December Bus - Christmas Wishes

Hi all,

I’ve decided to take the plunge and make a December Bus. I know it’s still early in Nov but for those of us whose cycles fall early in the month it’ll be nice for us to have a new thread!

I’m 23
TTC #1
Cycle: 2

Had so many symptoms in October (unusual for my regular AF) so felt so disappointed when it wasn’t meant to be.

Anyway let’s hope December is our month and hope for that Christmas surprise! SmileHalloween GrinStar

@peterpanwendy I was the same! And with beautiful filter coffee! I have had a lovely cup today though! x

peterpanwendy · 11/11/2017 23:25

@LookingAtTheStars89 good for you! Why not eh? I have not given up coffee, I still have at least one a week from a proper coffee shop, I have however converted to decaf tea and instant coffee, haven’t even noticed a difference!

@peterpanwendy I'm a loser lol, I've even stopped wearing make up because of the chemicals!

Owlpatrol · 11/11/2017 23:44

After 12 months of trying I can't be without wine nor coffee. Just had a couple tonight it was nice to let the hair down

Babydreaming · 12/11/2017 06:46

I’m already stressing about drinking and next month. My fertile period should end around Xmas day but I would really like to drink at Christmas and we have another family event on the 27th... I think I’m just going to stick to 1 glass of champagne!

What are you all planning to do over Xmas if it’s in 2ww?

piglet81 · 12/11/2017 08:27

I don't give up alcohol etc until I get a BFP (and in my successful pregnancy I had a very occasional glass of wine). Obviously it's up to the individual but I don't feel it's necessary. The placenta isn't formed straight away in any case so alcohol wouldn't be crossing over. You can still have a bit of caffeine when pregnant (200mg a day? I can't remember offhand) so I didn't give up coffee completely either. You should do what you're comfortable with, though Smile

PineapplePrincess · 12/11/2017 16:01

Hello ladies! Hope everyone is well.

Looking to join this bus after a bumpy few weeks. Just recovering from an early miscarraige at 6wks. My second this year, after a MMC at 12wks in February. Feeling fragile, as if this pregnancy had worked out would have been due to announce Xmas week. But not it be, hopefully a BFP that sticks this month would suffice!?!

My stats are:

TTC: #2
Cycle: have lost count, welll over 12 now!?!
Age: 41
BFP Due: Estimate 1st December, however not sure how this cycle will pan out!

Open to ideas increasing chances of a sticky positive. I am willing to try (almost) anything! :-)

peterpanwendy · 12/11/2017 16:28

@Babydreaming Christmas week falls smack bang in the middle of the 2WW for me if this month doesn’t work. That’s stressful to think about! I will have bubbly so no one is suspicious but won’t go overboard and will still have coffee and the like :)

Hi, I'd like to join too!

TTC 1
Cycle 2
Age 32

Due to test on 4th December.

I'm taking pregnacare conception vitamins, but we're not doing anything else special at the moment. I'm thinking of doing the whole temperature and charting thing but maybe I'll start in a couple of months, hopefully it'll happen with little stress before then. Fingers crossed, and fingers crossed for everyone else too.

I've given up caffeine, down from 5 coffees a day to an occasional cup of tea. I'm not going to give up alcohol until I have to though! I'll be in the two week wait over xmas next cycle and plan on drinking moderately, definitely not as excessive as I usually would over Christmas.

Owlpatrol · 12/11/2017 16:33

Yep @piglet81 I'm with you there. if I didn't drink through my tww that's a lot of weeks this year of feeling even more depressed! It's not over till the bfp haha!

MrsHarker · 12/11/2017 20:47

Hopping on from the November thread as got bfn today. Best wishes to all x

ATTENTION! Ladies, did you know your can buy bromelian (not sure if that's right lol) you know the pineapple core thing, in tablet form! No more munching cores! Lol x

LookingAtTheStars89 · 12/11/2017 21:56

You're supposed to be careful of the dosage though apparently x

LookingAtTheStars89 · 12/11/2017 22:02

Oh man it looks like the UK only sells like 500mg which I assume is quite high :-( x

LookingAtTheStars89 · 12/11/2017 22:16

Sorry for the false hope ladies!!!

SydBound27 · 12/11/2017 22:42

I'm with you ladies - not giving up the wine/coffee/soft cheese until a confirmed bfp.. These 18 months ttc #2 would have been a lot more depressing otherwise! I went to a wedding in my tww for my dd and she's good as gold. Obviously stopped after that!

How'd all the pre fw shagging go this weekend? I'm really struggling to keep the spark there (only seem to dtd in fw these days which is sad) so i think i need to invest in some sexy knickers and get the party started lol

Owlpatrol · 12/11/2017 23:11

Aww @SydBound27 that made me laugh! We've dtd this weekend and 5 days before fw I was a bit "tight" sorry tmi so wasn't sure how it'd go but we enjoyed it. Just need to keep the momentum up next few days! We can do this girl x

Fia256 · 13/11/2017 03:01

We kept dtd too much before fertile week in the last few months. Then by the time it was needed we both could hardly be bothered. So I’m taking a risk this month and holding off until then lol! Then hopefully will catch it at the right time!

Confused this month though. Normally ovulate around CD17 so quite late. On CD13 now and had as close to a positive IC opk yesterday and ewcm but the clear blue monitor said low! Will be interesting to see what it says in the morning. Dtd last night just incase but hoping that doesn’t screw up my plans Grin

louella99 · 13/11/2017 14:08

It can be hard trying to strike the balance between dtd at the right times.. but not losing spontaneity and not putting massive pressure on yourselves. I struggle with opks but I think it's because I don't use them as regularly as I should. Just trying to dtd as regularly as possible but I work shifts so we often go 2/3 nights in a row without seeing each other, which doesn't help!

Owlpatrol · 13/11/2017 19:21

Hehe @Fia256 you make me laugh!

I did a opk this morning currently only cd9 as AF short this month. Got rid of the old swimmers lol by dtd before fw! Does that even matter!?! Its hard getting the right balance I agree with you @louella99 to be fair I doubt we will do it again before the weekend as shifts don't match this week either

Owlpatrol · 13/11/2017 19:22

Forgot to say on opk ic test it was a faint line! So I'll keep testing next few days...that would also mean l could be early ovulation this month

Fia256 · 13/11/2017 19:40

Got my first high on the clear blue monitor this morning! Then a nearly positive IC opk this evening. So hopefully it’ll happen over the next few days!
I feel like I’m setting myself up for a huge fall though. I have a good feeling about this cycle and I don’t know why. It’s only going to end in tears if I get my hopes up too much then AF shows!

Aridia · 13/11/2017 20:10

Thank you @peterpanwendy for making this thread! I'm hoping over from the November bus too, although I'd been a bit quiet there as I've been struggling a bit with feeling like this is never going to happen.

@CoconutGal I understand how you're feeling, I think I'm feeling quite similar. Its so hard seeing people with babies and hearing more and more pregnancy announcements. I so want to be happy for my friends, but it hurts a lot :(

So here goes another month:

Age 30
TTC #1
Cycle 7/8
CD 5
Endometriosis and Adenomyosis
Taking vitabiotics pregnacare his and hers.

Good luck! Christmas baby dust all around! Lol!

BaliBound · 14/11/2017 10:22

Is anyone else not temping/using opks?

We're going down the relaxed route and just dtd more often in the middle 10 days. I'm probably not putting enough effort in am I? Blush

louella99 · 14/11/2017 11:07

You've probably got the right idea! I'm not temping and I did try opks but I could rarely get anything close to a positive. I'm just trying to dtd but the closest I got to fw last cycle was cd 8, cd 10, cd 15 and cd 20 due to working opposite shifts. Must try harder!
