Thread 27. TTC #1 - we're stressed, we're fed up, we're bitter but I promise this will all be worth it when we're holding our precious babies

Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

Here's our Grad's Thread. May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Key:
HS - have/had sex
GOS - good old shag
ELH - enthusiastic lavatory happenings
LSFX - legs spread, fingers crossed

Please tell me no as I know I'm imagining it but can anyone see anything on these. I think it's just a shadow. Image and then same image inverted.

jam bloody brilliant news about the SA results. I'm so happy for you. If you still need to go down the treatment route then you might be able to try IUI first. Enjoy Cape Town

flash sorry about BFN. Keeping FX that you're just a bit early. If she's not here then there's still hope.

miranda and harriet congratulations. We desperately needed some BFPs on this thread. Here's to healthy and uneventful 9 months.

missy I'm so sorry you're having a hard time. You won't have messed anything up, stress and anxiety can sometimes affect ovulation but not always and not implantation. As kerry said people can still conceive and have successful pregnancies in the most stressful situations. Just make sure you're looking after yourself. 💐

Glad you had a good birthday pyjamas. You sound like you're in a good place again now.

I'm currently plodding through the TWW. Trying cayenne pepper daily for the first time. kwick I tried it on a spoonful of yoghurt...it's nearly blew my head off...how do you manage it?! (And how's your leg?)

It feels like this thread is brightening a bit after having a pretty hard time. I hope this is a sign of things to come for everyone.

geeup · 19/03/2017 10:23

Hi flash I can definitely see something. I'd say wait and test again in 48 hours. Good luck!
Hopeful - I wanted to suggest if you do want a CB digital monitor you can buy second hand on eBay for much cheaper. Sounds gross but the wee never actually touches the monitor so totally hygienic and you can always go to town with antibacterial wipes anyway! I bought (and sold) mine on eBay at the beginning of my ttc journey. Good luck to you too!

macsworth · 19/03/2017 10:24

Sorry flash, cross post. I can just about see something, it's a bit shadowy. Go and get yourself a FRER immediately!!

Flashinthepan · 19/03/2017 10:27

missy I have been suffering with anxiety/panic attacks although I seem to be getting to the end of the tunnel so to speak. But when I feel panicked there's a technique called grounding, you probably know already, but the idea is you say out loud 5 things you can see, 4 you can hear, three you can touch, two you can smell and 1 you can taste. And it helps bring you back to the moment and can just keep repeating until you feel better or reach a place you.feel safe. It really helps me.

miwelaisjacydo · 19/03/2017 14:50

Flash I can see something but could be a shadow. Do another.

Thanks everyone for the welcome back. This time round I am not testing at all.

Londonjam · 19/03/2017 14:52

Hopeful I'll add you on no problem. Good idea to get used to the advanced CB in the meantime - you'll be all ready after your op

Flash I can see something! The nausea is promising too, fx for a stronger line on a FRER

Never heard of grounding technique before I will try that 👍🏼

MissyJones80s · 19/03/2017 15:13

flash are you doing a FRER?

I have heard of grounding but never given it a go, will try it out.

Got the in laws coming round for dinner, they are lovely but the frame of mind I'm in today id rather be curled up with a book or film ah well

Flashinthepan · 19/03/2017 15:33

I will do a frer in the morning. Will be 12 dpo then I think. Been feeling sick on and off all day but not I'll if you see what I mean. So thIs is either the worst lead up to af ever or I'm upduffed. Although even if af comes I will have achieved at least an 11 day LP so b50 works!

miwelaisjacydo · 19/03/2017 17:25

So had weekend away with DH. It was lovely we did an escape room which was fab. I surprised him by being logical! Erm in the 11 years you have known me you haven't noticed I am quite a deep thinker and quite logical. 😳

After miscarriage I kind of started to free fall. I was sad all the time. I have since with the help of loved ones put myself back together.

Had one wobble a couple of weeks ago when a friend said his OH was pregnant. Am pleased for them honest but i did have a cry.

How is everyone who did I miss who is now a grad?

miwelaisjacydo · 19/03/2017 17:33

Oh and dr said I can have tests of I want but needed time to heal before contemplating tests.

WingingIt83 · 19/03/2017 17:44

Congratulations harriet !
Fingers crossed for a stronger line tomorrow flash

We'll I've made it to cd28 this time so cycles seem back to normal again after last months 24day-er . Not sure I should bother to test as absolutely no symptoms, not even remotely sore boobs!

Pyjamas81 · 19/03/2017 20:46

Flash I can see something too! Really hope you get a good result on a frer 😀

Glad you had a good weekend away with DH miw. It's mine and DH's first wedding anniversary next month and we're going away, can't wait. Also falls right in FW which is handy!

Thanks for the list jam 😁

Spent today at MILs house - they're lovely and live in the countryside, was great to get out of the Big Smoke for a while.

I seem to have developed a really annoying ov symptom - I get eczema/dermatitis type patches on my face (mainly around my eyes and cheekbones). Makes putting on make up a nightmare (and I never leave the house without make up). I thought it was the cold weather before, but it's now always around when I ov and doesn't clear up until AF. I googled it (of course) and apparently some women react to increased levels of progesterone during cycles. Apparently taking an antihistamine helps, but am not sure whether it's safe during ttc. Has anyone else had this?

WingingIt83 · 19/03/2017 21:06

I have all over eczema and it is just trial and error on finding what works. I sympathise completely, having it on your face is so annoying Sad

I have read that you shouldn't take antihistamines during fw as they can depress ewcm.

Pyjamas81 · 19/03/2017 21:09

Yeah I've suffered from eczema on and off since I was a kid winging - so annoying.

I don't get ewcm (or hardly any) anyway so we rely on preseed. Don't think I'm going to risk it though.

MissyJones80s · 19/03/2017 21:14

Fx flash and even if the witch turns up, 11 day lp is great! hoping she keeps away though!

miw great you have such a supportive network and that you are coming through such a horrid time now. I'd love to do an escape room. Sounds like you've had a fun weekend.

winging oh the magic 28, that used to be me so very jealous of that number well done you! Oh and did you know no symptoms was actually a symptom lol

pyjamas ooh anniversary trip and a well planned one cycle wise as well fx for that! I don't get eczema post ov but I have noticed I feel like I have loads of trapped air inside my stomach it doesn't actually come out (lol) any more than usual just inside and googling that suggested progesterone as well. It's crazy what hormones can do right!

Mrsbluebell17 · 19/03/2017 22:16

Just wanted to drop by to say congrats to Harriet and Miranda. And tentative (crosses fingers) congrats to flash.

Missy I also suffer with anxiety - I know how hard it is when you just can't get that thought (that you know is totally ridiculous and unreasonable) out of your mind. Mine affects me more at night and that's why I listen to audio books with wireless headphones when going to sleep, to keep my mind on a topic! Happy to chat if you want to. Hope you're feeling ok today.

Pyjamas - I take antihistamine really often - argh, hadn't even thought they could be harmful!!! 😬

Flashinthepan · 19/03/2017 22:57

Thanks ladies. Still trying to stay cynical/realistic. Should I test tomorrow morning at 12 DPO or wait til 13/14 Dpo, assuming no af by then?

MissyJones80s · 19/03/2017 23:01

Thanks bluebell. I'm on the audio books too at the moment helps to distract the mind. It seems so many people have to go through this. Feeling okay today thanks hope it improves as the week goes on.

Didn't realise about antihistamine

QuietTime · 19/03/2017 23:14

pyjamas I think I've noticed this since last autumn too! thought it was some late pollen reaction (Hmm) but then reappeared pretty much a month later (and the next)...doesn't seem to be as bad since, but had painfully itchy eyes and couldn't think what else could trigger it. Did take antihistamines which helped, but was before TTC - should be able to check with pharmacist when buying though? I have dry/dehydrated skin at times anyway and use REN cleanser for flare-ups which seems to help (think it's called Evercalm).

flash No sage advice on testing, sorry - guess would try to hold off if faint today, but am no expert - but have all my fingers crossed! xx

Pyjamas81 · 19/03/2017 23:30

Screw it, I've taken an antihistamine, I'm sure it's fine! Thanks for the cleanser tip quiet!

harrietm87 · 20/03/2017 03:09

Hi all just wanted to thank everyone for the good wishes. It's still so early days and I'm extra paranoid because of my two losses, but I did my second FRER this morning and got a good line. I'll be away for next two weeks still so if I make it home still pregnant I'll be delighted. Will keep checking in on this thread. flash it's better to hold out but if I were you I could not wait! Good luck!!!

QuietTime · 20/03/2017 06:05

Yaaay, Harriet! Have a great time away (am assuming holiday? Sorry, have forgotten now) and hope all stays well

Pyjamas81 · 20/03/2017 07:23

Woooooooo Harriet!! Congratulations!!

kwick · 20/03/2017 07:59

jam (by the way are you an actual
Jam maker? Hmm) I had carrier analysis done as well as a test for thrombylia (or something of the like).
Enjoy Cape Town!!!

kerry I much prefer tummy than thighs for 💉 but that is because I had to do intramuscular ones in my thigh and the needle is BIG!!! My tummy is very well covered so there is lots of cushioning Grin

macs I do admit it is like taking a poison but I follow it with loads of water and at least then it is out of the way.
I went to Bletchley Park on Saturday and rather over did it... my leg is now bruised and whilst it can bear more weight it is sore. I am traveling to Brussels tomorrow... God knows how that will work out! I decided to work from home again today but am having difficulty getting started...

miw it does get better, I promise you. i have come ever such a long way in just a couple of weeks. Beginning to hope again.

That is great news harriet StarStarStar

flash not sure if you have decided to wait although for my sanity hope you have broken out a FRER this morning!
