Come one, come all, new and old, no-one wants to be here, but at least we're glad we've got each other :) Flowers

Hope your stay here is short.

Now, some BFPs if you please and BFNs for those who are waiting for them too!

yellow from what I've read I recon most people on here totally get the 'analysing every tweak' thing. I definitely yo-yo between ridiculously pessimistic to ridiculously hopeful most days weeks :)

missamy have you been to an epu yet?** Took about 5-6 weeks after my mcs for af to come back for me, but yeah, everyone is different.

So this morning I've did an CB OPK (first month using them) and already got a flashyface 'high fertility' thing. I'm only on CD9. So either

  1. Test is broken
  2. Body is broken
  3. Ovulating really early or
  4. I just don't understand anything about fertility tracking
(It's probably a combo of all) So of course I starting googling 'early ovulation' and now I'm freaking out. Does anyone have any advice? Is this something I should be worried about/get checked out?
missamy94 · 12/08/2017 14:07

I went to the epu on 7th August they did blood test for HCG which came back below 5 so told not to do a test again, thank you I will just wait af to make an appearance

LisaSimpsonsbff · 12/08/2017 14:45

Thought definitely nothing to panic about! When do you think you 'normally' ovulate? It's normal to get three or four days of flashing face before a static one - and then you would normally ovulate the day after flashing face. So if you're CD9, then if you follow that pattern you might ovulate on CD14, which wouldn't be unusually early at all (it would be exactly average!). The very earliest you can ovulate now (if you get a static tomorrow) is CD11, which is earlier than average but in no way a case for concern.

LisaSimpsonsbff · 12/08/2017 14:47

Sorry about your loss, amy. I've always miscarried between five and seven weeks and have found each time that my ovulation/period has been only a few days late (counting the first day of bleeding as cd1), but I know it is different from person to person.

LisaSimpsonsbff · 12/08/2017 14:47

Sorry, just realised I made a confusing mistake here - that should read:

'It's normal to get three or four days of flashing face before a static one - and then you would normally ovulate the day after static face.'

emwithme · 12/08/2017 16:37

lime I hope things go well for you.

Forever good wishes that this is a sticky one

As for me? ERPC was two weeks yesterday, got a BFN a week yesterday and properly stopped bleeding a week ago today (it was more like spotting on the last couple of days). I am 90% sure I'm ovulating at the moment (copious amounts of EWCM and an all encompassing desire for chocolate) so my body seems to be doing what it's meant to now. DH and I are holding off TTC for at least this cycle, and possibly one more, so I can get my head around things. In my head I should be 7 months' pregnant now (first MC was in March, original due date was 12/10) so it's a bit of a shit that I'm not, and I'm also not nearly 4 months pregnant and all I want right now is a big bag of giant buttons AF to turn up so I can get it over and done with.

I have also decided that I need to change my job; part of my unhappiness at going back was that I really wasn't happy in my job, I was literally only still there because I was pregnant and counting down the days to maternity leave (from as soon as I got the BFP the first time). So I am actively seeking new work and won't be actually going back to the last place I worked at (have negotiated with the boss to not work notice, taking holiday etc to cover it to the end of the month). We have enough in savings to cover a couple of months out, and then we'll see what's going on there. I feel so much happier in myself since I've made that decision - and have had two interviews this week so things are looking good on that front.

ThoughtAboutThisTooMuch · 12/08/2017 17:24

Thanks a mil for that lisa so sounds like just my own ignorance then! Phew! Have been using glow and it says I'm not due to ov for another 8 days so I guess that's why I was panicking. Have installed ff instead so let's see if that's better!

Also missamy reread my post and it sounds very brusque, sorry about that, and so sorry you find yourself here!

Sending you hugs em and best of luck with the job hunt!

yellowfrontdoor · 12/08/2017 17:37

Em I've decided to change my job too! I posted a while ago (last thread?!) about DH feeling bad if I got a new job but then got pg but I decided to try anyway. We'll see, what will be will be. Good luck in the job hunt.

So I poas. Why I ask myself?! WHY? So i decided to try an OPK too just to rule out the twangy pains. Complete bfn but an almost-positive OPK. It's been around 6 weeks since my ERPC and my cycles generally are very long so it could be I'm only just ov, but aware they can show an imminent AF too.
I'll keep using opks for a few days in case I'm ovulating late. And I'll be sure to jump on DH!

missamy94 · 12/08/2017 17:49

thought no it's fine I didn't think it was brusque Smile we are all in the same boat or have been at some point, I'm just grateful for the information I've found on this group from you lovely people xx

LisaSimpsonsbff · 12/08/2017 19:32

em sounds like such a positive decision to leave - and great work on getting two interviews already!

thought some women do find that they get annoyingly long (a week or more) of flashy faces before their static, which defeats the point of the flashy faces as a 'get doing it in readiness for ovulation!' warning. The CB digital ones are marmite-y in general - they seem to work really well for me and I love everything about them apart from the price, but you'll find lots of women who think they're the devil's work!

LisaSimpsonsbff · 12/08/2017 19:45

Actually, I have my own question: how heavy is spotting before it's your period? I've been having very light bleeding all day - not much at all (and all brown) but enough that I have to wear a pad. I'm a bit confused by it because it's only 11dpo and my luteal phase has been 13 days every single cycle I've ever tracked, and my period normally starts with a red flood, not brown spotting. No chance I'm pregnant (we're preventing while I have tests done), so not implantation bleeding!

emvy · 13/08/2017 08:41

Wonderful news on the new job hunt em!

Welcome miss, sorry you find yourself here. My af came back on day 31 post erpc after first mmc, only a day later than my longest length cycle. Second time, I'm not sure - I think I got pregnant again before it but did have additional bizarre bleeding about 4 weeks after first day of mc bleeding.

Lisa, I had the exact same thing! I thought it was my period as I wore pads for a day and although it was brown, I did need to change my pad throughout the day. No fresh blood at all. Lasted 4 days and lightened off. I then got pregnancy symptoms a week later and turns out I was probably pregnant then. I'm hoping it was more getting rid of whatever was left and possibly during implantation but if you're not trying... I actually don't know, sorry! Just thought I'd let you know I experienced similar. It was like brown tar? Sorry tmi!

Lime, thinking of you x

Just checking in here- so many new messages, have not read them all...congratulations to all the new BFPs! Flowers

I will admit, how I envy you, although not the inevitable new stress & anxiety to deal with!

Today I am in supercharged Hopeful Twat mode Grin

CD12 today and late last night I noticed loads of EWCM after a dry week or so...the same again this morning when I woke up...unfortunately DH was away but will be back today.

How long after seeing EWCM do you normally ovulate...? or is that a bit like asking how long is a piece of string?!

A few reasons for this fresh bout of HT-ness:

  • my delivery of Ubiquinol 200mg came yesterday- have not taken it since Easter, started it back in November
  • Started temping again about 3 weeks ago and am doing it every day, using cheap OPKs each day again as well. With temping am hoping to pinpoint ovulation day (may be not as straightforward as I think!) rather than wondering/guessing...my cycles are usually between 27-30 days although last month was 25 days (with EWCM on CD 9/10 which makes sense with respect to potential ovulation day)
  • Am making my way through 'Taking charge of your fertility' and this book has really affected my thinking, in a massively positive way.

I really wish I'd bought it 13 months ago when we first started TTC.
Back then though I was pretty convinced it would be a matter of months before a BFP happened- up until then it always had straight away

So there we go, I started out 13 months ago desperate for a BFP following my MMC but I tried the chilled out approach. Then added in OPKs, temping and looking at my cycles more closely.

Then from around March (after feeling utterly devastated to get AF at the start of our holiday) I went back to pretending we weren't TTC- no monitoring, temping, POAS (unless absolutely desperate!).

So nothing seems to have made a difference, 13 months down the line and just turned 39 a few weeks ago, I've decided to throw the proverbial kitchen sink at it all!

I'm hoping that this positivity continues...well, at least until AF shows up again in a few weeks time Grin

Wishing all a happy Sunday and maybe some BFPs?!
Flowers

TurquoiseDress · 13/08/2017 10:04

*until last summer, BFPs had always happened straight after coming off the pill

Did I mention it's been 13 months of nothing?! a proverbial desert of BFPs/monsoon of BFNs

SJ88 · 13/08/2017 10:59

Hey just popping on quickly away for the weekend with dh, my mum, sister & her kids. Just got my bfp I think. Faint on FRER. So so so so scared, I thought I would be rxcitrd to find out but I'm just terrified. I never thought I would catch so soon - first month trying since DD passed away. Only been 5 and a half months from my section which is scary although docs had given me the go ahead I've read a few google scare stories. That and the fact I probably still have Group b strep which is what DD contracted during labour. I can't go through another still birth, can't even talk to dh about it because it's still so so early so we aren't telling anyone else yet for as long as possible lol. Will catch up on rest of thread soon. X

SJ88 · 13/08/2017 11:18

Bfp?

TTC After MC 12: Hopeful Twats and Emotional Wrecks welcome!
emvy · 13/08/2017 11:19

Sorry you're still going Turqouise. It sounds like you have everything in hand regarding throwing everything at this next cycle and I'm pleased 'Taking Charge of your Fertility' is helping you feel more positive. Sending you all the good vibes x

Wow SJ, congratulations. It's completely understandable that you're feeling worried about this pregnancy. Allow you and your DH some processing time. Quiet reflection is never a bad thing, there will come a time when you feel ready to talk. Stay away from google! I know it's easier said than done but if medical professionals have given you the go ahead then that's definitely a positive. They wouldn't put themselves in that position if they weren't sure it was safe. Will they do anything about the group b strep? I have everything crossed for you x

emvy · 13/08/2017 11:19

And yes, most definitely a bfp SJ! Xx

TheGrumpySquirrel · 13/08/2017 11:19

Wow SJ congratulations- I can't imagine how many emotions you must be feeling right now Flowers

I'm no longer hopeful, just fat I think! Testing tomorrow and resigned to a BFN.

StepAwayFromGoogle · 13/08/2017 14:18

SJ, that is most definitely a BFP! Congratulations! I know your anxiety must be high but I'd do as emvy and my username suggests and step away from Google. Mostly it just gives conflicting advice and experiences. You are pregnant. That is amazing xxx

LisaSimpsonsbff · 13/08/2017 15:00

Congratulations, SJ - I can't imagine how many conflicting emotions you must be having right now, but wanted to agree with everyone else that you should trust your doctors rather than Google! Flowers

Thanks for the reply emvy - my period full on started this morning, so mystery solved! I'm pretty happy (though still a bit confused) about its early arrival - one more cycle of Coventry testing and then we can start trying again. I'm very much ready, and impatient!

Glad you're having a positive day today, turquoise - me too. I think it helps that the sun is shining!

AnneLovesGilbert · 13/08/2017 17:09

Oh wow SJ, what incredible news. Sending you a very gentle reassuring hug. We're here for you xxxx

So glad you're finding the book helpful turquoise, I loved it. Rarely read anything that made so much sense.

AnneLovesGilbert · 13/08/2017 17:23

Do any tempers have a clue what's going on here? According to when I was sure I ovulated cd13 and then stupidly forgot my thermometer when we had a night away I'm 10dpo. When I ovulated according to ff on cd17 (unheard of for me but not impossible I guess) I'm 6dpo.

Implantation dip? I have sore boobs, mild back ache and cramps and really bloated. Or did I ovulate cd13 and af is on its way?

TTC After MC 12: Hopeful Twats and Emotional Wrecks welcome!
LisaSimpsonsbff · 13/08/2017 17:45

Anne - is the cd17 temp an empty circle one, ie. you took it at a weird time or for some other reason it's unreliable? Because I think that one temperature is why it gave you that day as ovulation - otherwise I agree with you that the chart looks like cd13. Cd6 is a bit early for an implantation dip, but cd 10 more likely! But, as you say, could also be AF - how long are your cycles, normally?

hotcookie · 13/08/2017 17:46

Congratulations SJ I can only imagine what emotions you are going through right now, but echo the others-stop checking with Dr Google!

I'm now 5 weeks. I've been cramping every day really but I feel like absolute crap (no vomiting but serious nausea for a fair whack of the day, so hoping it's a good sign. I'm waiting for the midwives to get in touch, and I'll speak to them about the possibility of an early scan.

Anne I am by no means an expert at temping-I sleep really badly so never took it at consistent times, but here's hoping that was an implantation dip 😊
This is what my last chart looked like-I really didn't think my rise was convincing (but I knew I ovulated then from other signs & opk which i only started using)
