Thread 27. TTC #1 - we're stressed, we're fed up, we're bitter but I promise this will all be worth it when we're holding our precious babies

Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

Here's our Grad's Thread. May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Key:
HS - have/had sex
GOS - good old shag
ELH - enthusiastic lavatory happenings
LSFX - legs spread, fingers crossed

Love the PMA Hep! Despite obsessing over symtoms, I did feel pretty happy all month so will join you in continuing PMA. Giving up OPKs/temps was key for me to be able to feel good about it all.

Flashinthepan · 21/03/2017 12:10

symptoms

MissyJones80s · 21/03/2017 12:37

Still just light spotting here in and off

MissyJones80s · 21/03/2017 12:37

On and off not in!

Queen0ffaff · 21/03/2017 12:39

Hi ladies,

Bit late to this party, but wondering if I can join you all here? HS/GOS and not a BD (of either variety) in sight on the intro list caught my eye!

I was around these boards a bit last summer, but found I very quickly went bat-shit mental, full on loop-the-loop, as did my cycles got a little bit stressed out with the whole ttc game in the earlier days, so I eased up on focusing on it all for a bit (dropped the temping and OPKs, too), which was a good move for me. We then had a couple of months of enforced break at the end of the year for unrelated medical reasons, which was pretty frustrating, but actually not a bad thing in some ways...

So, depending whether you count those missed months or not (I do, DH doesn't!), I am:

ttc#1
35, nearly 36 Shock
cycle 11 (or 9)

Currently 13 dpo, AF (is there an alternative for that one? - so twee!) expected on Thursday. Can feel all the usual signs of it brewing, but still can't completely quash the symptom spotting - I try to be quite strict with myself these days, but you can't really quiet it right down, can you? There always seems to be something new each month!

Anyway, sorry for derailing the thread a little with my intro... Hope everyone's day is going well / better than expected Smile

Tonks87 · 21/03/2017 12:43

Winging it could have been a coincidence but I actually tried reflexology (combined with acupuncture) for the first time the cycle I got my BFP. She also gave me some self stimulation to do on my ankles a few times a day between AF and ovulation which was meant to stimulate the ovaries. I've never felt ovulation before but that cycle I got really bad lower back pain on my right side the same day I ovulated so I'm thinking it must have been a big juice egg!

I'm sorry to those who AF got recently Flowers

Londonjam · 21/03/2017 12:44

Hugs wine and chocolate for everyone with AF. Wishing you all better luck next cycle.

Kerry sounds like you are making great progress, hope the procedure goes well tomorrow

Quiet yes the way they put it isn't great! Poor sperm have a job on their hands

Macs that must be really tough. My best mate is about to start trying and whilst I hope she conceives quickly and easily I know it will hurt a bit that we are here a year and a half later with nothing. It really goes test your compassion, patience, and ability to succumb to painful envy.

Someone asked about pressed. I've been using it and conceive plus on and off for a while. I quite like it as it makes a quicky easier - but yes it can be a bit of a mood killer. DH also says he doesn't like me using too much. You need some friction!

Having a lovely time on DHs trip and HS throughout FW with positive OPK on Saturday. We've done what we can, for the millionth time so it's into the TWW again for me. No expectations - which is actually quite nice.

My lovely friend who miscarried recently at 30 weeks after TTC for 4 years messaged me today to say that she had had another uterus rupture whilst on holiday and had to fly home for emergency surgery and a full hysterectomy. I'm so devastated for her. She was so close to having their little boy, it's heartbreaking.

It makes me feel grateful for what I do have and whilst we have been trying a long time it's by far not the worst thing that can happen to someone.

Flashinthepan · 21/03/2017 12:55

Welcome Queen! Yeah we outlawed BDing of any kind a little while ago!

Jam what an absolutely horrendous thing for your friend to go through. I cannot imagine reaching that point and then not only losing your baby but also the chance of carrying a child again. So sad.

Flashinthepan · 21/03/2017 12:55

FX for you Missy!

HepKestrel · 21/03/2017 13:47

btw if anyone wants some ahem distractions today, can i recommend the following post: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/2882958-to-think-you-saw-a-lot-more-todger-in-georgian-times?pg=1

perhaps not at work though !

AlexiaB · 21/03/2017 16:08

macs I think it's totally understandable to have those feelings Flowers It is "painful envy" as Jam said so well. Luckily you won't have to see baby much and I really hope you'll be growing your own little one very soon!

I'm so sorry to everyone who got AF FlowersCake What an absolute bitch she is!! Better luck next cycle girls xx

Jam that's absolutely awful about your friend. That poor poor girl and her DH Sad What is she going to do now? Is surrogacy an option? Adoption? It's so cruel and unfair. Glad you're enjoying your time away with DH and well done for nailing FW as always Star

Juicy follicles sound great Kerry. I'm surprised you aren't doing a trigger but really hope more than one egg pops! More eggs = more chances. Good luck!

Welcome Queen Smile Are you going to test or just wait it out?

Sorry I haven't been around much. Trying to not think about ttc as much. I only started temping today on CD12 which has been a nice break. 36.07 (pre-O) which is good because we've totally failed at HS the last few nights, TV and sleep sounded so much better! Need to get started tonight.

Hope everyone is as well as can be expected on this ttc slog. Love to all Flowers

She's been texting me quite a bit today and is incredibly strong and positive. She's an absolute inspiration to be honest. She's got an embryo in the freezer and they are going to try and get some more eggs collected and fertilised in vitro, as they left her ovaries intact. They are going to investigate surrogacy and adoption. It made me think about whether I would ever offer to be a surrogate mum for another woman. A really incredible thing to do I think.

She said they conceived once on clomid but miscarried, then conceived on their first IVF cycle and made it to 30 weeks when her uterus ruptured and he was stillborn. They got to spend some time with him and take pictures etc.

It's heartbreaking but it's incredible to hear them so strong and looking forwards. She says she knows it will happen for them, one way or another. I have no doubt that it will - with her strength and determination.

AlexiaB · 21/03/2017 18:10

Wow what a positive and inspiring woman. I truly hope they find a surrogate and have a baby of their own (or twins!). They deserve it so much after their hideous journey so far. Agree re. surrogate, it takes a special kind of person to do that for someone. Not sure I could, well not now anyway.

Thanks for the welcomes Smile

Your friend sounds like an amazing and strong lady, Jam. Their story certainly puts things in perspective. I really hope things work out for them soon.

Yes, I decided no testing this month unless I am actually late, so I'll just wait it out now - first month I've actually managed that! Definitely has made it a little easier.

Talk Conception
Confused and dnt no where to go im ttc after implanon1
Today 17:50 Abbieben123

Hi all.1st time ever posting and looking for some advice and opinions.came off implanon to ttc and had a period after a few days on the 2nd of march and a positive ovulation test a week past on the Saturday just there, so we have dtd lots lol and now since last night i thought i had an implantation bleed (due period on the 30th) its was very pinky and light but now this evening its heavier and darker red so im guessing its a period. I have slight cramp but nothing major and ive never cramped b4.so now im faced with 2 periods in 18 days and now not knowing when i ovulate or what my cycle is and i was sure id managed get it right but i no its probs way to quick 😢😢 so now i need to start again from today and test for ovulation i guess ? (Had 5 implants and 3 pregnancys 1 was a mc and all times i conceived in weeks after implant removal) so to cap it off i was hoping it was implantation bleed but now but so sure thanks guys xxxxx

AlexiaB · 21/03/2017 19:46

Abbie this is a TTC #1 thread. I'm sure there are others much better suited to your needs. I must say you are lucky to have conceived very quickly 3 times after having the implant removed (although I'm sorry about your mc). The bleeding could be implantation bleeding but it does sound more like your period starting. You'll just have to wait it out and then try again next month. It's still early days and I'm sure you'll have another bfp soon.

AlexiaB · 21/03/2017 19:57

No need to be sorry, it's just we're all trying VERY hard to conceive our first baby and some of us have been here for years. So we like to keep it just for those TTC #1. No offence intended. Good luck x

Pyjamas81 · 21/03/2017 20:58

Wow jam - your friend sounds so amazingly strong. What an inspiration.

Good to see you alexia - I know what you mean about tv and sleep feeling like more appealing options, we're in the same boat here! We've HS EOD since CD5 and am now on CD14 - we're shattered! Pretty sure I must have ov'd by now, but we'll go again on Weds and probably not but we'll try on Friday just for luck. Then we'll go for twice a week to keep DH on track. Oh the romance... I was talking to my friend today about it all and she asked whether we still 'connect' when HS - had to admit that I checked out a long time ago. Nothing like functional sex to kill any inclination that may have been there! I mainly just find the whole thing very tedious now.

Hello queen - I turned 36 on Friday! Hated it at the time but am over it now.

I wish I could get on with yoga flash - I just can't wait for it to be over when I do it!

Flashinthepan · 21/03/2017 21:32

Haha pyjamas I felt like that when I went to a yoga class a few years ago, but tried a different one now and love it! The exercises are always very varied and I enjoy having to think about what I'm doing as it takes my mind off everything else. But of course it's not for everyone!

I'm pissed of as spotting has stopped again! Just want bloody af to start so I can get on with my new cycle. I'm just impatient having had a 9 day LP to now be on 13 dpo. Which I should of course be grateful for and am! Had a cadburys caramel Easter egg today, forgot how amazing they are!

MissyJones80s · 22/03/2017 06:45

flash I'm in same boat as you spotting seems to have now stopped again pleased it means my lp is also longer but meh
