Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Key:
HS - have/had sex
GOS - good old shag
ELH - enthusiastic lavatory happenings
LSFX - legs spread, fingers crossed

I'm so sorry Lisa - thinking of you 💐 I really hope you get some answers soon.

Know what you mean about not being bothered about re-stocking the TTC supplies skipper. If I was running low this month, I'm not sure I could bring myself to bother either. Hope you feel better soon - there's nothing anyone can say, it's just shit isn't it.

Jam - that's exactly what I have to stop myself from thinking with IVF! I can sometimes see it as a big magic baby button and I really need to give myself a big reality check when my imagination runs away from me.

Just ticking along over here waiting for FW to kick off (starts on Weds according to FF, but probably won't start until Thurs - we tire out quickly!). Feel pretty flat about the whole thing. Also have to buy a maternity leave present for someone on my team this week - obviously happy and excited for her, but it's still hard.

Flashinthepan · 30/05/2017 21:31

I'm with you on the big magic baby button. Partly because it would bypass my tube and makes me less scared of another ectopic. But of course I know it's no such thing!

I'm so sorry for all the bad/sad news today and all the challenges everyone's facing. It's just so unfair.

Completely understand what you mean about IVF skipper it is a lot to go through, physically and emotionally, and doesn't guarantee a baby.

Nothing happening here except my nipples feel like someone has dipped then in hot wax. 4 dpo and I have conquered my fear over the weird cycle. Just have to accept it's a weird one and wait for the next one to be more normal.

Anaconda33 · 30/05/2017 21:37

I'm so sorry so many of you are having a hard time

PYJAmas FFS can't someone else buy the gift? I once was told to organise someone's hen do at work (I was a PA and it seemed to be OK to ask me) weeks after a massive break up

Has anyone done temping? I have irregular and long cycles and subclibical hypothyroid - in five months I've never got a positive OPK (done twice a day). Bought a thermometer and read lots but does it only tell you after you have ovulated?

If I have more circa 40 day cycles in July I'll be ovulating (glow prediction and mine) when partner away

Just ordered 120 OPKs!!!

Londonjam · 30/05/2017 21:57

Kerry agree re something dragging you back in. It doesn't matter how bad I feel when af comes, few days later I'm already thinking we should start having sex again. It's like an illness! So hard to stop once you've started

Skipper that makes perfect sense. Your wedding has come around so quickly! I hope all the plans are coming along well and you're both finding it a happy point of focus

Pyjamas I think it's hard to get your head around the fact that there isn't any guarantee with conception - it seems to be the only thing in life you should be able to do but cannot make happen! The success rates of IVF are much higher than trying naturally though so it's a bit more of a magic button than just shagging. I will definitely be turning to it to hopefully improve our chances. Eurggh to having to buy a maternity gift, can you rope someone into helping you?

Well done for keeping calm and carrying on flash it's not easy and it must be so frustrating when your cycle is weird

Nice work anaconda!

I'm her manager and it's usually the manager who sorts the gift/card etc so will just have to grin and bear it! Just particularly difficult as I remember when she told me she was pregnant and I had just spent 10 mins having a bit of a cry in the loo because AF had arrived. Ah well - it'll be fine.

That's exactly it jam - IVF sometimes feels like I'll be more in control, but deep down I know the odds still aren't great so have to keep myself in check!

That just have been so hard anaconda!

Londonjam · 30/05/2017 22:48

That's so tough pyjamas Sad my lovely colleague and friend is pregnant at the moment too and it kills me seeing her bump grow every week and think why can't this happen to meeeeeeeeee

What's that cheap scan place people here have used please?

So I had a dream that I started running and a month or so later got pregnant. Omen or wishful thinking?

Flashinthepan · 31/05/2017 09:02

Hugs Skipper and go for a run right now!

Anaconda33 · 31/05/2017 09:21

Not to shoot down your aspirations slipper but I started running 10 months ago, ran a half marathon in May and got my mammoth 47 day (but def not according to tests pregnancy at all) cycle!!!!!!

Hope everyone has more positive days today

Londonjam · 31/05/2017 09:23

Get your trainers on skipper! 🏃🏽

harrietm87 · 31/05/2017 09:46

Running is brilliant skipper - so good for you and a great distraction from ttc - you should totally go for it!

I'm having the heaviest AF ever. And in a pretty gross way really enjoying using my mooncup so I can marvel at the sheer quantity! Ha!

Flashinthepan · 31/05/2017 09:50

Haha Harriet. We've all got to get our joy during AF somewhere at this point haven't we! Wink

sk1pper · 31/05/2017 10:00

Anacando - I was laughing so hard because your auto correct renamed me to slipper. 😂

bassetmum · 31/05/2017 10:30

Sorry that I have been quiet on this thread. I struggled to keep up and deal with a busy few weeks and weekends.

Congrats to anyone with a bfp if ive missed any and so sorry for anyone who af got.

I've tried running sk1pper. Did the c25k, wasn't my thing but I have bad knees so that might have been part of it.

I think I am out again this month even though af isn't due till Monday. I had absolutely horrific rage at everything this morning and then had a cry because I think its not worked again. Sodding hormones!!!

Flashinthepan · 31/05/2017 10:52

Sorry you think AF is coming Basset.

In one of my random moments of "let's try something else to get pregnant!" I've decided to try Agnus Castus. Anything to stop this bloody bleeding (no pun intended!)

sk1pper · 31/05/2017 10:59

Flash - what are the benefits of it? I've seen people mention it on the infertility boards. I won't talk about how I always read it as Angus Cactus.

Flashinthepan · 31/05/2017 11:15

Haha me too, I have to be extra careful when I type it!

Well from what I've read, if you take it from AF up to ovulation, it regulates your hormones and promotes ovulation. I suspect that my post ovulation bleeding is related either to low progesterone or weak ovulation.

Honestly it's a desperation bid. My uterus looks normal, my cervix looks normal, noone seems to think there's anything wrong with me.

katiegd · 31/05/2017 11:32

Hi all, sorry for absence. Am on holiday in a place with very little phone signal and no wifi!

So sorry to hear people are struggling and having bad news. I'm around lots of people with babies and toddlers at the moment, which has been a struggle.

AF due in two days and am not feeling positive - getting the bloaty crampy feelings that usually happen about this time. BUT I suppose I'm not out until it comes so trying not to feel too resigned. Only have one test with me so not testing til AF is late.

Keeping my fingers crossed for all those still waiting this month.xx

Tommygirl10 · 31/05/2017 12:04

Hey ladies!

Goodness me this is a busy thread! ...Well I'm currently cd2 of cycle 12 🙃 It's good that I can predict af as it happens exactly 14 days after ovulation... but still can't manage to predict ov as even though I have some quite obvious symptoms it happens on different CD's each month ranging anywhere from cd16-27. Which makes ttc all the more harder. It's so frustrating! Any advice on what I could do to narrow this range down ladies??
sorry to hear about faint tests Lisa. Your OH sounds very supportive and I hope you both manage to sort things soon with the support of your doctor.
As my cycles range from 31 days to 47 days I tried AC for two cycles. It worked quite successfully for me in that it made my cycle shorter (31 days) and I obviously ovulated sooner too. But it only worked successfully on the first cycle that I took it. As my second cycle taking it was 47 days looonnnggg. I took it from cd1 to ov both times.
Good luck to anyone in the tww xx

Pyjamas81 · 31/05/2017 14:05

Definitely go for a run skipper!

Got a faint line on opk yesterday so looks like I'm gearing up right on schedule. Sigh... here we go again...

Mrstobe90 · 31/05/2017 15:24

Thanks :) Really hoping it won't take too long but from reading other peoples stories, it seems like it may be harder to make a baby than I was expecting lol who knew

harrietm87 · 31/05/2017 15:59

Hello mrstobe it's a total lottery really! Hopefully you'll be one of the lucky ones.
