Thread 27. TTC #1 - we're stressed, we're fed up, we're bitter but I promise this will all be worth it when we're holding our precious babies

Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

Here's our Grad's Thread. May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Key:
HS - have/had sex
GOS - good old shag
ELH - enthusiastic lavatory happenings
LSFX - legs spread, fingers crossed

Thanks Alexia. Glad I did opk this month because as you say the knowledge can really help for future reference. Really hoping my lp is not short though this month fx.

Oh and whoever is making notes I am cycle 6 not 5 as I wrote last night!

MissyJones80s · 12/03/2017 07:48

bluebell sorry to hear you have been having a difficult time and eugh grrr to heavy periods glad your dr has given you something hope it does work eventually FlowersCake

Kathrino · 12/03/2017 08:44

Welcome back bluebell, sorry to hear that you've been finding this all so tough Flowers

Alexia, there's no false hope here at all. Realistically, it's almost impossible for me to be pregnant. The fair more likely answer is that I didn't actually ovulate this cycle and everything's got messed up. I'm definitely leaning towards that as being the reason so we'll see what happens. Nothing I can do it about it!

Sk1pper, glad AF hasn't been as heavy/long as usual. Wishing you the best of luck for this cycle.

Just watching DH run a half marathon (in the rain). Joy.

sk1pper · 12/03/2017 09:28

MrsBlue - they can give you something for heavy periods?! 😮

Kaydee2017 · 12/03/2017 10:15

Hi ladies Brew

Sorry I've been MIA this week! Had a complete sh1tstorm at work this week which resulted in my working so many hours, even had to go in yesterday which I have never done in my years of working for the NHS!!

Have tried to have a read occasionally but haven't had chance to post between getting home from work, eating & going to bed Sad

I think I'd be here until Christmas trying to catch up properly but Flowers for those of you struggling at the moment & hi to any newbies Smile

kwick · 12/03/2017 10:40

Ladies apologies for being MIA - had a really full on week.
Hope I missed loads of good news?

Thanks @AlexiaB for the new thread.

CarleyColie · 12/03/2017 10:42

Hi Tina - sorry AF has arrived. It's a supportive bunch here so you're in good hands. TTC is so different for men so it's nice to talk to other women who understand how it feels for us!

Alexia loving having a cycle buddy! Now hopefully we can both get our BFPs and become bump buddies instead..

Jam that's really positive that you opened up to your friend. It's always going to be tough when someone close to you is pregnant but remember it will be you one day :) really hope you get your BFP soon.

Pyjamas Glad things are looking more positive, hope today goes well.

Yay for positive OPK missy! Hope you've gotten some GOS's in!

Londonjam · 12/03/2017 11:12

PJ I'm glad he gave you a hug and I hope he does some serious apologising. You're not self centred in the slightest please lean on us if you need to.

Quiet so far I'm sitting having a cup of tea in my running stuff... almost there!

Kath I hope AF stays well away. Are you testing? I try not to fixate on dates too much but the 2017 thing had occurred to me too - as had having to worry about having a Christmas baby again. Can't believe that was my concern this time last year - little did I know having a baby at Christmas time was the least of my flipping worries..

Bluebell sorry you're feeling low 💐

That sounds v v stressful kaydee hope you're able to unwind today

Kathrino · 12/03/2017 11:46

Jam, tested yesterday and it was a BFN so won't bother again for a while. If there was anything there, it should have shown up yesterday.

Kwick, I'm struggling to think of a single piece of good news :/ I hope your hectic week of travelling wasn't too tough and this week is a bit kinder to you.

Kaydee, what a week! Do you get TOIL or anything?

Kaydee2017 · 12/03/2017 11:54

Jam - I am camped on my sofa today with exactly zero intentions of moving until tea time!!

Kath - paid overtime at the mo, no point taking the time back, just puts me further behind when I am there! Money is handy though!! Sorry about your BFN & no AF too Flowers

MissyJones80s · 12/03/2017 12:13

carly yup had a GOS this morning did another opk and still strong line cd18 now so just waiting to see if my lp is on my side this month let alone even thinking about BFP...I'm hoping for a cycle at least 10 days long so fx

kaydee I feel for you don't feel the need to catch up life is hectic enough without having to catch up on pages or MN as well Smile

sk1pper · 12/03/2017 12:44

hey ladies! Welcome (Tina, glad you found us!

Update from me - AF arrived last night so it was just a long cycle (for me). I didn't get really upset though which was positive (not judging anyone who does, I have many times). I can now call the hospital tomorrow and get ready for a second attempt at IUI this month. (the first one was called off as I ovulated over a weekend) which is something.

This morning we've been to an open event at the fertility clinic near us which is where we'd be referred for IVF if the 3 IUIs don't work (on the NHS). It was really reassuring to be in a room with so many other couples (and some individual ladies) in the same boat and to hear about the options and techniques available.

On another note - has anyone else read this book? I just read it and at first I was dismissive of the mumbo-jumbo stuff but I changed my mind. It's so moving, positive and interesting - really worth a read. I got it from my library. www.amazon.co.uk/Art-Baby-Making-Gerad-Kite/dp/1909878464?tag=mumsnetforum-21

Kaydee2017 · 12/03/2017 13:27

Thanks for keeping the list up to date jam!!

Tentatively adding that I got my positive this morning.

Very very aware of what can happen, so we had a minute or 2 of excitement but I'd very much like to remain here for the time being if that's ok with you ladies? Smile

Kaydee2017 · 12/03/2017 13:30

Cross post Kerry! Sorry for AF, but good to see there you'd be referred for IVF - hopefully you won't need it!!

KerryLeanne84 · 12/03/2017 13:35

Congratulations Kaydee - that's wonderful news!

Binkybunny13 · 12/03/2017 13:43

Congratulations kaydee! Great news- may this new thread bring some more good news!

Thanks for the list jam x

Binkybunny13 · 12/03/2017 13:44

And sorry for AF Kerry

harrietm87 · 12/03/2017 13:46

Congrats kaydee!!! Did you have any symptoms? And what dpo are you?

I have missed out on so much - pyjamas can't believe your DH wrote like that. But glad it seems like he's thawing a bit and hope you can get over this soon. Agree with all the good advice here, and you've done nothing wrong.

I'm 7dpo today and had a beer last night. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. Last cycle I didn't drink for 30 days (dry January) and I still miscarried so I'm trying to go a bit easier on myself. Not feeling positive about my chances this month anyway.

We're on hols for 2 weeks from wed so I mightn't be able to post as much. Also means I'll be away when AF comes. Sigh.

Londonjam · 12/03/2017 14:05

Sorry AF got you Kerry but glad to hear you are feeling strong and that the open day went well

Congratulations kaydee! Fx for a sticky one

CarleyColie · 12/03/2017 14:34

Great work missy, FX for you!

Jam can you update me to 13 April please? -although if this cycle is as unpredictable as the last one god knows when AF is expected!-

Sorry AF got you too Kerry, but good that you took it well. Glad you had a positive experience at the fertility clinic and are keeping upbeat.

Eeek Kaydee!! Congratulations!! How many DPO are you? And did you do anything different this cycle?

Are you off anywhere exciting Harriet? Hope you have a lovely holiday and AF stays away for you.

QuietTime · 12/03/2017 15:04

23 March for me jam -thank you

Congrats kaydee, lovely news!!

KerryLeanne84 · 12/03/2017 15:14

Thanks kind ladies for the thoughts! CarleyColie Jam Binkybunny13 & Kaydee Flowers

I'm now sat with a hot water bottle trying to stop eating chocolate!

Flashinthepan · 12/03/2017 15:25

Hello ladies. Sorry I've been awol and obviously missed lots. Thanks for the new list jam I am not keeping much track but will probably test 24 March if no af. I do have good news which is that I started taking b 50 mega complex at the end of last cycle, and I am now cd 16 I think approx 3 days post ov, and I have had absolutely no spotting. Not even after sex. Not at all. And I have only really mild post ov symptoms, boobs only slightly tender and not swollen, no bloating. I feel great! So anyone looking for a boost I would highly recommend.
