Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Key:
HS - have/had sex
GOS - good old shag
ELH - enthusiastic lavatory happenings
LSFX - legs spread, fingers crossed

Sorry some of you are all going through such tough times.

I post on here because it helps to get my frustrations out to those who understand. My DH thankfully is a very calming influence on me and that helps too. I also think because we have been thinking about ttc for so long (4+ years of not preventing but not actively trying, coming up for 2 years of actively trying) and because I have a condition that I know affects fertility, I've almost accepted that we would struggle and may not actually end up with a baby.

Speaking of which, had a letter about my scan results. Ovaries looked normal (no cysts!) but my right appears to be 'stuck to the posterior aspect of the uterus, likely due to adhesions.

So now I'm thinking 1) do I not have PCOS after all? 2) what the hell have caused adhesions?!
Adhesions in that area would normally be because of previous operations and I've never had an operation in my life. Or endometriosis. Endo seems more likely as up until just after we started ttc in October 2015, I had horrendous period pains, I still get quite painful ovulation especially on my right side and all the other symptoms I've read about seem to make sense. I have to wait until 24th August to find out! As soon as bmi hits 35 (nearly there!) I will be ringing to try and bring that forward.
Something else to torture myself over.

Mrstobe90 · 01/06/2017 16:01

pugmummy I've just had adhesions removed a few weeks back and they were completely random! Some of us are just lucky that way lol

Pyjamas81 · 01/06/2017 16:45

Oh jam - that sounds exactly what I've been like during arguments with DH, I was completely unhinged. It's so so horrible and so difficult to turn around because feelings are so raw. Sounds like the Clomid is really having a negative effect 🙁 Perhaps not worth it if it means you're both too upset to HS.

Good to hear someone is joining me in FW anaconda! Hope he's got enough energy! We're meant to HS tonight - going for a quick drink after work then heading home. To be honest, I'd rather stay out - terrible isn't it.

sk1pper · 01/06/2017 17:21

Jam - I would definitely stop taking the Clomid if I was you. Your situtation is a bit different to mine, your long term TTC isn't really unexplained as such and most the "fixing" needs to be on your fellas side. I know you want to be giving yourself as much of an edge as possible me but not at the expense of your marriage and mental well being. Xx

Kathrino · 01/06/2017 17:55

Oh Jam, it sounds so hard. How are you feeling today? Clomid sounds like an absolute nightmare. Take care of yourself Flowers

I think I'm just entering FW too pyjamas and anaconda except I have zero enthusiasm for anything. Can't even remember the last time we HS so hoping ovulation holds off until the weekend when we might feel a bit more frisky.

Flash, so sorry things are so tough for you still. Are you going back to see the gynae soon? Can absolutely see how demoralising this must be for you.

Well done on the run hep, that's brilliant!

Sorry about AF Kerry.

Apologies to anyone I've missed. Running loads of client workshops at the moment so utterly knackered. Bring on the weekend.

Anaconda33 · 01/06/2017 17:57

YAy! So glad to be in the company of fellow FWers who also would Really Rather Not!!!!

QuietTime · 01/06/2017 18:21

Ugh, can feel AF cramps starting so am guessing it's on the way. On the plus side Hmm, I'm another one who's been encouraged to buy a Mooncup - will have a test on the weekend. What larks.

Sorry flash and jam - I second the others re the Clomid, jam; could you check in with your GP?

pug hope you get some answers soon

kath, ana, I hear you re fertile week - rapidly losing it's appeal...

hep, well done on the run!

KerryLeanne84 · 01/06/2017 19:02

Thank you Flora - I am okay. Just a little sad but the sunshine is helping

Pyjamas81 · 01/06/2017 19:15

Hooray for fellow FW-but-can't-be-arsed-ers!

Just heard that someone I totally can't stand at work who's been seeing her boyfriend for about three months is pregnant. FML.

Went for smear test today - First test out of about 800 on the IVF checklist to go!

bassetmum · 01/06/2017 21:37

Sorry you are having a bad time of it jam. Maybe the clomid isnt the best for you.

I am totally in the fw cba group!!

Sorry for af kerry.

Fx all goes well for you pjs.

Gross question for you all. Does anyone else have really disgusting farts and bowel movements during the last week of the month?? I think I could kill someone with mine at the moment. Keep occasionally feeling nauseous cd25 today but i have had this before so not sure its a preggers sign

Londonjam · 01/06/2017 22:17

Sorry Kerry 💐💐💐

Thanks for all your sweet help with clomid. I've finished my 5 days so it's in me now! The affects last all cycle so I've just got to ride it out. DH knows I'm a bit of a liability now so hopefully he'll cut me some slack and we can let things defuse.

Skipper technically we are now unexplained as DH has had two normal SA tests now. I know what you mean though and I'm not sure I'll take it again. I'll see how the rest of this cycle goes!

Rainbow not everyone gets the side effects so you might be alright - definitely worth asking your doctor. I ovulate normally but there are other benefits - better quality eggs and possibly releasing more than one

Great news on your ovaries and weight loss pug - I wonder if those are related? That must be worrying re adhesions but it's a good thing they know and can sort out a plan to treat it

Thanks kath just Friday to get through and you're almost there

Sorry quiet hope it stays away

Londonjam · 01/06/2017 22:18

Basset - yes every month. Loose bowels and awful wind in the last few days of the cycle. As if it's not bad enough!

sk1pper · 01/06/2017 23:21

Jam - oh! How did I miss this? Well that's a double edged sword, good he has no issue but rubbish you fall into the magical world of unexplained fertility. Glad you've managed the full cycle of Clomid, maybe that's all you'll need 😉 Hope you don't get any of the post ovulation nausea that I got, think it started around 2dpo and lasted for 3-4 days. Every woman is different though so hopefully you've had your fair share of symptoms already.

sk1pper · 01/06/2017 23:23

Quiet - good luck with your mooncup. I've given up on mine, it was leaking and riding too far up my vagina. There was no way to get it out cleanly...I think I need he larger size but it'll have to wait now. Need to save my money and I've got enough tampons and pads to last a few months.

QuietTime · 01/06/2017 23:40

Thanks skipper - I did read somewhere (on MN?) of someone having to go to their GP to get theirs out Shock Some fun and games in store just to round AF off nicely, no doubt...

Speaking of which, yep basset - day before and first day of AF usually...lovely Blush

LoveRainbow02 · 02/06/2017 07:52

Bassett I always get bad gas about 2 days before I'm due af, it's horrible!

Jam did you get prescribed clomid? My gp has never once offered this to me and neither has my fertility consultant. Ive heard so many woman with unexplained infertility using it and it actually helped them so I'd like to give it a go. As far as I'm aware I will be using it alongside my IUI treatment but surely it's worth trying on it's own before treatment. Hope you are feeling better.

Jeds55 · 02/06/2017 09:30

Morning all, hectic work week, so glad it's nearly weekend.
Sorry to those that af got and Lisa if you are reading am thinking of you.
9dpo today, getting random cramps but have been getting those all thru cycle. This has been going on too long to get excited now. Pug how were your adhesions diagnosed? Am really worried I have scarring caused by 2 ops close together in Jan.
Glad others dread the fw too - a whole month of hope built up into one week. Such a relief when it's over! Couples who day they are enjoying ttc cannot have been doing it for long!!

Flashinthepan · 02/06/2017 09:38

Basset I tend to get that during AF rather than before, but yes it is horrible, it feels like all of my insides have died and are falling out in one go!

Kathrino the gynae has discharged me back to the GP as he scanned my uterus and said there's no sign of anything that could be causing the spotting. This has confirmed for me that it is hormonal, and I feel like if I went back on the pill, that could confirm it. I don't really want to do that, as I'm afraid going back on hormonal contraception might mess me up even more, and I really want a baby, although the gynae did say if I wasn't TTC he would recommend it for a few months, the progesterone was really a second best option.

I'm keeping my FX for you Jam that the stress of the clomid will be worth it, and also that maybe the first month will be the worst, because your body is doing something/responding to something it's not used to?

Does it feel good to finally be on the road to something happening re IVF Pyjamas?

Sorry to hear about your scan Pug. I hope that they can give you some answers.

Sorry to anyone heading into FW who CBA. It's sad, when we started TTC the TWW was the worst, then after a while AF was the worst, now FW often sucks so there's just a tiny window between AF and FW to feel chilled!

I think I've decided to make an appointment with the GP to discuss going back on the pill temporarily. I'm also hoping if she/he sees my desperation at the spotting etc that they might be willing to do some hormone tests or something.

harrietm87 · 02/06/2017 09:42

Hi everyone. jam so sorry about the bad reactions to clomid - poor you and your DH! What cd are you now? Hopefully it has paid off!

lisa how are you? And alexia hope you are ok?

basset I'm another one with ELH around AF!

AF just finishing for me, CD5 today. I ovulate quite late so have about a week before FW starts, but am going to try EOD this cycle from tonight.

harrietm87 · 02/06/2017 09:44

flash has the progesterone not made any difference at all? Definitely think you should speak to your GP again as it's definitely not normal. Sometimes people are prescribed norethisterone (is that it?!) to regulate their cycles which is one off rather than the pill?

Flashinthepan · 02/06/2017 10:03

LSFX for the EOD Harriet.

The progesterone made the bleeding worse during last LP and this month I ovulated super early and started bleeding straight away, before I could even start the progesterone, so I haven't bothered.

Good shout about Norethisterone though, I'd forgotten about that so will definitely ask. Have a GP telephone appointment on Monday so hopefully she'll be able to prescribe over the phone as the next post 5pm appointment isn't until the middle of June!

I'm crampy today, and my nipples stopped hurting yesterday , spotting has ramped up and I'm feeling sick, so expecting a very early AF, as it's only 7 dpo.

sk1pper · 02/06/2017 10:47

Sorry about your bleeding Flash Sad wish I had some advice for you. Think you need to have a good chat with your GP, not sure going on the pill is the answer though. Progesterone just doesn't suit you, as others have said - there must be alternatives to try.

I've decided to take a promotion at work, it was offered to me so I'm very lucky. I'm quite anxious about the extra responsibilities and telling my current boss the bad news but when/if I get pregnant the extra money will help massively. Can't put my life on hold anymore.

Flashinthepan · 02/06/2017 10:49

Oh Skipper that's fantastic! Congratulations! Hope you can do something nice this evening/this weekend to celebrate.

You're right about the Pill, it just holds off a problem I need to deal with and ultimately, I really want a baby, so delaying that won't help me either. And aside from TTC, it's ruining my sex life because there are 3 weeks every month where I can't have sex even if I wanted to!

Hopefully when I speak to the Dr on Monday she will be willing to listen.

sk1pper · 02/06/2017 10:51

Quiet - I can understand why some women have gone to a&e and their GPS to get them out. If you panic, it's almost impossible to get it out. I've found taking deep breaths and just bearing down (like your going to do a poo) will eventually make it accessible. I really don't feel like there is any clean way to get mine out though, if it's gone too far in you really have to root your fingers around up there and you end up with menstrual blood everywhere. I think my periods may be too heavy for it. Not going to give up though, will try the larger size and go from there.

sk1pper · 02/06/2017 10:53

Flash - how bad is the bleeding if you don't mind me asking? I admit it's grim having sex when there's blood (though some couples do it) but maybe a bath before bed could be enough to see you through?
