December Bus - Christmas Wishes

Hi all,

I’ve decided to take the plunge and make a December Bus. I know it’s still early in Nov but for those of us whose cycles fall early in the month it’ll be nice for us to have a new thread!

I’m 23
TTC #1
Cycle: 2

Had so many symptoms in October (unusual for my regular AF) so felt so disappointed when it wasn’t meant to be.

Anyway let’s hope December is our month and hope for that Christmas surprise! SmileHalloween GrinStar

Gem and Funkyemzie - snap! I had an odd two day AF this month too and it never happens, I’m normally a 5 day kinda person. Trying to forget about that now. Feeling a bit more positive today as I just got my first positive OPK (it’s my first month of trying opk). Have dtd so much last week or so and now here’s me thinking we could have saved ourselves for now lol! Although we have been having fun of course. Just waiting for dh to come back home so we can get to bd as much as poss this weekend!!

FruitandNutty · 24/11/2017 20:26

Ps. Do you think best to do like tonight and tomorrow morning or when is best if positive OPK this evening?

Mandala23 · 24/11/2017 23:03

Hey everyone! Currently on AF so hopping over to this bus!
TTC: #1
Cycle: 2 (ish)
Age: 23

peterpanwendy · 25/11/2017 06:46

@Mandala23 welcome! I'm 23 and also on cycle 2 :)

More blood this morning, still pinkish. woken up far too early and can't get back to sleep and feeling a bit sick, could be completely unrelated but makes me think something is going on down there!

This has never happened to me before and I've been off the pill for over a year (using condoms) but never ever had random bleeding.

Bought some FRER yesterday. I'm only CD 22 so not sure when to take one.

@peterpan how exciting!! Definitely sounds hopeful. After the implantation I started to feel some minor symptoms. I also couldn’t sleep well, this got worse after getting my BFP but not sure whether that was excitement and anxiety!! I tested at 10dpo (4 days after the implantation) and got a faint BFP. Everyone is different though...the longer you can wait the more accurate it will be but I know it’s so hard to wait!

Babydreaming · 25/11/2017 07:26

@peterpan... also funny that you think 6.45 is early to wake!! That would be a lie in for me! I have an 11 month old who loves the wake at 5.30 everyday....sure you want that BFP?! Haha!

peterpanwendy · 25/11/2017 08:54

@Babydreaming I will give it a go at 10dpo, I'm very impatient!

6am is early for me on a weekend, I am a reception teacher so mon-fri I work very full-on 12 hour days and by Friday night/sat morn I am shattered and normally sleep a good 10 hours haha!

ARGHHHH! CD16 AND STILL FLASHING SMILEY!!

Babydreaming · 25/11/2017 09:10

Lookingatthestars are you doing the cheapie sticks too? I like to be able to see if the line is getting darker so I can see I’m making progress!

FruitandNutty · 25/11/2017 09:13

Sorry LookingAtTheStars I have no experience of the flashy smileys, but they sound frustrating! I have been using the Boots opk and it worked for me, plus I’ve been using a Persona and that is also allowing me to test in the mornings. So I have two opks a day. So I mentioned I had a positive opk yesterday, i then did bbt this morning and it has spiked already, does that mean my chance for conception is now over? Or should I dtd today??

Owlpatrol · 25/11/2017 09:21

I know what you mean @FruitandNutty it's so confusing and my temps have done the same this month. I'd say that when you start getting a faint opk that's when you deffo need to dtd as the sperms have to be there when the egg is released waiting x

LookingAtTheStars89 · 25/11/2017 14:56

@Babydreaming No I'm not doing cheapies at hug minute but I might pick some up tomorrow. I have done a couple of the clear blue sticks in the evening as well as in the morning to see if the result was different.

@FruitandNutty Whats a persona?

We've just been dtd every other day and hoping for the best! The blood tests I had done yesterday might let me know if anything has happened already but by then I would have missed it lol. I hoping every other day is enough!

FruitandNutty · 25/11/2017 15:29

@Lookingatthestars89 Persona is technically a contraceptive digital tracker that shows you red days and green days by testing your pee every morning in the same way as an opk. But people use it in reverse when ttc. So they have sex on red days when the machine has detected your lh surge.

Enirroc7 · 25/11/2017 15:50

Hi all. Permission to hop aboard the December bus!

Age: 30
TTC: #1
Cycle: 1

I'm a completely newbie to mumsnet, TTC and all things remotely baby-related. In fact, I've not even told any of my friends about TTC so this is the only place at the moment where I feel comfortable enough to ask for advice and information. Feeling slightly nervous but mostly very excited about the journey ahead.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 25/11/2017 16:22

@Enirroc7. Welcome aboard :-)

Owlpatrol · 25/11/2017 17:24

Hello welcome @Enirroc7 you've come to the right place! I'm 29 and now trying for a year and the support on here has been everything to me x

Gem173 · 25/11/2017 17:35

Have bought a bbt thermometer so next cycle will hopefully see when I ovulate, was hoping this would cut down the cost of using opks 24/7. Been a long week and weekend, sorry I haven’t been updating but not much to report, will hopefully be starting the SMEP soon, if AF settles down..

HoneyCake86 · 25/11/2017 17:56

Enirroc welcome! There’s many experienced TTCers on here so don’t hesitate to ask if you're stuck on something.

I believe i OV’d today, my pelvis hurrttss. My cervix was positioned so low (TMI sorry) so sex was uncomfortable. But hopefully i had done enough.
Hope everyone’s well, and much more comfy than me atm 😂

surreygirl1987 · 25/11/2017 18:53

When's everyone else testing? I'm very tempted go test tomorrow although at 8dpo I know it's too early... arghhh I hate waiting!! Driving myself crazy with symptoms that I KNOW arent symptoms cos I get sore breasts and cramps randomly around this time every month anyway but can't help myself from analysing every tiny twinge!! What is it about tww that turns fairly sensible women into obsessive crazies!!!

Also you know how pregnancy tests say things like 'can detect 6 days before period'? Surely it's about dpo not when period is due? Isn't it?? Is it relevant when your period is due? Just reading a frer box and getting confused!

surreygirl1987 · 25/11/2017 18:55

@gem173 bbt is a really good method but can get totally addictive! Also re cost of opks... have you come across the cheap ones you can bulk buy on eBay?? I tried them out this month along with the expensive clearblue ones and found the cheapies aligned with what clearblue said so assuming they're accurate! So you can use a couple a day without worrying about the expense :)

Enirroc7 · 25/11/2017 19:19

@LookingAtTheStars89 @Owlpatrol and @HoneyCake86 thanks for the warm welcome Smile

I've had a look at a few opks but I've not got the foggiest idea regarding them. Which brand is the best to use and how accurate are they? How often are you meant to use them?

I'm torn between just 'seeing how we get on' and trying to plan things to a T (if that's even possible) Confused I thought the TTC decision was the hardest thing but I'm starting to realise that the process is such an emotional roller coaster.

Also, @surreygirl1987 raises a good question that I'm confused about...when is the earliest that you can use FRERs? Or is it just best to wait and see if AF makes an appearance, despite how nerve-wracking that might be??

Owlpatrol · 25/11/2017 19:27

Well @Enirroc7 just a pre warning the first few months I was very carefree and just waited to see which is the best way them I started using the ovulation tests after about 4 months it helps to see when you exactly ovulate to know when the best time to do it is....i personally get the cheap ones on Amazon

Owlpatrol · 25/11/2017 19:29

Also testing before Af is due is a personal preference the frer tests are the most reliable from what I've ready you can test fairly reliably 4 days before Af due although some of us crazies test a week before!

Enirroc7 · 25/11/2017 19:44

Thank you so much for the advice. It's still early days but i'll keep you all posted. I'm keeping my eyes peeled on this thread and wishing you all best wishes, lots of luck and BFPs Smile Smile

Gem173 · 25/11/2017 19:56

@surreygirl1987 yes I do know of those bulk opks, I will invest in some more alongside temping :)
