Thanks myusernamewhichisthis... I'm now cd17 and 1dpo.... the madness starts here for me... I'll spend the next week symptom spotting and then the following waiting for AF... comparing everything to when we conceived... iv e started already lol... even though I know it's way too early for anything.

i can relate. cd 19 and frantically boob prodding. (which i KNOW is ridiculous!)
i didnt find out i was pg till i was well over 5 weeks last time. i had completely missed a period, didnt even twig. when i tested it was to rule out pregnancy and i got the shock of my life.

af due 5th august for me. i wont bother testing until im late - i got bitten doing that with a superdrug early - got a false positive with it and the disappointment was indescribable.
so ive got a couple of FRER but ill wait either till AF shows or im actually late.

littlemimosa · 25/07/2017 21:43

Katie any news lovely? Sorry you've been feeling low. It's such a rollercoaster isn't it.

Sarah hope you're ok sweetie. Thinking of you.

Lisara - welcome to the dreaded 2ww! Fingers tightly crossed for you.

My username - I also have two DC but my GP didn't hesitate to send me for blood tests plus a scan. She also said she could prescribe clomid if tests show I need it. Obviously I wouldn't be a candidate for IVF on the NHS but I'd be surprised if they sent you packing. Hth.

littlemimosa · 25/07/2017 21:45

Rhi and Melody how are you both?

Melodypond17 · 25/07/2017 21:57

@littlemimosa - hey love - 5dpo and feeling no symptoms at all - really tough as one work colleagues baby shower on Friday and another work colleague is 18 weeks today...

And all I have to look forward to is a cd21 blood test on Monday... at least it's a step in the right direction towards having another baby but I'm really trying not to get my hopes up right now x

Shredtheevidence · 25/07/2017 22:34

Just coming to the end of AF now but with my cycles it will.probably be around 2 and a half weeks before I am in my fertile week. X

RhiBee29 · 26/07/2017 07:17

Had a little wobble yesterday as saw my cousin who is 20wks, I know it's ridiculous! Also I've been a bit jealous of a girl in work who's pg but she told me yesterday she'd had 2 mc, I felt like a right cow.

My boobs are agony and still lots of cm. despite DH saying let's TTC again we've only dtd once, think he was just in the mood and said it to get his own way.

No idea what cd I am but think I'm in fw so will look out for AF in a couple of weeks.

myusernamewhichisthis · 26/07/2017 16:41

little thats interesting thank you. im 45 so didnt know if that counted against me?
gp just said she could send me for bloods but nothing more so it was a bit irrelevant really and i didnt go for the tests - thought there was no point if nothing could be done.

id happily opt for clomid.

littlemimosa · 26/07/2017 19:53

My username- as far as I know there's no age limit (upper or lower) on clomid. Sarah can perhaps clarify that but as I understand it it's mainly used in younger women with ovulation issues but is also often prescribed to older ladies to give them a 'boost'.

Rhi and Melody - I totally understand how you feel with pregnant people all around. Rhi it does not make you a cow at all. It's normal to feel envious. Doesn't make you a bad person. Melody - no symptoms isn't necessarily a bad sign. Chin up love.

Shred - I'm just finishing AF too. Went for reflexology today which was so relaxing. She said she balanced all my hormones. Here's hoping!

RhiBee29 · 26/07/2017 21:31

@littlemimosa I just booked a reflexology session for Monday, hoping to balance the hormones again. I can't recommend it enough, it's an amazing treatment.

Sarah2209 · 27/07/2017 12:10

Hi all,
Sorry I’ve been awol - not been very well. DH and I both had a nasty tummy bug and and felt dreadful for the past 5 days :(

I don’t believe there is any upper age to Clomid. They prescribe for ladies who don’t ovulate regularly and for ladies who have been trying a long time with no success. It works by nudging the pituitary gland and sending your ovaries into a bit of an overdrive; the hope is you release more than one egg thereby increasing your chances of pregnancy if your in the latter category. I’m just going into Cycle 3 on Clomid; fingers crossed..... I hadn’t had any side effects, but my skin last month was horrendous and that is linked to Clomid. But a few spots is a small price to pay if it works.....

Fx to all those in the 2ww and getting ready for the baby dance this month.... Sx

myusernamewhichisthis · 27/07/2017 12:44

think i might make an appt then - thanks for the info

Sarah2209 · 27/07/2017 13:39

You’re welcome myusername.... I’m 43, 44 in two months and have been trying on and off for 5 years now.... given ourselves 4 more months and then we’re going to quit. TTC No.1 - but DH has two boys from a previous marriage - all grown up now. So hard isn’t it..... you may swell at least ask... a friend of mine admitted when she found out I was on it that she got pregnant with her son on Clomid - he’s 30 now but she says they’d been trying for 4 years before... so it really does work!

Melodypond17 · 27/07/2017 15:58

@myusernamewhichisthis - I'm 43 and went to the doctor last week after ttc for 6 months. I've been sent for bloods, had an internal swab to check for infections and am waiting for a referral for an ultrasound.

I mentioned clomid but the doctor said that would be further down the line - also that might not be funded on the NHS as dh and I already have children from previous relationships - don't know if that helps or not x

Sarah2209 · 27/07/2017 17:08

Hi Melody - oh that’s pants..... I can’t stand this NHS postcode lottery, where one area will provide clomid and tests and another won’t. When we were in Surrey we got basic tests but no offer of Clomid. My consultant here in Cornwall was surprised that Clomid was not offered after 2 years of trying as I was 39 then. But Surrey didn’t support fertility if one of the couple had children. So unfair.... I have to say cornwall have been brilliant so far...

lisara79 · 27/07/2017 22:18

We've been told we can have tests but nothing else as DH has a son... I'm sure it violates my human rights... (I'd like to say lol but it's not really funny) as I'm sure the convention on human rights says we have a right to have children... as it turns out, I seem to ovulate and be able to conceive so it probably wouldn't be suitable but still...

OP posts:
Sarah2209 · 28/07/2017 17:16

Totally agree.... especially when the children are on the man’s side... it’s our god given right to bear children and i think they need to re-look at the whole thing, especially the age issue.... at least make is equitable for everyone and not have this postcode lottery of what you do and don’t get! My Dr said the fertility treatment age cut off point is archaic and not in line with today’s society..... hopefully one day they’ll look at it put it right for future generations.... I can’t see children of today being able to afford children until their older with the way costs keep increasing..... okay rant over.....

myusernamewhichisthis · 29/07/2017 12:08

i would pay for clomid but not fertility treatment and im not sure if they would want to monitor clomid use with scans etc? figure it could get expensive.
ill discuss on tues but i also got told by my gp there was nothing could be done for me on the nhs.

RhiBee29 · 30/07/2017 09:15

AF has arrived, strange to be happy about it but now I can start tracking my cycle again!

lisara79 · 30/07/2017 14:34

Fresh start Rhibee29 x

OP posts:
myusernamewhichisthis · 30/07/2017 15:28

i know how you feel Rhibee

it was 6 weeks for me after my loss and although its hard at least you arent in limbo anymore and like you say - you can track.

best of luck !

i think im around 8 dpo but i dont think im pg. my boobs are usually the giveaway for me and they dont look or feel any different at all. i know its early and im trying to stay positive but its so tough. im cd 24, so af isnt late for another week, ovia says i can test in 4 days but i dont waste tests any more - ill just wait for af which is normally around the 30 day mark. i think im going to try a fertility lube next cycle, someone on here recommended conceive plus.

feel a bit meh today.

RhiBee29 · 30/07/2017 17:57

@myusernamewhichisthis feeling totally meh. AF has now stopped...wtf? Went shopping to buy a new outfit as going out for my birthday on Friday, tried it on for DH and he said it looked 'alright'...taking it back.

myusernamewhichisthis · 30/07/2017 19:39

oh bless you....try not to take too much to heart! i hope your cycle sorts itself out - it will.
its hard enough without it pissing about!

littlemimosa · 31/07/2017 22:35

Evening ladies, hope everyone is ok.
My username- sorry you're feeling like af is coming. It's not over til she does though.
Rhi - good luck with your new cycle.
