Congratulations peach on the house really pleased for you.

And as for me it's started. I just expected it to start sooner with my bloods dropping so low. Now reality has hit now got to get my head around no more. That's the hardest thing this time. But on a positive note i have spent a wonderful (although no sleep as been on nights) afternoon in the park with dd in the lovely sunshine and my nephew joined us after school too. I love sunshine have i ever said that. Grin

fluffiny31 · 15/03/2017 20:09

Ladies i know this is a ttc thread but I'm really confused. So i thought it had all started but it seems to have stopped. I had a lot of what looked like pink discharge only when i wiped but the loose kind. Sorry tmi what is normal for a natural early miscarriage? I was going to do a test in the morning. Is it normal for things to start like this or is something wrong with me? I don't know if I should be concerned or not.

Miami81 · 15/03/2017 20:13

Fluff
When mine kind of started it very much stopped and started, if that makes sense.

halloumisandwich · 15/03/2017 20:18

fluffy I think it's really varied - a friend of mine sat around for 2 weeks waiting for it to happen only to eventually get a scan and be told it had. I personally had spots of bleeding for two weeks but only when I wiped, and then the blood soaked through my jeans on the way back from my scan and I bled like a period for about a week after that. Maybe take a test in the morning and then call the hospital to see what they say?

tiggykate · 15/03/2017 20:19

Fluff, my third mc was like that - I ended up going for a walk round the block to try and get things going - and then about 4 hours later things got heavier.

xx

fluffiny31 · 15/03/2017 20:43

Ok thanks ladies sorry I'm a pain. I had surgery last time and was a lot further gone this is so new to me. I've been quite active with dd today chasing after her throwing her about etc.

WLMcI · 15/03/2017 20:58

fluff yes I stopped and started with mild cramps and tiny amounts of blood, only thin streaks of red (that's when I went to A&E and got referred to EPU for the scan which confirmed mc). Then it stopped for a day completely, then I woke up the next morning with drastic cramps (continuous contractions really--but again mine was much later in pg, so I hope it won't be very painful for you). That ended after a few hours and the bleeding continued heavily for only about 2 days. For pain relief, alternating ibuprofen and paracetamol is more effective and better for your stomach than either on their own.

WLMcI · 15/03/2017 21:06

Anne and peach thank you! I had a weepy day yesterday, couldn't be bothered to leave the house, but I think you need those hibernating / nesting days every once in a while. I made 4 different recipes and froze them--cooking always makes me feel better! Smile No sign of AF yet; I'm on CD33 but it's not unusual after MC I guess.

AnneLovesGilbert · 15/03/2017 21:10

Sorry it's started fluff, so hard, but at least the crappy waiting is over Flowers

I haven't had one like you describe but there's no one way for it to happen and sounds like other people have had similar experiences. Maybe take a hot bath tonight if you feel like it. Keep dosed up if you're in pain. Have a drink if you need to! I so hope your DP can be supportive if you need a hug or a cry. You know we're here for you.

Also, I know we're a big group now but I don't think anyone minds about Tmi. Making and losing babies is a messy business and you know we've all been there in one way or another. Keep talking when you want to.

Hope everyone else is okay today. I've had a mammoth soak with some lovely bath oil listening to the church bells going mad at ringing practise. Sticking with my intention to embrace comfort and calm. Had a nice walk today, sat in the sun, took myself for coffee and cake after work, now a nice bath and pamper. I'm more than a baby machine Smile

AnneLovesGilbert · 15/03/2017 21:12

I love a decent cook too WLM, glad you're doing stuff that makes you happy. And you couldn't be more right, sometimes you just need to hibernate. No point killing yourself pretending to be okay when you just want to hide x

fluffiny31 · 15/03/2017 21:18

Thats it no pain either. I just feel weird by it all. I've had a nice bath now going to do cross stitch in bed until i fall asleep its been a long day with only two and half hours sleep although I'm not as tired as i thought i would be. I'll probably wake up with a needle stuck in me somewhere Grin or even better dp will come home to a needle on his side of the bed. Haha. Is it strange not to feel really sad yet? I'm being really unrealistic hoping it's all a mistake. And to the lady who's diabetic sorry lost the post i take my hat off to you being so on the ball with eating habits while ttc that has got to be so difficult. Well done.

Miami81 · 16/03/2017 07:07

Fluff
I am so sorry. The waiting is awful. With my second mc I felt no emotions until after the pregnancy had passed, it was like I shut down completely until the physical part had happened. Please be kind to yourself over the coming days.

putputput · 16/03/2017 07:59

Have finally read the new thread and caught up on all your news. I'm so sorry to those with BFNs and sending lots of relaxing vibes to those of you having a month off.

I am 4weeks 6 days today but symptoms seem to be diminishing. My last miscarriage was at 6weeks. Did anyone take baby aspirin? Is it worth a go?

BertieBotts · 16/03/2017 08:01

Yes fluff be kind to yourself. For me it was stop and start both times and I kept having moments of thinking it might be okay, I think those were the hardest feelings.

Remember if you're bleeding more than a normal period or you get pain more or different to normal cramping go to epu. But mine wasn't physically difficult or traumatic.

BertieBotts · 16/03/2017 08:03

Putput, it's worth a try. Symptoms can be all over the place so early though, it doesn't mean anything is wrong.

Fertility friend has given us a good rating for timing and countdowntopregnancy has given me full marks :) that should mean the full 25% chance... fingers crossed!

LisaSimpsonsbff · 16/03/2017 08:29

So sorry, fluff. It took me about two days to start bleeding after the pregnancy test went negative, and they felt like very long days indeed.

Does anyone have any thoughts on when I should start with OPKs? It's been seven days today since the bleeding started and it's now just the odd spot. I use clearblue dual hormone ones and if I'm using their instructions then based on my shortest recent cycle I should start using them from tomorrow (cycle day 8) - but that seems a bit optimistic given I am still slightly bleeding! Would it be best to give it a few days longer? Obviously I don't want to accidentally miss ovulation.

NicolaC17 · 16/03/2017 08:58

Putputput - I took baby aspirin with my third pregnancy (self prescribed) however I still went on to miscarry and earlier than my previous pregnancies. What I've read is that it won't do any harm but it won't prevent a miscarriage unless you have a form of sticky blood.

I got my smiley on my OPK this morning but won't see hubby until tomorrow evening so hope it's right in that I'll ovulate in the next 48 hours and it's nearer the 48 hour mark.

Lisasimpson - maybe do an OPk tomorrow and then every other day till it appears to be getting darker and then daily so then you shouldn't miss it. Xx

fluffiny31 · 16/03/2017 09:23

Fingers crossed to all that are ov at the minute hope the 2ww isn't too painful of a wait.
put fx for you I'm sure everything will be ok hormones are strange things and can change throughout the whole pregnancy.
Well i had cramping on off throughout the night and very small amount of blood. Just wish it would happen. I'm at work later as don't feel i can take more time off so hoping it doesn't have too much of an ill effect

peachgreen · 16/03/2017 12:08

fluff, sending you lots of gentle hugs - hope you're not in too much pain and it all happens soon so you can face the next steps. Thinking of you.

Nicola, crossing my fingers for late O for you!

Lisa, I buy the cheapies in bulk and start around CD10 even though I usually don't ovulate until CD17! I also start DTD every second day at least from CD10 to catch that pre-O 5 day window.

Bertie FX for you!

put could you maybe get some blood tests done to check your numbers? Symptoms coming and going is pretty normal, and it might put your mind at rest. Really hope all is okay.

Anne loving your new pampering regime

halloumisandwich · 16/03/2017 14:05

Lisa I didnt start using the sticks until I got a negative pregnancy test, which I only took 2 weeks after the MC, as advised by the midwives, so now I'm hopeful I missed ovulation as nothing has shown up on the sticks, 8 days later! I think I'll persevere with them for another week just to be safe. peach, nothing yet, this first cycle is such a confusing one! I've been getting odd cramping/ back pain which I'm secretly hoping is implantation while rationally thinking is probably nothing... I'm telling myself I'm going to hold off testing until the end of the month, as DH is taking me away that weekend for my birthday so if it's a BFN I can enjoy a few drinks, but not sure if I'll actually manage to hold off that long. I'm thinking the longer I hold off, the more of the 12 weeks would be out the way without me thinking about them if I am pregnant, but not sure if the not knowing will drive me just as mad!

WLMcI · 16/03/2017 20:48

Nothing at all yet peach; tomorrow is 5 weeks since mc, so it must be a long cycle! Crazy overthinking lady inside me is wondering if I ovulated really late and therefore just tested too early to get a positive, but I've shut her up with a glass of wine (OK, 2 glasses of wine!) at my husband's birthday dinner :) Which was really excellent, incidentally, and in a pub in the middle of nowhere! We're party animals alright, already retired for the night (and not in a romantic, cutaway shot to curtain-blowing-in-the-breeze kind of way. In a can't-be-bothered-to-stay-up-and-watch-crap-tv way.)

fluffiny31 · 16/03/2017 21:22

Wlmcl i like your thinking wine and an early night. Just what I need. SmileWine

Crazyvaperlady · 17/03/2017 09:56

Hi everyone just checking in for a quick (maybe dumb) question.
Do you get EWCM when you're already ovulating or beforehand? I know everyone is different, I just mean as a general rule.
Hope everyone is Okay!

LisaSimpsonsbff · 17/03/2017 10:15

As a general rule beforehand (and that's what I found for me when I checked it with OPKs - though, weirdly, last cycle, the only one where I conceived, was the only one where I got no EWCM at all, so go figure), but as you say it's not a hard and fast rule.
