Thread 27. TTC #1 - we're stressed, we're fed up, we're bitter but I promise this will all be worth it when we're holding our precious babies

Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

Here's our Grad's Thread. May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Key:
HS - have/had sex
GOS - good old shag
ELH - enthusiastic lavatory happenings
LSFX - legs spread, fingers crossed

Thanks for the list jam. I meant to test today based on my longest cycles but totally chickened out. No AF but as she could arrive today I decided to give her the chance before peeing on anything. Although I think I'm DPO 14 which is a miracle, B50 complex is doing its job!

I agree, I think the NHS is under so much pressure that funding IVF will be a thing of the past. Now some CCGs are cutting it, others will definitely follow. I'm surprised about Clomid though! Is so unfair on the people who don't have the option of private funding.

pug that weight loss is definitely doable. Sounds like you've done an ace job already, just keep it up! Appointment sounds really positive 👍🏼

Pugmummy87 · 29/03/2017 09:18

Thanks ladies.

I was surprised about clomid too! I was under the impression that it was more intensive fertility treatment such as IVF/IUI that would be cut. I'm a NHS worker myself so I understand the need to save money, but it seems desperately unfair that couples suffering from fertility may not be entitled to any help on the NHS. Infertility is a recognised medical condition and the effects it can have on mental health is well documented. So unfair on those who can't afford to self fund.

If IVF does turn out to be our only option, I think we would have to seriously think about our options. Best get saving in case!

Thinking about maybe getting a personal trainer....

I think I may be in the tww. Temps have suddenly increased over last 3 days. We had a gos on Saturday so hopefully may have a chance. Just waiting for it to be confirmed.

Flashinthepan · 29/03/2017 10:27

Thanks Jam. CD 7 here. Can you put me down for 17th April please?
Trying EOD this cycle, starting today, and hopefully ED when I have EWCM.

Oh Macs are you using the B50 too?! I had a 14 day LP last cycle. fingers crossed it continues. Had another longer AF this time, 5/6 days, instead of previous 3-4.

FX for you pug. Have you considered joining the weight loss chat boards for an extra boost of support? I'm on a couple of threads over there at the moment and finding it helpful.

Alexia I am so grateful you recommended it! Do I just take it forever? Should I continue to take it if I get a bfp?

Musicgrrl · 29/03/2017 10:51

Hi guys! Hope you are all doing well.

I'll do a better read through later but I'm just jumping on to say to flash about b50 supplements - I got my BFP the first cycle I started taking them. It was also the first cycle that we used preseed so I don't know whether one or either of those helped but I was trying to extend my 9 day LP. However because I am super paranoid I then didn't want to stop taking it after my BFP in case it caused any problems so I have been taking it every day and am now 20 weeks. I looked into it and apparently b vits are recommended to help with morning sickness so they are perfectly fine to take when pregnant Smile

miwelaisjacydo · 29/03/2017 13:09

Am so very down. I think I am guna have time of the month within the next couple of days. A few days ago I felt pregnant I can't describe it but without testing I knew I was now I think I am not. I know I sound nuts.

I am so very fed up with trying for a baby it makes me so snappy and angry. I feel like somehow am being punished because why else would I not be pregnant. Why is the whole world pregnant when I am not.

It's my birthday next week I will be 28. I feel now as if I have achieved nothing in my life. I hate almost everything about myself.

macsworth · 29/03/2017 13:12

Yes flash using the B50 from Holland and Barrett. Was previously using B100 but they were massive, weirdly, I didn't see such a change in my LP as I have using B50. I've had one cycle where it was 9 days so 14 is amazing. Glad it's worked for you too.

Thanks for the advice music I was wondering what to do if I got a BFP so good to know to just carry on with it!

kavanaughkj · 29/03/2017 13:18

Try not to get too down, Miw. 28 is no age - I hadn't met my DH by that age or even moved out, and got my BFP only a month or so before I hit my 38th birthday. A lot can change in a short period of time. TTCing does grind you down and I felt similarly (except I was also beating myself up for waiting too long to start trying). Ironically it was the one month when I was sure nothing had happened that my BFP came - one month longer and I'd have been looking into IVF.

Are you doing anything special for your birthday? You should treat yourself, help head off the blues if you can.

macsworth · 29/03/2017 13:38

Sorry miw cross posted. Sorry that you're feeling so down. This whole thing is so hard on our emotions. If AF still hasn't arrive I think you should test. Otherwise you're torturing yourself without the real answers. I think we can always convince ourselves one way or another but there is only one way to know.

Also make sure you have some nice birthday plans. And look after yourself 💐

Chlo22 · 29/03/2017 14:13

Hey ladies,
What do you recommend b50 for? I'm not being lazy and not googling, just always read so much crap and conflicting advice, I prefer asking on here :)

glitteryvibes · 29/03/2017 14:51

put me down for 11 april please jam

chlo lengthening lp and possibly in some seems to lengthen af as well so suggests maybe increased lining. i think the holland and barrert one is good as it has like 50mg of b6 in which is what seems to be recommended for increasing lp but it is absorbed better when included with all the other b vits. it also has the correct about of folic acid in so i think the only additional thing you need to take is vit d. i think there was a japanese(?) study that found people with higher levels of b6 seemed to have much increased chances of conception each cycle than those with lower levels (even though those levels wernt actually considered deficient).

fx for you mac do you think you will test tomorrow then?

sorry your feeling so down miw are you planning on testing on the weekend if no af still?

Flashinthepan · 29/03/2017 14:52

Thanks Music! FX bfps are on there way for all of us. And good to know the B vits are safe throughout. Hope pregnancy is treating you well!

Chlo I started taking it on Alexia's recommendation as I had 10-14 days of spotting post OV after my ectopic. It went on for about 10 months, I tried acupunture everything, nothing helped. I also realised I only had an 8-9 day LP. First cycle of taking B50 had 1 day of spotting and a 14 day LP! Now on second cycle of taking it and keeping FX the magic continues.

Miw sorry to hear you are feeling so down. How long have you been trying?

KerryLeanne84 · 29/03/2017 15:22

Thank you Jam for the updated list! I'm due 6 April too so same day as Alexia and Mrs Bluebell Eeek!

I'm finding this to be the most intensive tww ever after my IUI last thursday. I'm now 6dpiui and have had so many symptoms. Not sure if they're in my head because I want it so much, or just the side effects of the hcg shot (the same thing that causes actual pregnancy symptoms). Trying not to go too mental!

WingingIt83 · 29/03/2017 15:55

17th April please jam

Another on b50 here! Although only restarted last cycle after a break. I'm only taking it in tww though

sk1pper · 29/03/2017 17:11

Thanks for list Jam - realised I completely let this slip when I went AWOL that time.

macsworth · 29/03/2017 17:17

This cycle I've been taking the B50 the whole way through. Before I was only taking it in TWW. There's quite a few of us on this thread that have found it useful but it depends how long your LP is chlo as to whether it's worth a try.

glittery I don't know if I'll test tomorrow. I have developed this weird fear of testing. My sis is coming to stay at the weekend so I'll need to know by then because we would normally drink together. I might test Friday, then I'll be confident I'm late and not having a long cycle because of the B50.

kerry got FX for you. HCG shot must make symptom spotting so much harder. Did you get symptoms straight away?

KerryLeanne84 · 29/03/2017 18:23

Thanks Mac! It was a day or two after that I started getting lots of cramping and pain in both ovaries, but probably because of the big follicles and there being ones on both sides which isn't usual.

I'm taking the b50 too! H&B must be wondering why their sales are so high!

Chlo22 · 29/03/2017 18:26

Ha ha h&b must be raking it in these days with the amount of supplements we all take. I think my lp was all ok before but will have to see how my cycles are after I get my first af.

I had some of results back from rm tests and so far nothing's showed up. They forgot to send 2 off though so had to go back to get those redone. Grrr. I almost want something to show up so we can address it but at same time don't want to wish anything upon myself.

Hope everyone's doing ok. X

Londonjam · 29/03/2017 18:33

I've added those dates ✅

Miw sorry you are feeling so low. I know how you feel. I cried on the bus AND tube today! Good combo. It's the hormones for me that just finish me off. Where in your cycle are you?

Kerry that sounds intense!

That's frustrating chlo although so far so good

AlexiaB · 29/03/2017 19:55

Hi girls, just a quick one as I'm at my parent's until Friday (arrived Tues morning). The distraction is really helping me get through this first week of the tww! Loads of good food, shopping and mum hugs.

Flash I'm so glad it's worked for you, long may it continue. Fx for you! Thanks for chipping in with your advice/experience Music. So happy your scan went well today and massive congrats on your baby girl. That's my absolute dream, so amazing!

Lol Kerry I thought that too about H&B. It's definitely the HCG shot making things harder, keep hanging in there lovely!

Jam sorry you're feeling so emotional lately Flowers Big hugs. This is not easy. Good luck with the house move hon.

Sorry miw Flowers I can sadly relate to a lot of what you said. I even read it to my mum to let her know I'm not the only one. I'd do a test to stop the mental torture.

Sorry to those I've missed. Lots of love to you all xxx

Ugh, another crazy week at work. So tired and think I'm coming down with a cold. We've managed to have sex once so far in FW and I think that might be it for us, at least we've given it a shot.

Miw, so sorry to hear you're feeling so low. Sending you lots of love Flowers

AlexiaB · 30/03/2017 00:32

Late night catch up...

Congrats on booking your honeymoon skipper - that will be incredible! You've got lots of lovely things to look forward to. Hope the tww is going alright for you.

Pug that's rubbish about your ccg/ivf but I really don't think you will need it. It's just a case of regulating ovulation to give you the best chance at conceiving again. Glad your consultant is being proactive though, scan and HSG is great news! Re. weightloss I've found the MyFitnessPal app really useful and have lost a stone using it. It's great for tracking calories and really makes you think about your choices!

In the meantime if you really can't wait for Clomid to be prescribed and you don't want to waste those key months after your HSG, you could order Clomid from the Oxford Online Pharmacy. It's all proper stuff.

Kath hope you feel better after a good night's sleep Flowers

Frustrating about your tests Chlo. I hope the rest come back okay.

SmittenPears · 30/03/2017 04:01

Thanks for the list jam! I might as well hang out with no date for now; my cycles have been so variable, I don't think I'll know a date until / if I ovulated. Confused

FX all around!

SmittenPears · 30/03/2017 04:02

*ovulate

Pyjamas81 · 30/03/2017 07:11

Thanks for the list jam! Seems like our cycles have synced skipper 🙂 How is your TWW going?

Interesting info re b50 - will keep it in mind if my lp starts to play up! I'm already rattling around with the pregnacare, ubiquinol and flaxseed oil (for omega 3 as I'm vegetarian)

CD23 and still symptomless other than the odd twinge, but I always get those! Went for after work drinks last night and restricted myself to half a Guinness then moved on to lime and soda 👍🏼

sk1pper · 30/03/2017 07:20

Pyjamas - we have indeed ☺️ TWW same as last cycle, completely chilled and symptomless apart from some mild nausea but I get that from time to time after ovulation. What about you?

Any one else got any interesting symptoms?
