14dpo and a bfn today :(
Af due Thursday...

I should be relieved after drinking like a fish whilst on honeymoon but still gutted

Shredtheevidence · 09/07/2017 11:36

Glad to see this thread picking up a bit again.

I am very confused this month. I didn't get positive opk at normal time (although it was close) and got ewcm later than expected. Am now 2 days overdue with no sign of af and bfn. I had very short luteal phase the last couple of months so a) I played at right time and lp has sorted itself a bit b) I ov'd late and af will turn up in the next few days c) I've had an anovulatory cycle and my body has gone batshit crazy!!!!!!

Shredtheevidence · 09/07/2017 11:38

Ov'd not played - stoopid phone

Refilona · 09/07/2017 11:43

Hi again guys. This month is the month!

Age 32
Ttc #1
Cycle 7
Cd10

This week will be... fun Blush

katiegd · 09/07/2017 16:37

Hi all!

Shredtheevidence - Did you get positive opk earlier or later than usual? Hope it turns out to be a good and helpful thing rather than an anovulatory cycle or something.

RhiBee and Lisara - hope you're both doing ok.

Melody - sorry to hear bout BFN. Fx it's just too early.

As for me, I have just got a positive opk three days early, which either means a 23 day cycle or a long LP. I will have to wait for temp rise to confirm timings.

Also just checked my app and realised we haven't HS for about 2 and a half weeks! Oh dear. It's been a combination of DP being away and us both just being super busy and stressed, but that probably doesn't bode well for our TTC efforts this month.

We have booked to go to the doctor for the first time next week to discuss fertility. Fx it will get the ball rolling.

littlemimosa · 10/07/2017 12:25

Hi everyone. Been laying low for a while, trying to get my mind off ttc.
Hope you're all ok.
Rhi and Lisara hope you're both healing physically and emotionally after your mcs.
Melody fingers crossed for you. It's not over until the fat lady sings!
Shred how confusing. I hate it when you don't know what is going on.
Katie sorry if you are repeating yourself but how old are you and how long have you been ttc?
Sarah if you're still reading I hope you're ok. I read what you wrote and know it must've been a very difficult decision. (Understatement). How are you feeling physically on the clomid now? I've been to my gp who is doing bloods this week and said she'd prescribe clomid if I wanted it.
I'm 5/6dpo on the first cycle of ttc for 3 months so praying I won't need it but I'm realistic too.

Melodypond17 · 10/07/2017 14:57

Af has arrived 5 days early... that's me out for this month :(

Fingers crossed for everyone else still in x

katiegd · 10/07/2017 15:10

Sorry to hear that melody.

littlemimosa - fx for you this month.

I am 32, TTC since Dec 2015, but DP had to be circumcised last year so that put things on hold and I wasn't tracking obsessively so unsure of exact number of cycles. Mine are short though so am guessing we're somewhere around cycle 12 now (or maybe 10, maybe 14!).

lisara79 · 10/07/2017 22:31

aww... sorry to hear that melodypond17... Good to see you Mimosa! all good here cd3 ... all seem to be working again so ready for a new cycle!

Sarah2209 · 12/07/2017 14:59

Hello all!

Thanks LittleMimosa, yes - still here. Just being a bit quiet trying to come to terms with the decision and not stress and let everyone else talk. Feel ok on the Clomid - no side effects other than I ovulate 3 days later than I usually would. I’m 3 dpo today - no symptoms so far, but it’s very early days!!

Might be worth trying Clomid - they put me on it for 5 months and then they review. So I’ve done one month and this is my second. Met a friend today who got pregnant after years of trying on Clomid... so it does work for some.

Hope everyone else is well.
Sx

littlemimosa · 12/07/2017 16:13

Melody so sorry lovely.

Katie thanks for that. Sounds like quite a journey so far for you.

Lisara so glad to hear you're back on track.

Sarah can I ask how you got to the point of getting the clomid? Was it simply because you'd been trying for so long/age etc or was there something specific in your bloods results/scan results?

Sarah2209 · 12/07/2017 16:49

Hi Melody, it was combination of age and length of trying. As my DH’s problem is small samples, it just increases our chances as you can ovulate 2/3 eggs a month instead of 1. No idea if I have of course, but that’s the reason they gave it to me. I’m on 100mg, I think they start some on 50mg but usually that’s if they are not regularly ovulating, as it forces your body to ovulate if it works right for you.

Melody - sorry its a bfn :-(
Katie - I can relate to trying for a long time.... so frustrating. But at least your age is still with you. Stay strong.

Lisara/Rhi Bee - hope your both ok.

katiegd · 12/07/2017 17:01

Yeah, Sarah, I think I've got quite a bit on my side - I'm relatively young, short cycles, seem to be ovulating normally (although tests will show if that's actually true!).

Off to docs shortly to discuss all of this, so we'll see what they say...

RhiBee29 · 12/07/2017 17:56

TMI alert! I think I'm ovulating, Ovia app says I'm in fw, lots of cm but it's pink tinged? Result of mc or should I call the dr?

katiegd · 13/07/2017 18:33

Hmm, afraid I'm probably not much help Rhi - not sure what's normal? How are things today?

I went to GP yesterday to discuss fertility for first time and all tests are done or ordered...bloods, chlamydia, pelvic scan, semen analysis. Bit nervous about what we'll find out but I'd rather know.

lisara79 · 14/07/2017 10:17

@rhibee29 iv e read a lot this month and a lot is contradictory... I think the blood is probably related to the miscarriage but it mat be best to check... apparently ewcm can be a bit over abundant after miscarriage but because your body is recovering, may not mean ovulation.... can you ring the epu? or the unit that dealt with the loss? they may know more than your GP.

My horrendous first period post mc has ended! Heavy and painful but done. Feeling quite positive about TTC now. I've changed fertility supplements, eating better and have all my testing stuff at the ready...
For you ladies having fertility treatment, even low level stuff... I went to a wedding last week. The bride and groom were both early 40s and most of their friends are the same sort of age. They are a load of professional Londoners so many ttc at more advanced ages. I talked to 3 separate couples who were pregnant or had young babies with the mum's at over 40... two were nearer 45... one conceived naturally at 44 while waiting for treatment, one had ivf at 41 and is now 8 months pregnant (1 cycle) and 1 conceived with the help of Clomid at about 43... really interesting conversation because they all thought they would struggle and may not get there but all have. I also have two friends at work who are both on Clomid in early 30s because of polycystic ovaries... their struggle seems harder but their age gives them future options with access to ivf on the nhs which the older mum's would have to pay for... amazing the stories you hear when you talk to people... so many people sharing the same battles as we are...

RhiBee29 · 14/07/2017 11:56

Thanks @lisara79 and @katiegd, called GP currently in their waiting area, cm had turned to more of a brown discharge (yuk!) and I think I may have an infection, I have a tendency to get BV. Just want it to end now!

lisara79 · 14/07/2017 12:39

Hope all is OK Rhi x

OP posts:
RhiBee29 · 14/07/2017 14:03

Dr said all is normal just tail end of mc and will probably last until AF finally rocks up! Guess I just have to put up with it for now.

littlemimosa · 14/07/2017 21:33

Rhi - glad doctor said everything normal. Hope you're ok.

Lisara - great to hear you sounding so positive. And what inspiring stories about 40+ conceptions:) Being 'ancient' in terms of fertility myself, i do take comfort from stories like that. Apparently more over 40s are now having babies in the UK than ever before and for the first time we outnumber teenage pregnancies!

Katie - can understand your nervousness. But like you say if there is something stopping you getting pg at least you can start to fix it.

Sarah - thanks for answering my nosey questions:) where are you in your cycle? I'm 8/9 DPO and of course the curious symptom spotting starts here. This month it's mild cramps and pulling/tugging sensations, hurrah! Every month it's something different I don't know how I manage it;)

katiegd · 16/07/2017 16:03

Lisara - glad to hear you're feeling positive and that horrible AF is over. I am also trying to maintain positivity. I know I'm still fairly early in my TTC journey in the grand scheme of things and there is every chance it'll happen before we get to the treatment stage.

Rhi - glad doctor said it was normal.

Sarah2209 · 16/07/2017 20:11

Thanks for the post Lisara79 - gives me hope at 44 in 2 months!!

RhiBee - hope all is ok now? And your cycle normalises....

Littlemimosa- I'm 6/7 dpo - so not far behind you!! Bit more cm than usual, and a little bit of nausea here and there.... but really trying not symptom spot as it's getting harder and harder to be let down each month. Fx for you though - your symptoms sound promising.... wouldn't it be wonderful if this was our month... the geriatric mothers brigade Wink x

littlemimosa · 16/07/2017 23:08

Omg the geriatric mothers brigade!!
Perhaps that's what we should call the next thread......Only kidding all you lovely ladies under 40;)
Joking aside though, how frickin cruel is Mother Nature in terms of the female fertility window?? I mean I look 25 on the outside but my ovaries are decrepit at 41. Sob.

Melodypond17 · 17/07/2017 00:27

Another member of the geriatric mums club here - it seemed so easy in my 20s (no disrespect to anyone of any age ttc) but back then I had no idea how hard it could be to get that (now) elusive bfp...

Now I'm 43 and everything seems to revolve around af, ovulation etc etc and time just seems to be against us :(
