December Bus - Christmas Wishes

Hi all,

I’ve decided to take the plunge and make a December Bus. I know it’s still early in Nov but for those of us whose cycles fall early in the month it’ll be nice for us to have a new thread!

I’m 23
TTC #1
Cycle: 2

Had so many symptoms in October (unusual for my regular AF) so felt so disappointed when it wasn’t meant to be.

Anyway let’s hope December is our month and hope for that Christmas surprise! SmileHalloween GrinStar

I’d gone into this month with that attitude but then my closest friend announced her pregnancy and I ended up buying a bloody clear blue advanced monitor instead! Grin

I think it’s definitely the best way though to just do it the natural way!

spydie · 14/11/2017 11:24

Im not either but I did get an app so I could at least track what is going on and when!

louella99 · 14/11/2017 11:30

I've been using Ovia. Always thought my cycles were like clockwork but have been tracking sInce May and they're a bit inconsistent. Probably better to be informed about what's actually going on. What apps do you all use (if any)?

Merrz · 14/11/2017 12:23

@BaliBound I started off using opks like a mad woman for the last 7 cycles but that clearly hasn't worked so this cycle we're just going down the relaxed route and trying to read my body rather than just looking at sticks.
Sunday afternoon I was incredibly horny sorry if tmi Blush yesterday had strange af type pains in my left side and today lots of cm so guessing i am or have ovulated at some point over the last day or so?!

spydie · 14/11/2017 12:48

@louella I'm using ovia. I also though my cycles were pretty regular but they are not currently so it's definitely helping to keep track of things!

heavenforbid · 14/11/2017 13:44

What’s ovia like? I’m using Flo and it’s quite easy to use/looks nice but because my cycles are still long and a bit irregular I don’t know how accurate it is! Debating getting a different app (or just a second one haha) but not sure if there’s much difference between them?

Babydreaming · 14/11/2017 13:50

With my 1st I just used an online ovulation calendar. I tried the OPKs but never got a positive. I got pregnant 1st cycle then though so was clearly ovulating!

This time round I’ve got Ovia too. I am planning on doing opks and I’m actually starting to track my ovulation this month ( we are still using contraception til next month!) so that I get to know my cycle better.

I’ve considered temping...can I just use a regular thermometer? I have one for my little one that seems pretty good. Is it accurate?

I know thIs is a stupid question but when is the ideal time to dtd? Is it when you get positive on opk? Or actually on ovulation day?

louella99 · 14/11/2017 14:00

I do like Ovia but have nothing to compare it to. People who use multiple apps sometimes say they all give different info, so maybe trying another one would just send me mad!

I've never temper so I'm not sure about that. I admire people who do though!

I think if you dtd in the days leading to ovulation, the sperm can wait ready to pounce on the egg. But equality once ovulation occurs the egg lives for a short period so if you dtd during that time you could also catch it x

louella99 · 14/11/2017 14:01

*temped

louella99 · 14/11/2017 14:03

*equally. blinking typos!

Fia256 · 14/11/2017 14:26

I use fertility friend. I did download Ovia as everyone said they used it but I don’t find it as easy to use.

Babydreaming no you need a proper nasal temp one. I made that mistake the first few months Grin

heavenforbid · 14/11/2017 14:34

Haha that’s true, maybe i’ll stick to just the one for now!

I am trying to temp this month, only done it one month before and it was a while ago so don’t really have much to compare it to but hoping I can stick to it this month! I really just want to know if I’m ovulating so seems a good way to check.

Babydreaming you need a two decimal place thermometer as normal ones aren’t accurate enough and I think it has to go up 0.3 of a degree to indicate ovulation (not 100% sure though!). X

franktheskank · 14/11/2017 22:17

Hi guys af started today so I’m hopping on the December bus!

Try baby number 8😬🙊
CD 1

Using digital opk.

Is it possible to dtd too much?me and Dh have an active sex life and I’m sorry if this is tmi, but the days before and on ovulation we have sex once a day, when I’m not ovulating it’s a couple of times a day 🙈 I’m thinking maybe we should be doing it every other day around ovulation to make sure the sperm erm, replenish?

Ems1986 · 14/11/2017 22:43

Hi can I join?

AF unexpectedly arrived today, and a day early just to snap me back to reality so I'm onto month #2. I have fairly regular cycles. I tracking cycles and no contraception except condoms for over a year. Took 7 months to conceive DD following 10 years on the pill and I struggled with the lack of control over knowing what my body was doing. So I'm hoping my planning will mean a nice short TTC journey.

TTC #2 (DD is 3)
Cycle 2
CD 1
AF due 13 dec

Ems1986 · 14/11/2017 22:45

Haha frank - I'll need to make sure my husband doesnt ever find out that women exist who have that high a sex drive, haha

BaliBound · 14/11/2017 22:55

@frank You have 7 children and you managed to dtd that often?! Damn, you must be super woman, Im so envious 😂 We have no kids and just struggle to fit it in. It's not even that we don't want to, just life seems to get in the way!

Going to carry on with my chilled approach until I've ran out of patience. I'm away Fri and Sat this weekend which is annoying because I think it's probably a good time (Assuming I ov on CD14 that would be a week today). O well, we can dtd thurs sun mon and see what happens. Fingers crossed for us all!

franktheskank · 14/11/2017 23:33

Lol well the children are all ages between 10 and 4 so even though it’s a lot of work they’re all at ages where they sleep through in their own bed, pretty easy to manage really! So leaves us with enough time at night and early morning to make some time for each other BlushGrin

we have quite a lot of help and both of us are at home a fair bit too so it’s not as hectic with that many children as you’d thinkSmile

This is the second month of ttc, all the other times we’ve just said ok let’s have a baby and it’s happened so we were disappointed when it didn’t happen this month, I don’t think it’s ever taken me more than one month before so it’s a new experience for me Blush

SydBound27 · 15/11/2017 02:19

Wow @frank that's amazing! You're a fertile fiend! Hope you get your Christmas wish.

Af has arrived a week early, i guess to the procedure i had last week. So bfp due on 14th dec not 21st.

I use ovia, which has been pretty good so far. Not temping or using opks as i get a lot of ewcm and can feel ovulation (pains) so listen to my body.

Fx everyone!

Babydreaming · 15/11/2017 09:16

@frank I wish I had that libido!! I have only one baby but by the end of the day I’m ready to curl up in my bed and sleep! Sex always seems less appealing than sleep (even though I love dh and still find him attractive!)

Bubblegum89 · 15/11/2017 09:21

Hello! Can I join? I’m only on 2dpo but I already know it’s a no-go so may as well forget about it and move on to December.

Age: 28
Ttc: #2
Cycle: 13

Anyone else been trying as long as me? Lol

SydBound27 · 15/11/2017 09:38

@babydreaming I'm the same. After 18 months of trying only to find out through a scan that implantation was pretty much impossible (polyp) my first thought was - "all that wasted sleeping time!" Didn't voice that one to the old dh though lol

LookingAtTheStars89 · 15/11/2017 09:59

@SydBound27 The first thing I thought when AF rocked up on Friday was "Jeez and after I've had all that sex" lol x

Fia256 · 15/11/2017 11:39

Ah I’m in such a good mood today!

Been getting highs on the clear blue monitor for the last 3 days then finally got a positive opk on a cheapie just now! We dtd last night and the night before, so I’m hoping we’ve timed it well this month. Will try to dtd one more time either tonight or tomorrow and hopefully we’ve then timed it perfectly! The last few months we got the timing all wrong and were always too tired during the right time!

Got a prosecco and hot tub party next weekend, so hopefully I’ll be able to test and get an answer in time for that! My cycles seem to be regulating and getting back to normal now after the early miscarriage at the start of sept. Fingers crossed Grin

louella99 · 15/11/2017 12:47

Sounds excellent @Fia !! Splashing out on the monitor is paying off already goes off to google the monitor

Fia256 · 15/11/2017 13:10

I have to admit, I actually got the monitor off of eBay! I couldn’t justify paying over 100! I managed to get a good as new one with a new box of tests for £40! Decided it’s well worth it as I’ll easily be able to sell it on for the same price afterwards!
