December Bus - Christmas Wishes

Hi all,

I’ve decided to take the plunge and make a December Bus. I know it’s still early in Nov but for those of us whose cycles fall early in the month it’ll be nice for us to have a new thread!

I’m 23
TTC #1
Cycle: 2

Had so many symptoms in October (unusual for my regular AF) so felt so disappointed when it wasn’t meant to be.

Anyway let’s hope December is our month and hope for that Christmas surprise! SmileHalloween GrinStar

OPKs are up and down for me this week but still no positive. It's quite interesting to keep a timeline though so you can see the fluctuations! I'm CD13 now though and still no positive. Though it looks to be on the up again so hoping this increase will lead to a positive in the next few days. It's weird though cos last cycle I was getting blanks til CD18...Anyone else had their OPKs fade in and out until their positive?

Hi all!

Age: 30
TTC: 1
Early MC: September 2017
Cycle since MC: 2

Really hoping for some better news to share with the family at Christmas than last time. I should be testing around 8th December, I think we've DTD bang on 2 days before and day of ovulation so fingers crossed.

Is anyone else here TTC after a MC?

X

Welcome newcomers!

@Gem173 I think we're at similar stages of our cycle. Will this be your first try of SMEP? Have others on here got experience of it? I'm on cd 3 but planning to try SMEP in December

LookingAtTheStars89 · 25/11/2017 21:57

@sophherts I'm sorry for your loss. I had a miscarriage at the end of August. I've had two periods since then. I will be testing around about the same time as you, although I'm not sure if I've ovulated yet or not!

Gem173 · 25/11/2017 22:08

@louella99 yes I think we are, this will be first time I’m trying the SMEP, as I’m on cycle 2 actively trying (cycle 3 since pill). Think AF is coming to an end tonight, so hopefully can start dtd soon and start doing opks.

Gem173 · 25/11/2017 22:10

@louella99 today is cd 5 and tomorrow cd 6, so not too long of a wait to start dtd. I decided to try the SMEP method after reading the SMEP thread on mumsnet and seeing people getting positives pretty quickly. Thought it would be worth a try

sophherts · 25/11/2017 22:15

@LookingAtTheStars89 so sorry for your loss too. Fingers crossed for a happier outcome this time!

My ovulation is luckily v obvious from cervical mucus and ovary pain so I know when it's happening. X

nk1605 · 25/11/2017 23:16

@louella99 I'm following the SMEP this month too. I'm on CD13 and still DTD every other day as I haven't got my positive OPK yet. (we did have a slip up last night where it didn't quite go to plan so dtd tonight and tomorrow to make up for it, then will go back to every other day again til that positive OPK shows!)

Though if you don't get a positive OPK, the plan says to keep dtd until CD35... 😨

Mandala23 · 25/11/2017 23:37

@peterpan ah nice to have someone in a similar boat! 😊 I’m counting it as cycle 2 but could be cycle 3 really - I had an early miscarriage in the summer and then was on a god awful pill for a couple of months to try and re-regulate but it kind of just screwed up my hormones! Fx for our BFPs! X

franktheskank · 25/11/2017 23:59

I’m just going to wait until my period is late this cycle, but we will see , I’ll probably change my mind!

We’re trying to dtd every other day around ovulation which is hard for us as we usually did once a day if not more 🙈but apparently every other day can be better as it gives more time for the sperm to replenish (is that the right word🤔😂)

AJ89 · 26/11/2017 00:51

I’m following SMEP this month too, currently 6dpo and followed it correctly. Not going to test early this month (I hope) as I spent so much on tests last cycle lol

Sperm Meets Egg Plan. It's pretty sensible advice actually. You can download it on kindle. It basiclly tells you when to dtd.

I cracked and took a cheapy hpt this morning... bit stupid at 8dpo... and obvs bfn. But am excited as my temperature has rocketed overnight and at 7dpo apparently that could be a post-implantatiom progesterone surge! Breasts hurt loads but then that's normal for me. This is my first month temping semi-properly so I might always have this at high temp at 8dpo.. who knows! Anyone else charting and how are you getting on?

Owlpatrol · 26/11/2017 09:18

@surreygirl1987 we are cycle buddies! I'm 8dpo today I've done my temps this morning and they've been going down for the last 5 days so I'm not feeling so positive this month Sad

LookingAtTheStars89 · 26/11/2017 09:43

Oh my days - flashing smiley for the 6th day! I'm so worried that I'm not ovulating :-(. I'm on cd17 now!

surreygirl1987 · 26/11/2017 09:43

Ooh when are you testing? AF is due 2nd decembet for me I think; I'm hosting a Xmas party that day so will be either celebrating or comisserating (both sectetly of course). Don't be disheartened - I read an article this morning and it said that while having this shift is a bonus, in actuality 88% of women who are pregnant don't follow the 'ideal chart' pattern. Basically you're not out until AT arrives! Now I have to go outside and plant a hedge with my in-laws who are visiting when all I want to do is obsessively Google tww and stalk mumsnet haha.

surreygirl1987 · 26/11/2017 09:45

@lookingatthestars I've heard of other women having this problem to with the clearblue. In any case even if you did get a solid smiley it's not proof of ovulation anyway - just an indicator of LH surge! Are you temping? Would he interesting to see if your temp goes up so you can try to pinpoint it.

Owlpatrol · 26/11/2017 09:45

Lol @surreygirl1987 that made me laugh. My Af is apparently due the 4th but I usually get spotting couple of days before. I'm thinking of testing on the 1st.
Hope you have a great day! X

nk1605 · 26/11/2017 09:48

@LookingAtTheStars89 I didn't get a positive OPK until CD18 last month. So I probably didn't OV til CD19 or 20. So there is still hope!

LookingAtTheStars89 · 26/11/2017 10:02

Thanks everyone. I don't think I'd be as bad if I wasn't waiting for bloods to come back re hormones and thyroid. I'm worrying myself that there's an issue. I'm hoping I will get the results tomorrow.

@surreygirl1987 Yeah I have read the same things. I'm not telling as I'm not the best sleeper so I'm not sure how accurate it would be.

Babydreaming · 26/11/2017 10:05

IM due on Tues 5th but I have engagement drinks on Sat 2nd so I’ll do a test that morning! If BFN I’ll drink as before I’ve had BFP by 10dpo (I appreciate that every pregnancy different but I think possibility low considering we only dtd once and it was first day of fertile period!)

Babydreaming · 26/11/2017 10:07

I’m excited that some of us are getting to the testing stage...hopefully lots of BFPs on their way!!

FruitandNutty · 26/11/2017 10:11

@owlpatrol I think that as long as your temps stay above cover line then that’s a good sign even if they are going down! Fx for you.

I am worried today as I have a uti and just took Cephalexin. The doc said it’s fine to take while ttc but I am nervous that maybe it will kill off dh’s swimmers and possibly harm the egg/bean as I only ovulated 2 days ago... anyone know anything about this?

LookingAtTheStars89 · 26/11/2017 10:17

@FruitandNutty. Don't worry, I took antibiotics for a uti when I was ttc my daughter, I told him I was ttc and he said it would be fine and she's say in the back of the car now (I'm a passenger in the car by the way lol not driving!!)
