Thread 30, TTC #1 | Hilda hopefuls are still riding the shag wagon

Jamon · 06/06/2017 08:39

Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has well and truly worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Key:
HS - have/had sex
GOS - good old shag
ELH - enthusiastic lavatory happenings
LSFX - legs spread, fingers crossed

Harriet Mine are oral tablets, 10 mg twice a day. Gynae didn't seem to think they would actually help, as in he didn't think I really needed them, but was happy to prescribe as an alternative to the contraceptive pill, which I guess is there usual go to for wacky menstrual cycles.

sk1pper · 06/06/2017 16:22

Hep - don't give up, please don't. You're not too old or infertile - stay on this journey with us!!

HepKestrel · 06/06/2017 16:54

sorry.... feeling glum.... I know I threaten to drop out every few months !

Going for a run now and will feel more zen soon.

Pugmummy87 · 06/06/2017 18:15

Cycle 20ish?
1 early miscarriage in January this year.
Have had HSG and scan, trying to get bmi down to below 35 before end August.

Currently 11dpo and having the usual black/brown gunge that rears it's ugly head before AF comes. Big temp drop this morning too. Just feeling meh.

Came back Sunday evening from 4 days away in Birmingham for the UK Games expo. Dreading weigh in tomorrow night.

If anyone is interested, champneys are running a 2 night "Nuture your fertility" retreat in September (22-24th) at Tring. Costs £499. www.champneys.com/retreats/health-management/
Just click on September and scroll down for more info. I'm considering it.

Jamon · 06/06/2017 18:34

Bum bullets 😅 harriet the things we do. There is no dignity in TTC. Fx for limited side effects

Thanks Kerry our CCG won't pay for them so we would have to fund it. I doubt now we will pay for IVF privately as we're so broke from our house purchase plus NHS IVF starts in October, so perhaps we could give paid IUI a go instead. The time off work sounds a faff... thanks for the description though that does help.

Stick with us hep

Sorry it's not looking hopeful pug Sad glad you're still with us, that fertility retreat sounds lovely.

Day 13 and nothing on the OPKs yet, I wonder if clomid will delay it.

Champneys is where I went for my spa break pug! I really recommend them 👍🏼 Sorry it's not looking positive 🙁

Staaaaaay hep! Although I understand - I feel glum and completely want to give up from time to time.

HepKestrel · 06/06/2017 20:44

Thanks all Smile

Flashinthepan · 06/06/2017 20:53

hep I can only echo what everyone else has said, please don't leave. I know I haven't been trying as long as you but I've seriously considered going back on the pill lately, partly to stop the bleeding I've had but also because at least I could have some time not wondering if I was pregnant, not thinking about TTC, just living. So I think I maybe understand a little bit how you feel.

AlexiaB · 06/06/2017 21:07

Thank you Kerry 😙 He's fine, shaken up but determined to carry on as normal and not let them win. Sorry to hear about your friend too. It's a very scary time right now! Glad you got the progesterone sorted, I really hope you're successful this cycle hun xx

Hep I'm with everyone else, please stick around! Sorry you're feeling down, hope the run helped Flowers

Sorry it looks like AF is on the way Pug Sad It never gets easier.

Hope you get a positive tomorrow Jam

sk1pper · 06/06/2017 21:30

Jam - what's your average ovulation day? Clomid did delay mine last cycle but only by a few days.

Flashinthepan · 06/06/2017 21:32

So nice to hear from you Alexia.

otters2017 · 06/06/2017 21:43

Thanks for the new thread jam

Age 38 - hep i'm also an oldie!
TTC #1, cycle 18
no BFPs ever Sad
AF due 4th July
Currently on cycle 4 of clomid but last 3 haven't worked.
Low AMH
Booked an appointment for consultation for private IVF 22/6/17 - just need to know what I have something lined up immediately if this cycle fails. Have to get a few bloods and tests done this month in preparation. Feels a little daunting!

Binkybunny13 · 06/06/2017 22:51

Thanks for the new thread jam (hope things with your DH are going better?)

Place marking•••

Binky 32 (DH 35)
Cycle 11 CD25, not convinced I've ovulated this month (but wasn't tracking)
AF due ?13.6
Recent diagnosis PCOS
Never a whiff of a BFP

DH had his SA results back today which he tells me are normal, so now just have to get r fertility clinic referral as the gp promised. Feeling a bit blah with it all on top of a stressful few weeks with family stuff- appreciate some have had much longer journeys but I really struggle with milestones 😞 it's our first wedding anniversary in a couple of weeks and that will really hurt (if I go missing I'm probably having a short wallow in self pity)

Anyway....know I need to put on my big girl pants as some have it much harder, so..

Flora- hope you've not progressed further in your dragon transformation?! 🐉 I think we are at quite a similar stage by the look of things?

Harriet bum bullets 😂 that is a phrase I never thought I'd hear! The crap we have to go through for this sodding TTC- FX for your sticky bean

Lots of ❤️ to hep and Alexia who seem to be having particularly hard times of it. We are here for you

Pug thanks for the link, I'm going to seriously consider that spa trip. Sorry the witch looks like she's on her way

💐 and 🍫to all that have been hit by AF- LSFX all for a flourish of BFPs this thread x

Scandalicity · 07/06/2017 06:56

Thanks for the list jam!! Lots coming up soon Grin

Hope you are doing ok hep Flowers

And so crap about your DH alexia, but you both sound like you're dealing with it so well!

Big fx for flash this morning too Smile

sk1pper · 07/06/2017 07:29

Binky - pain is all relative Binks. I remember the year milestone and it wasn't pretty so can totally sympathise. It's okay to cry and get angry, just don't give up.

Binkybunny13 · 07/06/2017 07:41

Thanks skipper, that message was just what I needed this morning.

I'm going to punch anyone at work who says to me (again- they seem to be on a roll the last couple of weeks) "oh, you'll understand when you're a mother" today! Think the PMS is starting early

Flashinthepan · 07/06/2017 07:59

So Hilda Hopeful has turned into just being a hopeful twat. 12 dpo, bfn on a frer and right on cue boobs have stopped hurting, cramps and red spotting have started. I really believed it this month. At least I had some days of no spotting, which is progress. If only I knew what had caused it so I could do it again next cycle. AF in the next couple of days then I guess.

Binky sorry you were feeling crappy and I will help you punch anyone else who says that to you!

sk1pper · 07/06/2017 08:04

Ohhh no Flash - I was expecting to see a BFP from you too this morning. It is good the spotting stopped though, anything in your app that correlates with it?

Jamon · 07/06/2017 08:45

Skipper average to be fair is Day 15-16 but last month was day 14. Will keep an eye on my old OPK friends.

Thats good you've got your appointment booked otters, that's a few of us moving onto IVF now. I wish I could do it sooner!

Binky that's great news re the SA result. Sorry you're feeling so low , milestones definitely hurt more. We've got a big family wedding in September and I always thought I would be pregnant or breastfeeding at it. I'm trying to look on the bright side that I can drink and dance all night but it doesn't feel like much of a consolation. I hope you have something nice planned for your first wedding anniversary

Oh sorry flash I really thought you'd be joining the grads this month Sad that is good news about no spotting though - perhaps it's your cycles naturally getting more in order?

DH on his way home today. Must make a massive effort to not fall out so we can actually enjoy some GOS.

harrietm87 · 07/06/2017 09:33

Oh no flash. I was so hopeful for you this month. Could it just be too early to test?

binky I know exactly how you feel re wedding anniversary. Mine is in September and I just can't deal with the thought that I won't be pregnant by then. It's so hard. Stay strong and stay with us!

LoveRainbow02 · 07/06/2017 09:41

Your not out until af shows flash. Fx it's just too early.

Brill news for the SA results binky!

Still no sign of af for me. Beginning to worry that I'm not ovulating. Got a strong positive opk last month but that doesn't exactly mean you will ovulate does it? Fed up!

Flashinthepan · 07/06/2017 10:16

Love sorry if there's no chance this could be it, but have you considered POAS?

Flashinthepan · 07/06/2017 10:17

I'm keeping my FX. Also, pulled my FRER out the bin about half an hour after it and thought I could see a faint shadow/line. But not sure if I'm just imagining it at this point. I'll test again Friday if no AF by then. My boobs do ache again. They seem to ache less in the morning and then get worse through the day.

AlexiaB · 07/06/2017 10:18

Flash ugh I'm so sorry Flowers I hope less spotting becomes your norm now and fx it was just too early.

Binky great news about your dh's SA. I agree with the girls, milestones are always very hard to reach when you're not where you hoped and expected you would be. I found 1 year particularly difficult so how you're feeling is totally understandable. I can vividly remember sobbing in the shower for the first time then. I too will help you punch anyone who dares to say that to you Shock

It's our 6th Wedding Anniversary on Friday and I'm not excited one bit. I don't even know what we're doing for it but I need to at least get a card for dh today. If I'm honest I'd rather just skip it because there's nothing to celebrate. What with doing dh's visa at the moment it's also dragging up loads of emotions because I always thought when it came to reapply we would have a baby or be pregnant at least. There are so many questions about children I feel like I need to address it in my letter. I don't want them thinking - 6 years and no kids? Is this actually a real relationship? I've also asked my parents to write a letter of support and asked them to mention that they're looking forward to grandchildren in the near future 💔 FML

Jam good luck with operation GOS. Your timing will be perfect this cycle if you get your positive today / tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a good day xx

harrietm87 · 07/06/2017 10:26

Aaah flash! Fx for you. If you have progesterone left now is the time to take it. Will be thinking of you.

Sorry alexia that must be so hard for you. I'm sure no one looking at the visa app will question that you don't have kids yet, so please don't beat yourself up about something else.
