Thread 27. TTC #1 - we're stressed, we're fed up, we're bitter but I promise this will all be worth it when we're holding our precious babies

Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

Here's our Grad's Thread. May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Key:
HS - have/had sex
GOS - good old shag
ELH - enthusiastic lavatory happenings
LSFX - legs spread, fingers crossed

Pyjamas you deserve those 4 chocolate bars. Here's a Brew to go with them.

Well Alexia I never knew that. Kindof wishing I could hold onto my 12 day OV now and new 14 day LP, but that might just be greedy!

Mrsbluebell17 · 03/04/2017 14:08

Not really quiet. Although I'm finding it very hard to think of anything else!!! Shock

Miranda234 · 03/04/2017 15:31

I'm good thanks Alexia, still lurking here as I don't feel quite ready to go to the grads thread yet! I'm 7 weeks this week, I don't really have too many symptoms so far which is good and bad as I don't want to be sick but at the same time I wish I was so that I know everything is ok! I'm sure I'm going to regret saying that Grin

WingingIt83 · 03/04/2017 16:02

Congrats bluebell!!

Alexia that's really interesting, yet again something I didn't know. I ovulate late -typically 16-18 and coupled with a sometimes short LP and DHs poor morphology and adequate count makes me want to try and get as many marginal gains ticked off as I can.

Feeling very naughty today -started opking again this month in evening. Last night's was darker (but not positive) but enough to make me test with fmu this morning which was almost positive. DH working from home so I told him to expect me home at lunchtime after i made up some excuses with work GrinWink
Got home at lunch and did another opk got a stonker of a line so had GOS in between emails Blush.

Flashinthepan · 03/04/2017 16:31

Excellent dedication to the cause there Winging!

harrietm87 · 03/04/2017 16:41

Oh yay congrats bluebell!!!!

Also congrats on vending machine win pyjamas! All my fingers are crossed for those in the tww - thread must be on a lucky streak now.

If anyone is interested - when I conceived in Jan I had been eating really healthily and not drinking. After my mc in Feb I basically comfort ate for the whole month, put on a few pounds, had lots of drinks (including in the tww, though spread out - I didn't get drunk). I also started taking a baby aspirin every day and used conceive plus for the first time. Not sure if any of that affected things one way or the other - suspect probably not!

Oh and I ovulate on day 20 usually. I had a 10/11 day LP until I started the vit b complex (thank you alexia and miracle vitamin!) and got it to 13 days.
Really interesting that late ov is bad - maybe explains my mcs.

harrietm87 · 03/04/2017 16:41

Amazing winging!!!

WingingIt83 · 03/04/2017 17:09

off to boots to buy baby aspirin

WingingIt83 · 03/04/2017 17:11

Sorry didn't mean to bold that!
I'm guessing too late to have an effect on cd15 but might as well start.

Oh and must add my monthly pineapple to my list as well!

Tonks87 · 03/04/2017 17:42

Congratulations bluebell! Smile

AlexiaB · 03/04/2017 19:53

Just want to say sorry if I offended anyone who O's later. It definitely doesn't mean it can't/won't happen for you, and anything under 20-25 days is ok (bit of a time waste though!). I'd never want to unnecessarily scare/worry any of you. I was just trying to show what can happen with Clomid.

Flash a 28 or 26 day cycle is equally good. Personally I'd prefer CD12 as it saves time! I think a LP of 12+ days is fine too, anything more is just a bonus. Most healthy embryos will have implanted by day 12 anyway. Most people get their sticky BFPs on or before 12 dpo.

Amazing dedication Winging fx it pays off! Starting aspirin in the tww is fine, some people only take it at this point (I take it all cycle long except during AF).

I think it was probably a mix of the aspirin and luck harriet. Is your DH feeling more relaxed/excited about becoming a dad now? Glad all is going well xx

Good to hear Miranda Smile Are you having an early reassurance scan?

Just seen the box new babies get in Scotland on the One Show. What a bloody awesome gift!

glitteryvibes · 03/04/2017 22:53

skipper is that like they do a box in norway(?), or somewhere in scandenavia? I didnt see it on tv so not sure if its the same thing but a box that contains a matress so the box can be used as a crib and then contains useful baby stuff like napies, blankets etc.

congratulations bluebell so happy for you, fx for a healthy 9 months. this thread is on a role at the moment, fx to all testing this week.

alexia here is my chart for this month. i only did an opk with fmu the day before the positive one. the day of the positive it was positve with fmu and again in the afternoon but negative the next day. i normally get 2 days of positives so thinking if i had done the previous day afternoon it may have been positive?? who knows.

SmittenPears · 04/04/2017 01:43

Congratulations bluebell!!! :D

Mrsbluebell17 · 04/04/2017 05:14

Thanks all. Very, very apprehensive so will be sticking around and going on the grads thread too. Hope noone minds.

Pyjamas how was the rest of your day?

Binkybunny13 · 04/04/2017 07:22

So I got distracted half way through posting yesterday and then bluebell got her BFP (massive congratulations 🎉🎉) and all the talk happened! Had to catch up loads again!

Fx alexia- I'm no charter but that looks promising!

Pyjamas so sorry you had a crap time with your DH- glad that you spoke and good that counselling is on the agenda. A really positive step I think. Hope you had a better night sleep? (And that the choc helped yesterday!)

Sorry for AF jam 💐

Winging very inspiring GOS action!

I'm a late OV-er, think I ovulated yesterday (early for me at day 19!) but am continuing with my EOD approach as my body continually surprises me. Hope that doesn't mean my eggs are crappy! I want good juicy eggs that the sperm are desperate to catch! 😂

sk1pper · 04/04/2017 07:29

Hmm no period but red and brown spotting, so pretty sure it's on it's way. /sigh

kwick · 04/04/2017 08:00

Congratulations @Mrsbluebell17 !!!! StarStarStar

Pyjamas81 · 04/04/2017 08:13

Ugh, sorry about spotting skipper - I hope AF stays away, but I can understand why you're preparing yourself.

I had a much better night's sleep last night, DH was up really early though so I know he's got stuff on his mind. I'm glad I'll at least be able to function today at work though. I emailed the clinic last night to ask for an appointment for when next AF is due and I also asked them about their counselling service - feels good to at least be doing something.

Good luck with the EOD approach binky!

Mrsbluebell17 · 04/04/2017 08:17

Thanks everyone. Tentatively excited!!

Pyjamas -glad you're taking some steps to move forward with your thoughts. I think taking control is always a thing that makes you feel better - well I find that personally.
Thinking of you.

KerryLeanne84 · 04/04/2017 09:04

Sad Oh ladies! I don't think I've ever felt this crappy. Got my period this morning 12 days after the iui. The timing with holidays now means that we can't have another one till June.

Flashinthepan · 04/04/2017 09:13

So sorry to hear AF came Kerry and absolutely shit that you have to wait until June. Flowers. It's no consolation at all but try packing everything you can into the next couple of months that you won't be able to do when pregnant and hopefully it will make the time pass quicker.

Skipper sorry about the spotting, hope it's not AF but Brew Cake if it is.

FX you caught a nice juicy egg Binky!

HS last night, which I think was O-1. So HS O-4 and O-1, hopefully again tonight/until EWCM disappears.

Chlo22 · 04/04/2017 09:22

Great that you're taking steps to move forward pyjamas. Hopefully it should help him to vent his frustration and all the emotions that he's bottling up.
Can I ask what you think about my consultant not recommending clomid? I've had several people keep saying to me about using it but she's said if you ovulate regularly and cycles are regular, it can have adverse effect? You ladies seem to know more than what most doctors do!
Sorry to hear that kerry and hugs to everyone who had AF turn up in town.
This might make you laugh.. I kept looking at posts on a variety of boards and started thinking god that Tia gets around doesn't she lol didn't click for ages that it meant thanks in advance! Doh!

sk1pper · 04/04/2017 10:39

Kerry - so, so sorry hunni xx holiday is something to look forward to though and at least you can eat and drink whatever you want without feeling bad. I know that won't make you feel any better but I think it's up to us to highlight the positives...however small they might be. Hope you are okay
