Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has well and truly worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Key:
HS - have/had sex
GOS - good old shag
ELH - enthusiastic lavatory happenings
LSFX - legs spread, fingers crossed

Enjoy the drinks pyjamas, you deserve it. I asked about Emma Cannon, she sounds like a bit of a fertility guru. Let us know how you get on when you go to see her. I'm a bit annoyed with my reflexologist lady as she recommended the psychic to me (it's her friend) and when I said I felt a bit crap as she said we wouldn't conceive till July, she said she is a very good reader so try not to be disappointed..! Everything else she said was a load of old cobblers so I'm not bothered, just a bit annoyed at my reflexology lady!

Sorry that AF arrived jam, I was really hoping you'd get your BFP this month but love your positivity. Hope the festival is good.

We went to see the nutritionist yesterday that Dr Ramsay recommended to us. I was a little bit sceptical if I'm honest but she was absolutely brilliant. She has recommended loads of foods that are good for DH's sperm dna fragmentation and lots of supplements so we're looking forward to cracking on with our new project now. We both like being in control and having a bit of focus so actually quite looking forward to doing it. Apparently watercress is a big one for sperm and lots of veggies for us ladies to help with the eggs. Once I get the full info pack through, I'll post anything else that I think might be helpful x

Keeping my fx for you both flora and fox

You know the one thing that's really pissed me off? DH attitude. He got all freaked out when I thought I was pregnant. He finds starting a family nerve wracking - which is understandable - but FFS we've been trying for 21 cycles now. Get a fucking grip.

I'm glad I'm away from him this weekend. I've expressed how incredibly hurt and pissed off I am and he says he's sorry. I just feel like here I am heartbroken that my period came - and is he feeling secretly relieved? He says not just that he gets nervous but Christ haven't I been through enough?????

Men 😡

Catching up after a somewhat overwhelming week.

So sorry about AF Jam and about DH's reaction too. That must be so difficult to deal with right now. Sending you lots of love and inspired by your attitude Flowers
*
Chlo*, my diet recently has been shocking so very grateful for any tips from your nutritionist!

Glad you're having a good weekend pyjamas and that the counselling this week was helpful.

Flora, thinking of you for tomorrow and hoping AF stays away. Same for you Flash.

Lovely to see you Harriet. I've never heard of superovulation before but at least you know that you've done all that you can this cycle and then some!

Feel better soon hep,

Sorry to anyone I've missed. We were supposed to go to a barbecue today but I'm so glad it got cancelled because of the rain because I'm having a lovely lazy Saturday instead!

Flashinthepan · 23/07/2017 08:14

jam really sorry your DH wasn't more supportive yesterday.

Glad you had a relaxed day kathrino. Sounds like you needed it!

12 dpo and expected AF to be in full.flow this morning but nothing. Yesterday my spotting was 2 or 3 small.clots, rather than bleeding, which is super weird and also gross so sorry about that! My boobs still hurt too. I poked around and cervix is hard but completely closed and no blood. I tested yesterday and bfn so not sure whether to just wait for AF to arrive and hope it's just the Agnus castus extending my LP.

Lemon - about a year after coming off the pill I experienced the same issues as you (though only got the pain after sex in the luteal phase). I did a lot of research and read that if you experience terrible period pains, shifting your diet can help radically. So I've cut out alcohol (unless special occasions), only have one cup of coffee or tea a day, steer clear of wheat and homogenised milk (they are complex food groups which the body struggles to break down) and reduced sugar intake massively. This year, the only month I had excruciating pain was the month of my wedding/honeymoon where I completely let go. It may be worth trialing something like this?

sk1pper · 23/07/2017 08:57

Jam - your DH sounds so insecure, he's had wobbles like this before hasn't he? Like when you bought you new home. He really does need to get a grip and support you like he's meant to.

Chlo22 · 23/07/2017 11:51

Sorry to hear that about your DH jam, that's not really on. Is he younger? Not that that's an excuse, just trying to understand why he might be freaking out about it. Have you heard from him much this weekend? Hope you've had a good time anyway.

I can't seem to shake this feeling of being a bit down about everything. I feel positive about everything, it's just the waiting game that's really getting to me now. Maybe because it's coming up to two years, not too sure. I find weekends really difficult as we'd normally socialise with friends but now our friends are either expecting or have young babies and their lives have changed and ours haven't and it just makes you feel so left out and isolated. Bleurgh.

QuietTime · 23/07/2017 17:02

I know what you mean chlo Just back from a wedding and couple who got married week before us last year are due first kid next month :s Does feel like others are moving forward while our life's in limbo. Plus it's CD1 here...

kwick · 23/07/2017 20:22

Sounds like a productive appt chlo but why oh why can't jam doughnuts be fertility boosting???? 😩

jam 😡 I am glad when you guys say stuff like this that I am on my lonesome!

lemon hope you are feeling better

Well I have had a busy weekend - early morning outdoor swim yesterday, then some shopping, then planning my home improvements, crap sleep, then AF arrived a day early (which is fine by me), then went to the allotment, then more shopping then late lunch at my mum's, then moved new table and chairs I had delivered to my mum's (in May ☺️) to my flat, then had a lovely bath 🛀

Hi guys, hope everyone's had nice weekends? I've had a really busy few days so just catching up

Thank you for the kind wishes re: my appointment 😊 I had a semi meltdown but it was ok in the end- I have a hycosy booked in a few weeks and am going to have bloods and US monitoring of a cycle to check my ovulation status. So now just waiting for AF to start so I can get that booked (hopefully will start tomorrow so I can get booked in before I go on holiday at the weekend). Feeling better for having a plan 👍

Good luck for new job tomorrow skipper 🤞

Sorry for AF jam 😞 hope you've had lots of wine and cheese this weekend. You are so right that life will change hugely when you get preggo and enjoying today is totally the right approach. Sorry that your DH is being daft though- so difficult to deal with when you've got your own emotions 💐 Has he pulled himself together now?

How are you feeling now flash? And lemon with your horrible pains? Hope you've both had chilled weekends

Kwick your weekend sounds amazing (apart from annoying AF) and the pics are great! I agree that donuts should be fertility boosting- I'd be super fertile if so!

Know I'm a few days late but the Friday positivity is so infectious- thank you all 😊

Right, off for love island and a little bit of relaxation before another stressful work week (booo!) Sending good things to everyone on the thread 😘

sk1pper · 23/07/2017 21:07

Kwick - love your photos, tomatoes look lovely. I have a large garden and have 3 veggie plots, had a very successful harvest of strawberries and my raspberries look like they could do well this year.

Binky - your post was lovely and upbeat. Glad to hear you are doing a bit better now. I went to a wedding yesterday, I was driving and couldn't drink but despite that I had a deep and soulful conversation with my sister. She's a neonatal nurse and she's well aware of the frailty of life and how it can be taken away without warning. This has come out way more depressing than I meant it to be - I guess what I'm trying to say is live life to the full every day and try to push your worries and concerns away. We are all on the path we're meant to be on and we'll get to where we're headed eventually, just enjoy the ride.

Flashinthepan · 23/07/2017 21:32

binky well I'm a bit freaked out as AF never arrived, boobs are still big and sore and tomorrow I'm officially late. I'm going to test on Tuesday if it doesn't appear tomorrow. I really don't want it to arrive but I'm trying to keep calm. Im in knicker checking mode. Hope you have a happier week. You're positivity is lovely.

Kwick the allotment is looking fab! Can't wait for our tomatoes to ripen. We're away in France for a week from next weekend so hopefully they won't all ripen while we're away!

Lemon sorry you had a rough night. I've still got my lurgy too and I wish it would.piss off! I haven't been properly ill in so long!

Sorry about af quiet. Hope you can have a peaceful Sunday evening with some good distractions.

QuietTime · 23/07/2017 21:42

Thanks flash - have everything crossed for you, hope tomorrow isn't torture xxx

kwick · 24/07/2017 07:58

binky I had a hycosy - hurt like fcuk, should have taken painkillers before hand - but I certainly benefited from the post hycosy fertility boost (shame that bean did not stick).

skipper have a great first day 😘

Happy Monday everyone!

Flashinthepan · 24/07/2017 09:35

I'm late as of today. Boobs still sore. Too scared to test. Tomorrow 14 dpo so will get a free today and test. I still feel I'm being a hopeful twat though and AF will appear any.minute.

harrietm87 · 24/07/2017 09:37

Aaah flash good luck! And well done for holding out til you're late - you should be able to get a conclusive result. Fx for you!

Flashinthepan · 24/07/2017 09:42

Thanks Harriet. It feels ridiculous that I'd rather not know and hope than know and be disappointed!

How are you doing?

harrietm87 · 24/07/2017 10:01

Aw flash I'm so hopeful for you!

I'm 5dpo and testing on Sunday or Monday. Obvs not even any symptoms to spot yet though I've put on so much weight on these steroids - it's so depressing!

HepKestrel · 24/07/2017 11:31

LSFX for you flash

AF due on Saturday for me.

jealous of your tomatoes! we struggle to get ours to ripen...

We need a new thread !!!!!!!!!!

bassetmum · 24/07/2017 11:38

Fx flash!!

Jealous of the tomatoes kwick. I have loads just none ripened yet.

For those that know about my thyroid issues my t4 was 27 from last week down from an original level of 63. My tsh was still low though so still on meds for another 3 months. So hopefully my levels can be sorted sooner rather than later so can start ttc again.

Jamon · 24/07/2017 13:26

Any ideas for new thread title name?

How about

TTC#1 - Jam and her dodgers still riding the bonking bus for that elusive BFP!

I am assuming that nobody minds being referred to as a dodger?

Pretty sure AF is here for me ladies, a day late and very light but here right enough. I'm actually OK - looking forward to my holiday now.

Flashinthepan · 24/07/2017 14:02

Haha I'd love to be one of jam's dodgers. Sorry about AF Flora but glad you have holiday coming up. Where are you off to? I'm heading to a France on Sunday and can't wait!
