Not sure if I should start new thread for this? Is there one open already?

Anne I'm so sorry you had such a difficult experience. The way that mc affects our relationships and other parts of our lives is so rarely talked about. Similarly Dude with your customers complaining about bumps, they would just never think that their words might have such an impact on the person serving them.

Like a fool, I tested this morning even though it's only 6 days since my positive opk. BFN obviously, although an hour later I've gone back to stare at it just in case...

On a lighter note, I use a Barbie egg cup for dip testing purposes. I think it came from an Easter egg set many years ago. It adds a little absurdity to the situation...

StepAwayFromGoogle · 20/07/2017 10:57

Welcome, dude. Re: clearblue ovulation predictor kits - I have just started using them this month. Probably the wrong person to ask because I'm currently on day 7 of a flashing smiley face with no peak to show for it. CD15 and I've usually got a pretty regular 28 day cycle so was expecting to have had a peak by now. Internet research seems to suggest that they can be unreliable but they claim 99% success in detecting LH surge. Apparently the test lines inside can be a better indicator so I'll be removing mine from the bin and taking apart when I get home from work! I'll let you know how I get on with it this month.

LisaSimpsonsbff · 20/07/2017 12:19

I think the clearblue tests must be one of those things that work really well for some people and not others. I've seen a lot of complaints about them, but for me they work well. I always get either four or five flashing faces and then a static. I did learn from temping that I seem to ovulate the day of the static not the day after, as I'd always thought, which means the flashing faces are useful as it's a bit late really by the static one. I really like them - no ambiguity and, most importantly for me, I like that you do them with FMU not in the afternoon like most OPKs - but they are very pricey.

LisaSimpsonsbff · 20/07/2017 12:22

stepaway the lines are on the sticks (which you may have thrown away?) not in the reader! You can see them when you eject the stick. Just didn't want you to smash yours up unnecessarily!

StepAwayFromGoogle · 20/07/2017 12:34

Ha ha, Lisa - I meant the sticks not the reader! The sticks are in the bin, the reader is sitting on top of the loo waiting for tomorrow's stick. Now have visions of me smashing up the reader only to find no lines inside!!!

LisaSimpsonsbff · 20/07/2017 12:49

Haha! Sorry if that was really patronising - it's just that the lines are inside the pregnancy tests!

yellowfrontdoor · 20/07/2017 13:32

Hi Dude sorry for your loss Flowers

This thread is so supportive, there's some lovely ladies on here.

I personally like IC's; I feel like they do the job just as well at a fraction of the price! Like Lisa said, the CB ones have such mixed reviews. I also use Conceive plus for a bit more of a fighting chance!

dudemeister76 · 20/07/2017 15:33

Cheers ladies,
Im thinking ill try the clear blue and see how i get on with it. I may give up if it flashes smiley faces for too long....i dont think i could handle the stress of it. Maybe i should get to grips with temping.

Thanks for making me feel welcome xx

dudemeister76 · 20/07/2017 15:36

yellow i am already armed with sperm friendly lube! I can't remember where i read it but someone used a moon cup with conceive plus after sex with legs in the air. Could work i guess.

yellowfrontdoor · 20/07/2017 15:40

Dude I've actually just laughed out loud. I would love to see the look on DH's face if I did that!

AnneLovesGilbert · 20/07/2017 19:05

Welcome dude, so sorry for your loss Flowers

Thank you all for kind understanding words last night ❤️

Feeling much more level today and work was manic so plenty of distractions.

Af due tomorrow. Felt really crampy last 4 or so days, loads of creamy cm and cervix so high I can barely reach it. Clear as mud.

Lime19 · 20/07/2017 19:37

I'm in such a bad mood today.

First proper cycle since miscarriage and I feel:

Sad: I should be 20 odd weeks by now
Happy: that I'm kind of getting back to normal
Jealous: of everyone that doesn't have issues
Scared: it will happen again, is my lining thick enough? What if I get a bag egg again? What if it's bloody twins again?
Excited: because it might happen this cycle
Flat and down: because it probably won't happen this cycle
Nervous: because I'm worried I've got a problem. What if it doesn't happen again
Angry: because why is it me?! Why did this have to happen to me!

Goodness me, Lime, it's like you read my mind (no doubt all of our minds). I think you pretty much just summed me up in one post!

Had an awful afternoon. Popped over to see my GParents & my uncle was there. I was trying to cajole my nephew into having a fresh nappy & he pipes up 'come on now, you need the practice!'. I know he meant it jokily but really?! He knows about my first mc. Twat. I walked into GP loo & cried.
I'm back at work tomorrow too after 2 weeks and dreading it. Think I'm just hyper-sensitive today.

yellowfrontdoor · 20/07/2017 20:33

Also; eyes please!
There's still a squinter on the hcg test (top) isn't there?
And the OPK is almost a positive for ovulation, so I'm guessing that's picking up hcg too.
On Monday it's been 2 weeks. I did the test because I wanted a negative, now I'm confused :(

yellowfrontdoor · 20/07/2017 20:34

Pic would help!

Lime19 · 20/07/2017 20:37

Can't see a picture? Post again?

Also Chester from linkin park has died. I love that band and their album released the same week as my miscarriage. I listened to their songs whilst I was having a crap time and I still can't listen to one of them as it makes me cry.

Now I'm in a worse mood. How sad for his family. Sad

Re-post! I can see it on the app so apologies if I'm spamming you guys with pics.
Back to work for me means no more sitting on MN all day!

lime and yellow xxxxxxx biggest hugs to you both.

I hear you lime so much. The doubt and fear is the worst. I'm so sorry you lost your babies and I desperately wish you a sticky one very soon xxx

Hopefulness is good. Better times are ahead. Have you got stuff to look forward to that aren't ttc related? I've found that's so important. Sometimes we plan too much but having things to keep busy with is good.

yellow take it easy tomorrow, as much as you can. Your job sounds really full on. Hope you've got a quiet weekend to recover?

AnneLovesGilbert · 20/07/2017 20:47

What does it mean yellow?!

yellowfrontdoor · 20/07/2017 20:52

God knows. I've pretty much stopped bleeding now (just a tiny bit of browny discharge) & I was hoping for a negative. To be fair, it's a very faint line so hoping the hcg is almost gone so I can get back into a new cycle.
It's crazy how a few weeks can change you from 'please be positive!' To 'please be negative!'

Lime19 · 20/07/2017 20:53

I see it yellow. Left over hormone (mine took WEEKS to go away) or new hormone?

AnneLovesGilbert · 20/07/2017 21:04

It's so complicated hoping for a bfn isn't it! Is the IC picking up from 10 HCG?

yellowfrontdoor · 20/07/2017 21:12

I think it is, it's not written on the packet.
I got them free with my conceive plus! A quick scan online shows same brand similar packet and they're 10. Does that make a difference? If it's that faint hopefully it's struggling to pick up a very small amount? Grasps at straws

StepAwayFromGoogle · 20/07/2017 22:55

Lisa, not patronising at all. Made me laugh out loud.

Lime, I think you've summed up how we all feel. Couldn't have put it more perfectly.

Yellow, in the nicest way possible, hope you get your BFN soon x

BertieBotts · 20/07/2017 23:09

Right, I think we need a new thread.
