my beloved pineapple this month!

What does baby aspirin do??? Xxx

LookingAtTheStars89 · 18/11/2017 18:34

@Funkyemzie. Correct me if I'm wrong but i think you're supposed to eat the pineapple after ovulation. Others on here will correct me if I'm wrong but I think it makes your "environment" too acidic if you eat it before x

louella99 · 18/11/2017 18:48

Oh wow I never ever eat pineapple, either before or after ovulation haha.. there are so many suggested dos and donts I lose track sometimes! Not doing baby aspirin @Looking, are you?

Funkyemzie · 18/11/2017 18:57

Ah, right i'll hold off on the pineapple, you never know!! I'll be honest I'll try everything, lol!

Owlpatrol · 18/11/2017 19:01

Heya newbies! How's everyone doing this weekend? I'm feeling a bit deflated today I know I probably played yesterday or today and we havent dtd at all apart from once last week which was too early. I tried to pounce this morning but didn't really work and we stopped half way through sorry tmi. And tonight I just don't feel it'll happen .... looking like January bus already for me Sad

Owlpatrol · 18/11/2017 19:02

Ovulated** yesterday

LookingAtTheStars89 · 18/11/2017 19:30

@louella99 I'm going to ask my GP on Monday and see what she says, if she gives it the thumbs up then i will try it.

@Funkyemzie Im going to try the pineapple thing this month too.

I've also started a new pre natal - Seven Seas Trying For A Baby, b6 complex and vitamin D. There is vitamin D in the seven seas too but I tend to have lower levels of vitamin D so I thought taking the two things can't do any harm.

I'm supposed to be giving up sugar but I'm finding it really hard! I'm a bit curvy so freaking out that my size will hamper my chances :-(

@Owlpatrol Don't be deflated. I hope I'm not over sharing but my other half has quite bad sleep apnea so he falls asleep really easy and once he's fallen asleep there's no waking him up! We are suppose to be every other night but if he falls asleep we have to miss a night. I know we shouldn't expect them to "perform on command" but when you know it's your fertile window and you can't dtd it is frustrating! I have decided this month to take a bit of the pressure off him and bought some of those clear blue ovulation sticks and said we will stick to those dates and we don't have to do it before or after that time if he doesn't feel up to it.

Sorry if that was a massive ramble everyone or I said the wrong thing x

Owlpatrol · 18/11/2017 19:32

Not at all @LookingAtTheStars89 it's cheered me up knowing I'm not the only one in the same boat! Xx

LookingAtTheStars89 · 18/11/2017 19:50

@Owlpatrol You're definitely not alone x

Fia256 · 18/11/2017 20:00

Ahh @Owlpatrol I’ve had months like that. One month dh kept falling asleep each night and no matter how hard I tried I could not get him to wake and get in the mood. I even sobbed one night as I was so frustrated with him. Coincidentally I actually got a bfp that month somehow! So I’m proof that on the months your convinced you’ve missed your chance it can still happen Smile

Babydreaming · 19/11/2017 07:07

Eeeeeek. Need some advice!

So we were planning to start trying after my next period as ideally wanted a September onwards baby (plus more convenient time with my work). We are off contraception though and we’re just planning to avoid unprotected sex in fertile week this month.

So we dtd last night which is apparently one day before my fertile period according to Ovia and on Glow said a 14% chance so I thought it would probably be okay. I tested for ovulation this morning on a cheapie and the 2nd line is as dark as the control within 3 minutes.... I’m assuming this means I’m ovulating earlier than predicted? My apps say 22nd.

I don’t mind at all if it happens early but just want to get my head around it if it is a possibility and maybe think about when to test!

Owlpatrol · 19/11/2017 07:28

Yes this happens to me some months @Babydreaming the good news is that the sperms are meant to already be there when ovulation happens so this is all good news for you! Try to wait to test until missed Af xxx fingers crossed!
