Welcome to our third thread on PCOS. What we don't know isn't really worth knowing. We're a friendly bunch of women who have a few things in common. We all have either PCOS or unexplained infertility and we're all on a mission for a BFP!!!!

For new members, and old alike here are the links to our 1st and 2nd threads:

Now without further ado, let's continue on our journey.......

Interesting. Did your clinic tell you that clomid wouldn't work off the back of the miscarriage? My current round of clomid is following straight on from my early miscarriage and it seems to be working so far (at least there were follicles on the scan).

Nutcracker20167 · 01/12/2016 14:24

Hi all ladies, just catching up.

Amy, sorry to read you didn't have a great week. I've still got my fingers crossed for you. It's good to let your emotions out, never ever suck it up.

My info for you all
Nutcracker
30
TTC #1 Since August 2015 (although in reality I wasn't ovulating so haven't really been trying for very long at all)
Diagnosis: PCOS - went down the private route
Treatment: First round of clomid, scan showed a nice big follicle and got 2 days of positive tests
Next Milestone: Waiting game
Location: Surrey

The funny thing is, I had my private diagnosis of pcos, first round of clomid and scans, all in the space of time I had to wait for my initial "fertility" consultation with the NHS (4 month wait). I went just for the sake of it this week, I couldn't stop thinking how let down I felt, that I would not have even been diagnosed with pcos yet if I'd just relied on the NHS.

For anyone concerned about the cost of private, all in all it's cost me £300 for a well woman screen which included the internal scan to diagnose my pcos, £7 for clomid and £200 for my first follicle track (although I think even the Harley Street clinics normally charge £100 for this, I just needed mine in a hurry).

I'm very fit, have been carb free for 4 months and lost a stone even though I'm not over weight. I have a very healthy life style.

I hope this post helps any lurkers who think they might have pcos and trying to conceive to not waste time and go get a scan. If I'd known what I know now I would have done this a year ago.

Much love to all of you

YouBoggleMyMind · 01/12/2016 14:45

No, I told them at the follicle scan that I'd had a miscarriage/cp and she didn't really think much of it.

AmyC86 · 02/12/2016 05:42

Really glad that AF has turned up naturally for you boggle if myself have always waited a month or so for AF to arrive rather than pump my body with more hormones.

Feeling a bit better today, had a nice morning Christmas shopping with my DH before going to work. Helped to take my mind off things.

I know that someone mentioned not to worry about my CD21 score as I didn't fully know when it was. Still dreading hearing my repeat 1.2 score from the last two times.

Also, has anyone seen the article on pcos on the front page? Ooh it makes me feel really important 😁

OP posts:
satsooma · 02/12/2016 09:16

Haha! Why does the front page article have a picture of a woman with a hot water bottle? PCOS is mostly the absence of periods!

AmyC86 · 02/12/2016 09:48

Well blood test results are back.... 1.fucking 2 again so although I had a folicale, ive not ovulated 😭😭😭😭😭

Oh no Amy that's crap news! Flowers

Will the clinic try moving you to 150mg?

YouBoggleMyMind · 02/12/2016 10:38

Sorry amy, I know it's not what you wanted to hear. However you're not out until AF shows herself! Sending positive vibes xxx

YouBoggleMyMind · 02/12/2016 11:29

Just booked my last follicle tracking scan for the 14th December... here's to a positive last clomid cycle! Xxx

AmyC86 · 02/12/2016 18:06

It's just absolutely wank! Xx has anyone else ever been in this boat?!?! Good size folicale but it not release? That's just going to turn into yet another cyst on my Overy now.

Does this mean that I would benefit from a trigger shot to force my body into a state of ovulation? I've read online that it's quite standard practice in America. I'm wondering how much it would cost to go private for the trigger shot?!?!?

I am however, living in hope that the most recent blood test hadn't been loaded onto the computer and she read my previous score - it's so disheartening that I've had the same progesterone score 3 fecking times now.

FluffyEwok · 02/12/2016 18:19

AmyFlowers i had to go on 150 to ovulate and my score went from 2 to 100! X

Nutcracker20167 · 02/12/2016 18:25

I've never heard of this trigger shot Amy?

My gynaecologist told me, even though I'm not over weight to lose weight, since this can help kick start your body. Just in case that is useful info for you.

I didn't have bloods with my first round of clomid, do you think I should have done?

FluffyEwok · 02/12/2016 21:17

Hi nutcracker my Doctor told me he doesnt think i have IR and im a size 8. However the stress of this has seen me drop a stone and im trying to eat healthy. Today i ate white carbs and i feel crap

YouBoggleMyMind · 02/12/2016 22:51

amy, don't give up, you may have ovulated later than you thought and it actually isn't accurate. You're not out yet. I have everything crossed for you.

Next step for me would be injectables and a trigger shot to force ovulation, not sure if they give it with clomid or not. What would be the next step for you?

AmyC86 · 03/12/2016 09:22

More clomid boggle cycle 4 it'll be. .... Although I need to ring the doctor up because the prescription I was given last time didn't stipulate how many cycles worthe to dispense so they could only give me 1 cycles worth Hmm

FluffyEwok · 03/12/2016 12:36

How is everyone? Hope youre ok amy its hard to stay positive isnt it?
Im on day 9 so going to start dtd.Grin

FluffyEwok · 03/12/2016 20:54

I feel so sad today im close to just giving up and telling people im infertile i just cant hack the treatment it makes me hysterical and its not going to work anyway. I just dont see the point in life

Elly1685 · 03/12/2016 22:18

Evening ladies, had a letter from the doctors today about my ultrasound, it said 'ultrasound scan is essentially normal although does show some small cysts in both ovaries which could be suggestive of pcos' which is what I assumed anyway. Glad the results and the letter came so quickly. Just waiting for referral for gyno now.

Fluffy, how long have you been ttc? You are bound to feel like that from time to time. Maybe you need a break from treatment? Take your mind off things and start again in a few months (easier said than done in sure) but it may be what you and your body need? Xxx Flowers

DailyMailSucksAss · 03/12/2016 22:19

Am on clomid and metformin. Day 23. Getting crippling constipation and lower tummy pain to the point where even a light touch to my sides hurts. Is this a cyst? I have no cyst pcos

FluffyEwok · 03/12/2016 22:21

For 14 months. Ive just had a break so cant really take another. Im going to be too old for all this soon

DailyMailSucksAss · 03/12/2016 22:21

Pain is both sides. Pain meds don't work.

FluffyEwok · 03/12/2016 22:23

It may be hyperstimulation. Phone youre unit for advice

Elly1685 · 03/12/2016 22:29

How old are you fluffy? ( you don't have to answer ..;)) I bet it feels like a lifetime but 14 months really isn't that long in the grand scheme of things. My friend was trying for 2years and was taking all the usual meds to help and just as she was about to go on the ivf list she got her BFP. I don't know if that story would make you feel any better, but it gives me some hope anyway. Keep at it and try to keep your head up. I haven't been trying that long so it's probably easy for me to say all this 🤔... but I hope it helps you, even just a little. Flowers

Sorry daily - I don't know what could be causing the pain :/. Hope the pain subsides ..!

FluffyEwok · 03/12/2016 22:34

Im 30
