Joining this thread. After three years TTC on and off, we had an early MC last year. Now TTC number 2. I am forty. Good luck to us (and all) x

KerryLeanne84 · 18/10/2017 11:54

Thanks filly! Sounds like they really listened to you which is great!

Re progesterone I was given it after iui although my consultant said the same thing - there's no evidence it works or makes a difference. However it's so cheap and so the view is that they might as well give it to women rather than have them worrying about their luteal phase or spotting etc.

KerryLeanne84 · 18/10/2017 11:57

Here's an article with more info about the luteal phase which is really useful - basically women can ovulate at different points in their cycle - i.e. Day 12,15,18 - this can be affected by diet, supplements, stress etc and of course can be affected after a mc

www.kindara.com/blog/what-is-a-luteal-phase-and-why-is-it-important

Generally the luteal phase (time between ovulation and menstruation) stays exactly the same - mine is always 10 days

Professionals only get worried if your luteal phase is less than 10 days.

Is it bad that I keep seeing aspirin popping up but no idea what it is or where to get it? Is it a particular type? 🤷‍♀️

Fillybee · 18/10/2017 12:43

Really glad you guys found it useful!!

@unicorns it's just called low dose aspirin, its 75mg. You can buy it over the counter from a pharmacy x

KerryLeanne84 · 18/10/2017 12:46

Unicorns - it's this one and they sell it in all chemists/supermarkets - I had just never looked for it before. It's just the same as normal aspirin but a lower dose. You can get it in different packaging - the one I get from Tesco is more yellow but it should be aspirin 75mg or 82mg and then all say enteric coated 🌈

unicorns I get the dispersible one, Waitrose sell it on the shelf

Juancornetto · 18/10/2017 12:49

I have no idea why I said I get the dispersible one?? Confused going loopy, it's the one that Kerry just pushed I get, enteric coated.

Juancornetto · 18/10/2017 12:51

My lp has got shorter over the last few cycles, was 14 then down to 12 and the last one was 11. I've ordered some vit b6 in case it goes down again this cycle, don't want it to be on a downward spiral

Haybay1 · 18/10/2017 15:22

Very informative Fillybee well done for being so prepared for your appointment, sounds like you put that reg to the test! I hope all the meds are a success and hopefully there will be no need for you to enter that trail as this baby is the one Smile.

Yellow you made me laugh with that last post of yours Grin - I'm saving a punch in the boob for the people who keep pinching my baby names!!!!! Angry

I'm just about to start 'Seven Seas - Trying for a baby' tablets for Folic Acid, Iron with Vit D. Has anyone else tried these?

FutureMum - Hi. Welcome to the thread - good luck Smile

Daffodil77 · 18/10/2017 15:52

I take the boots pregnancy supplements. Practically the same as the conception ones but cheaper. I also take omega 3. First 2 months I just had folic acid. 3rd month I took these supplements and got Pg. Might've been this or that we DTD on perfect day.

Also, my eyelashes look really long due to these!

Purplepjs · 18/10/2017 16:15

filly that was a really interesting post, thanks. And well done for getting all your questions answered!!

Might get onto the aspirin. Do people think it's worth waiting till I get a BFP since we typically take a fair while to get pregnant, or just start now anyway?

Juancornetto · 18/10/2017 17:38

It (aspirin) may help with conception as well, improves blood flow to the uterus and helps with the lining, I'm taking it as a ttc aid - and think it may have helped when I conceived DD

Flatwhite31 · 18/10/2017 18:26

Thanks @Fillybee, that's really interesting. I've added B6 and aspirin to my regime since Monday.
We are postponing my birthday weekend to November. I'm just far too tired to enjoy it.

BlueeSpottyTiger · 18/10/2017 18:42

Oh! Very detailed Filly thanks. I think I'll speak with my Dr about aspirin. I have a friend who's daughter is the same age as mine and she actually has to have aspirin for a condition. So i doubt a worrying amount would pass through my milk to my dd. If babies can actually take it!?

Anyone else have spotting after their first af? I'm on cd 8 now.. and my actual period stopped on day 5, i had nothing on day 6 but then spotting day 7 and 8! Mainly after dtd and it's like pink watery 🙈 sorry tmi!

What does b6 do?
I'm getting fed up of being told to not worry about ttc because im 25.

Fertile week starts romorrow and already dtd times to keep everything fresh.
Watch out dp here i come 😈

BlueeSpottyTiger · 18/10/2017 18:54

Tomorrow 6 times 🤦

Purplepjs · 18/10/2017 18:59

Thanks juan. Might get on that then.

Flatwhite31 · 18/10/2017 19:21

I'm envious that some of you have the energy to DTD more often than just in FW! Not easy when you work 50-60 hours a week.

I should have been 20 weeks today. So sad.

Juancornetto · 18/10/2017 19:33

B6 can help with lengthening lp if it's short. You need to take it with other b vitamins though as apparently it can cause probs if you take it on its own. Should be OK if your prenatal has been vitamins in I guess

beanhunter · 18/10/2017 20:11

So just to put another view about the aspirin. My rmc consultant has given me heparin to take from bfp but has categorically said no aspirin until 6 weeks and a hb seen as she thinks it can be harmful before then.

BlueeSpottyTiger · 18/10/2017 20:34

Oh gosh! So conflicting, Right I'm not going to have it. 🙈

TheGrumpySquirrel · 18/10/2017 20:36

Interesting. I think if you have known clotting issues it can help to keep a BFP sticky - not sure of any benefit before then. Considering I did not mc until 10 weeks (well, 8wks was when baby died) I don’t think that would be the issue for me (they told me that mc that “late” is most likely caused by a genetic abnormality with the foetus).

I’ve been looking at bigger houses today. Feeling good and a little more optimistic.

So I'm thinking of going to the Drs first thing tomorrow (they only release on-the-day slots), and I'm thinking of bringing up the clotting issue I had when I mc purely because I passed something like 20 or so sizable ones. Now part of me this thinking they'll probably pass it off as just weeks worth of blood still going to the uterus as the sac actually stopped growing at 9 weeks (3 weeks after baby), but 3 weeks before I found out or had any bleeding. I'm really conflicted because common sense tells me it's a load of blood not doing anything. Does that make sense? Would it be worth mentioning to see if they can give me anything? I don't have general clotting/blood problems so I'm a bit unsure Sad

I'm sorry I don't know where else to post this
