Come one, come all, new and old, no-one wants to be here, but at least we're glad we've got each other :) Flowers

Hope your stay here is short.

Now, some BFPs if you please and BFNs for those who are waiting for them too!

FlowersFlowersFlowersFlowers to em and ana. I'm so sorry.

I recommend it starts with the egg too - thanks for the reminder mrs j, I'd stopped taking the folate. I need to re read it too as I don't think I was doing everything. Was taking ubiquinol (not bothered taking away with me). Dh has been taking folate too as there was a bit in the book on that.

Step is that folate or folic acid?

I'm really rooting for our bfps. Every time I came on I'm scanning for updates - I so hope these stick. I know how you feel Mrsj. Because I have to see battle the gp over thyroxine monitoring etc, each milestone felt such a long wait. It didn't go smoothly with my ds, and didn't in feb/March with my brief pregnancy then. It's like torture.

Anyone else constantly compare symptoms to when you got your BFP??

Yes, I'm 10 dpo and comparing symptoms constantly. Annoyingly I didn't record anything on ff when I got preg in feb but I did with my chemical, which doesn't really help! Currently can't work out if I have very cruel pms with sore breasts and cramps or symptoms. I never get sore breasts but have a couple of cycles recently so that's no bloody guide! I'm eating a wide range of diff crazy foods as away so cramps are most likely wind!

Anatidae · 07/08/2017 11:10

I was six weeks. So very early and part of me is telling myself to not make a fuss but I feel dreadfully sad 😭

Lifeofpies · 07/08/2017 11:14

em I'm so very sorry Flowers I hope your return to work is gentle X

Very sorry for your loss also ana.

Lifeofpies · 07/08/2017 11:17

Ekphrasis and others, do you all take folate? I've ordered 1000mcg tablets, and also high dose coq10 and baby aspirin. No idea if they're the best/right things, but need to start somewhere. Would be interested to know what you take.

Ekphrasis · 07/08/2017 11:20

Forever to add, yes I've been convicted I was out from 7 dpo. As an egg tasted funny with that pregnancy at 7 dpo and I got a faint line at 9 dpo. Utterly ridiculous!

Half of me thinks I shouldn't be tracking, the other half is fascinated and finds it helpful.

Ekphrasis · 07/08/2017 11:22

Life I did for a bit but I can't remember the reasoning in the book. I eased up for some reason. Dh does.

I also don't know if it's up to bfp or continues? (In addition to normal amount).

Ekphrasis · 07/08/2017 11:24

Ah this is it. I eat a lot of dark greens though. I think this month I took the occasional extra one. www.whattoexpect.com/wom/pregnancy/0605/a-high-dose-of-folate-linked-to-fewer-miscarriages--study-.aspx

MsJuniper · 07/08/2017 11:48

That's an interesting article as it talks more about taking extra folic acid/folate pre-pg. I took something called MyOva which had high dose myo inositol plus 200mcg folate on top of the usual 400mcg folic acid in the pregnacare, but I stopped the first one once I got my BFP as I wasn't sure about the myo inositol. Maybe I should get another folic acid supplement on the go.

Ekphrasis · 07/08/2017 13:00

I wasn't sure mrs j. I sometimes panic as with ds all I had was pregnacare! I worry it's all too much extra unneeded stuff. Does it say up to bpf? In men it seemed to help DNA etc.

I think I'll try the supplement you mentioned next cycle.

Ekphrasis · 07/08/2017 13:02

Reading again it seems to say the 400 plus healthy diet should be enough. I can't remember the reasoning in it starts with the egg (I'm away so it's not to hand).

BertieBotts · 07/08/2017 13:18

Anne sorry am on mobile but it does look like there was a rise? Maybe ff is waiting for another day or two to confirm.

I used to try and compare symptoms but have given up on that now as both times they were completely different.

Em hope all is going well at work. Flowers

I'm on the prescribed folic acid too. My GP didn't go into why but said something vague about blood flow, is it shown to reduce the chance of mc?

emwithme · 07/08/2017 13:34

Work did not go well. Far too many tears for my liking, so I'm back at home with a cat and a cuppa. Ho hum.

LisaSimpsonsbff · 07/08/2017 13:41

Anne I think it'll probably give you crosshairs tomorrow if your temperature is similar to today's. It looks like you did ovulate on day 13 and that it just hasn't been elevated for long enough to confirm yet.

Impressive effort on the BD-ing, by the way! (She said, incredibly creepily)

LisaSimpsonsbff · 07/08/2017 13:42

Oh, em, I'm so sorry but I'm glad you left rather than trying to keep going if it was just too hard.

MsJuniper · 07/08/2017 13:54

Just been looking on Amazon and they do have a 5mg option but I'm a bit scared to take it without doctors' advice particularly as I didn't think that level was available without prescription. I might get some of the Solgar ones and take a couple extra each day.

Feels like this whole thing is a chemistry experiment but with so many variables it's impossible to know whether it's better to add something into the mix or not.

AnneLovesGilbert · 07/08/2017 14:40

Thank you so much for looking Bertie and Lisa, really appreciate it. Gave myself such a freak out this morning, kicking myself for forgetting my thermometer and feeling all wonky and faulty again!

I'll update on what happens tomorrow! I've had such faith in the symptoms I can see/feel and I'm clearly way way overly reliant on temping to back it up. And breathe.......

Not creepy Lisa, thanks! I spent years in a shit and eventually completely sexless marriage, making up for lost time with obliging second husband Grin

Sorry it didn't go well em, hunker down and have a nap if you can or watch some mindless telly. I know I've said this before but for the time ever during and after my MMC I got a real taste for incredibly stupid loud shoots action films. Anything with feelings set me off and I got so bored and distracted. I got well acquainted with Jason Statham. The guy is fool but his films are very loud and easy to follow! I also ate biscuits. I never eat biscuits but for some reason it helped.

Can you get signed off for the rest of the week? Nothing, nothing, is more important than building your strength back up and taking it easy. Work will cope.

I can so relate to what a lot of you were saying the other day about a baby and even a pregnancy sometimes seeming so far off. For the first time in ages I found myself asking DH about baby names and what we'd do about childcare when we have one. I've been looking at baby booties. It doesn't seem anymore likely it's going to happen soon but maybe I'm defrosting and remembering what we're trying to do, outside of the TTC routine, pills, dates, symptom spotting and all that crap.

Oh and Bertie, your poor poor trouper of a DH with his blue balls. Bless him! I genuinely didn't know it was a thing, and he must have made it worse by trying to be a gentleman about your side of things Grin

Hope you get the results soon and normal service has resumed Smile

Lifeofpies · 07/08/2017 18:07

Ah em glad you came home. Agree you shouldn't go in if you don't absolutely have to.

Thanks for the folic acid/folate thoughts, and article Ekphrasis. Very interesting. I've got 'it started with the egg' coming, so will wait to read before starting supplements.

StepAwayFromGoogle · 07/08/2017 18:31

Ekphrasis, I take folic acid. Should I be taking folate? furiously starts googling.

Em, take it easy and look after yourself. I'd get signed off until you feel a bit better and just curl up on the sofa with endless cups of tea. It takes as long as it takes to recover. I was completely bereft after my third and took 6 weeks off. Really did me the world of good.

Ana, I was only 6 weeks when I lost two of mine and 4 weeks with the other one. Still broke my heart. I don't think there is a time limit on grief so just allow yourself to feel how you feel.

I saw one of my NCT mummy friends this afternoon who has a two month old. Have to say it was so much easier than seeing her when she had a bump and I was insanely jealous. DD spent the afternoon whacking all the other beautifully-behaved toddlers...

Bring on all the BFPs, ladies. I need to do my special dance again Grin

MsJuniper · 07/08/2017 19:19

Anne I know exactly what you mean about the action films, I have had similar times when I've had to stay away from anything emotional.

Apparently folic acid is easier to absorb in its synthetic form but I always feel like there are so many options I'm sure I've chosen the wrong one! I've decided to get the solgar folic acid though for now.

LisaSimpsonsbff · 07/08/2017 19:40

Hi ladies - thanks for all your support, appointment went fine. It was quite painful but not for long. Thank you for the parking tip, step - it was indeed rammed!

BertieBotts · 07/08/2017 19:45

DS is away this week so yes I'd say normal service has resumed. Unsure if I've ovulated yet, so that's probably a good thing!

Hi everyone, can I join? I miscarried in June at five weeks (two days after my wedding for extra joy) We'd been ttc for 14 months and I'd actually been told I'd need egg donation as I have very low egg reserves even for my (ancient) age of 38.

I had a Hysteroscopy at a private clinic last month which removed a uterine septum and shed loads of dead scar tissue. Now we're back ttc. I'm getting ovulation pains at moment, but no ewcm. Odd question, but did anyone else find things drier post miscarriage? It's definitely an issue when dtd all of a suddenConfused Not sure if I should be worried?
