December Bus - Christmas Wishes

Hi all,

I’ve decided to take the plunge and make a December Bus. I know it’s still early in Nov but for those of us whose cycles fall early in the month it’ll be nice for us to have a new thread!

Had so many symptoms in October (unusual for my regular AF) so felt so disappointed when it wasn’t meant to be.

Anyway let’s hope December is our month and hope for that Christmas surprise!

I'm cd22 today and had a weird burning sensation on the right and centre all day. Last cycle was 35 days so ovia app thinks today is likely peak fertile day. But cycles used to be 27/28 days so could be much earlier. Not using OPK's (would probably help). Had lots of ewcm on Monday and nothing since so it's a complete guessing game.

I’m going to jump on this bus, even though I wasn’t sure about really trying this month, as it’ll be awkward not drinking over Christmas! But as it’s only month #2, I have no idea how easy it’ll be. I may as well try & any disappointment will be helped by Christmas wine. & my next FW will fall between Xmas & NYE. Handy!

@heavenforbid Ha Ha yeah by the time you get to cd18 and you've done it every other day it's like "Really? Again?" Lol. I'm not doing too bad with it this cycle - I don't mean to be tmi but I find suggesting a quickie a bit easier if it's a day when you're not really feeling it x

@merrz hello again, I recognise you from another board! It’s good to know that you are in a similar position too. That’s such a lovely way to help the time passing seem less difficult. I might try that too. Really hoping we both get our bfps soon.. I’m feeling a bit more positive after seeing everyone on this thread!

Yes thats correct bella.. i did another this evening to double check and the line is getting stronger... i reckon its just beginning to surge and tomorrow will be the day

It has to match or be stronger than the control line to be positive. Yesterday it was completely neg without even a shadow of a second line, so im optimistic about it. I bought these ones from amazon 20 + 10 preg test strips for £4. Bargain :)

My best friend gave birth today and I’ve spent my evening cuddling her tiny baby. So broody it hurts 😭 please let this be my month!

And me I’m so broody too that I want to go to mothercare buy everything now and decorate the baby’s room.. I’m not pregnant yet! So I feel stupid

@Owlpatrol, same here, when I do get pregnant I’m gunna go mad 😂

@Gem173 how are you getting on with the SMEP? I'm CD12, still dtd every other day as I haven't got my positive OPK yet

Lookingatthestars I’ve only used those once but it took me a week to get a static face! Keep going 😊

FruitandNutty yes i think these threads do really help you feel less alone about it all. Where about are you in this cycle? Af is due next week for me and this is the longest 2ww yet!

When we started ttc our plan was to just see what happens and not stress for a few months and if i wasn't pregnant by Nov we'd have a few months off then start officially ttc in spring next year but in my head i just assumed i would be pregnant by now and i didn't expect to get so obsessed and mental about about it so this month feels like a bit of pressure, i don't think i can bring myself to have a break from trying now although i haven't told dh my this

I used the CB advanced digital for the first time last month. I had 10 days of flashing smilies before I gave up 😩 i used it yesterday and low fertility. Today it's shown the test sign and book which means retest so I've used 3 today with the same symbol. What a waste and they are so expensive! I might give them a ring.

So i think its a definite positive today the lines match... but i dont think i have OV’d just yet.. ov pain is building but its not excruciating yet so i think later this afternoon. BD’d last night and night before but we’re going away tonight... if we didnt BD tonight, it wouldnt be bad would it? I mean there should still be spermage knocking about waiting wouldn’t there?

That's positive @HoneyCake86 so you'll more than likely ovulate tomorrow I'd say as a guess

Lookingatthestars i can imagine how bloody frustrating that is... i wonder how high a level that test wants to give a static smiley, particularly with what jojo said there? 🤔 i mean wouldn’t a surge of any kind be a good sign. Perhaps some women’s levels dont peak as high as others when ovulating i dunno. Sounds like a right pain because of not being able to pinpoint an exact day. Would it help to test twice a day, just incase it hits peak and drops again in a small space of time? The ov test i did yesterday went faint to strong within 8 hours of each other. Fx that static appears soon xx

It is really frustrating! Especially when I got up early to take it so that if it was static dh and I could Drs lol. I'm worried that I will miss my peak We have dtd every other day since flo left so I'm hoping there will be enough soldiers hanging around in there! I wanted to pinpoint ovulation so that we could go it on peak day too.

@HoneyCake86 I tried testing in the afternoon yesterday but it was still a flashing smiley lol

@JoJoyorker Yeah they are expensive! I used My last one today so I will have to get some more. It must have changed a bit because for the first few days I got a blank circle.

I got 19 days of flashing smilies from the throw away clear blue tests. Honestly wanted to throw them at someone. Although my cycle did end up being 79 days long after coming off the coil so that may have had something to do with it.
Not started using them yet this cycle

I've just bought the clearblue digital ovulation kit and was looking forward to using it (on cd 2 today so a while to go yet).

But those stories above have lowered my expectations haha! Sorry to hear about the problems you've had with them
