Having got pregnant by accident at 18 I just assumed as soon as I came off the pill it would happen instantly! Now 30 days off it, BFNs every day, no AF, impatient!

littleemma1 · 25/01/2017 08:21

I'm taking Angus Cactus, starflower oil with primrose oil (they're a nightmare to take, like bloody golf balls!) and vitamin B complex. After some lengthy research this mixture of vitamins (or whatever you would call that sort of concoction!) are meant to be the best in helping you regulate :) x

KittyKat73 · 25/01/2017 11:15

littleemma i wish i knew about angus cactus! i would have started taking it back in june, currently CD55 ill be putting up missing posters soon for AF haha!

purplek1tty · 25/01/2017 13:26

AF arrived today, slightly disappointed that perhaps we weren't lucky this month. But as my husband said, this was our first real chance to try after two crazy long cycles where ovulation took us by surprise having got bored waiting!

So
Cycle 1: 160+ days (I stopped counting)
Cycle 2: 60 days
Cycle 3: 39 days (woop!)

So for those of you who have just come of the pill and are waiting for their first real cycle, hopefully you won't have anywhere as extreme time as me, but even if you do they should eventually start to look more normal!

Hang in there!

Has anyone read anything/had any experience of lengthening your Luteal Phase? Mine is 10/11 so I think borderline... I already take agnus castus and vit B.

CatMum87 · 25/01/2017 14:08

Hi purplekitty....sorry to hear AF got you but glad you are taking it as a positive! Hopefully your cycles are well on their way to sorting themselves out :)

My af arrived last week 5-7 days dpo which gives me a super short luteal phase. I always spot quite a bit beforehand. Working with the acupuncturist on ovulating earlier and lengthening after, so not much to do then ha!! But just happy that I have had a period each month, albeit with slightly strange cycles. I have been given 'homework' to do this time so lets see what happens this month.

Apart from the vitex and Vit B6 I've read that high dose Vit C is a natural way of increasing progesterone and lengthening the luteal phase. But perhaps now your cycles are getting more regular this may even out on its own?

I'm not taking anything at the minute......I was going crazy previously taking all sorts but not sure if any of it really helped, think the vitex made me anxious! So now I am just on a multi-vitamin, and will see how the acupuncture goes. Definitely planning on a trip to the doctors next cycle if nothing improves :)

Hope everyone else is well x

MrsGB2015 · 25/01/2017 15:31

Hello Ladies, can I join you please? I stopped taking cerezette 3 weeks ago and there's been nothing... no withdrawal bleed, no AF, no symptoms....NOTHING!
I haven't had a period since I had my DS 2 years ago as I went onto cerezette when he was 2 months old. Even though I know I shouldn't and it's pointless I keep POAS (BFN obviously!). Time goes soooo slowly!

purplek1tty · 25/01/2017 16:23

Welcome Mrs GB. Some people skip the withdrawal bleed and go straight to first period. Fingers crossed you'll be fine.

CatMum. Thanks for the info. Sorry to hear that your LP is giving you a hard time too. The pill has a lot to answer for!!

I would be interested to hear how things go with your acupuncturist. What's your homework?!

I've taken the plunge and ordered myself a Basal Thermometer. I am not the greatest sleeper so I have some reservations about it working for me. But hopefully now I have some light at the end of the tunnel in terms of cycles then I am keen to be in tune with it all!

Anyone got any tips or experiences of temping that might be useful for a newb?

Hello everyone apologies for being quiet I have been basically waiting and twiddling my thumbs but today my OPK seems to be getting darker cd 22!! After saying I wasn't going to use them and just take it easy I'm so glad I have as otherwise would have been poas like a crazy lady and bankrupting myself in the process! I don't think it's quite positive yet but almost. I'll post a pic.

purplekitty sorry for AF but woohoo for shorter cycle!

Welcome mrsG it's so frustrating just waiting not knowing what's going on. I think can ovulate without first having a withdrawal bleed so fingers crossed.

secret OPK def pick up HCG so might be worth testing but don't be disheartened if it's not BFP it's still early days [smile

catmum Sorry AF also got you. I am also worried about short luteal phase and been looking into how to lengthen it. You sound fairly clued up. Hope the acupuncture helps.

Lovechild2016 · 25/01/2017 20:28

Here's the IC OPK

Thread 5 ttc post pill: join us for wacky cycles, far to much poas action and support from some lovely ladies!
littleemma1 · 25/01/2017 21:47

So is it bad having a small luteal phase? I'll keep an eye on mine x

MrsFish13 · 25/01/2017 22:28

Hi ladies
Lovechild woohoo for a positve OPK let the BD commence!!

Littleemma, thanks for the info on what concoction you are taking. I am taking agnus, multi Vits and Folic. I have just ordered a fertility detox to try and improve my light period. I am a little concerned that if I do manage to fall, my super light period will equate to a lack of lining for bean to stick too.

The acupuncture sounds very interesting, I may look into that in a couple of months if no BFP. Also interesred in what the homework is?

Can I ask those who have had AF visit, are they normal or light/heavy flow?

Good lick to us all, fingers x'd for some BFP news soon!!

MrsFish13 · 25/01/2017 22:29

*luck not lick lol

littleemma1 · 25/01/2017 23:16

My AF was so heavy the first day I had to use super+ which I've never had to do before. Day two it was just medium flow and then by day three it had gone to light and by day four had disappeared!
Who knew there was so much to consider in baby making. They make it sound so easy in school lol! X

Seven0fNine · 26/01/2017 16:02

So I am quite excited because I think I just got my first positive opk... Although I wouldn't mind some second opinions because both lines seem faint compared to the other ones I've seen. But all the ones I've taken the control line doesn't seem very dark so maybe it's just the batch?!

Glad this is happening tho as it means Ovia was more or less spot on this month.

Maybe I am ovulating after all!

Lovechild2016 · 26/01/2017 16:31

Seven looks positive to me! As long as the test line is as dark as or darker than the control then that's positive. My OPK test line was even darker this morning def darker than the control so hoping I'll o today/tomorrow. Ovia was also weirdly spot on for me too, I was like Ovulation day 22, no way, but looks like it may well be! Fingers crossed and may the bd commence! X

MrsFish13 · 26/01/2017 20:21

Looks positive to me too Seven :-)

Seven0fNine · 27/01/2017 07:21

Woop, got a shaggeroo in so I'm happy 😊!!

My first two afs were really light Mrsfish

CatMum87 · 27/01/2017 09:03

Morning Ladies

Sorry purplekitty I have no experience of temping even though it's the only accurate way of knowing ovulation has occurred. I've heard that you have to take it first thing, as soon as you wake up, before you even talk and that it needs to be at the same time each day. Would be a real useful tool to have if you can do it properly, good luck :)

MrsFish - my first cycles off the pill when I was taking vitex were really light and sorry if TMI, but dark. Since stopping they have been a bit heavier but only lasting 2-3 days with bright red blood, albeit brown spotting before or after. But my periods were super light when on the pill.

Interest in the fertility cleanse.....can I ask what it is?! There's so many things to think about isnt there!!! Not as simply as lets do the dead and get pregnant!

Ah the homework, the acupuncturist has shown me how to do moxi.....I had never heard of it before but it basically means using heat to stimulate blood flow to the area. I am to do it every day from day 15.....so I'll let you guys know how it goes!!!

purplek1tty · 27/01/2017 10:12

Thanks Catmum - on day 2 of temping, so far so good!

Moxi, Fertility Cleanse - just as you think you've heard of everything Smile

Looking forward to hearing how they go!

Redpony1 · 27/01/2017 10:53

I can't do temping because i get up a couple of times in the night, and every morning i jump up to stop my alarm waking DP!

CD52 post-pill Sad but i did get a positive OPK last night

Seven0fNine · 27/01/2017 14:17

Oooh good red!! We are all ovulating together then clearly our cycles are syncing!! Ha xx

ememem84 · 28/01/2017 10:41

Stumbling back in.

Period was due on Wednesday. So far nothing.

At what point do we consider this to be a reason to poas? Only asking as have had a few 30 day cycles but mostly 26.

Is it reasonable to think if it's not here by Wednesday to poas.

Seven0fNine · 28/01/2017 14:22

Absolutely, if it was me I'd try and leave it as long as possible. Like a week after af due... However, if you were due on Wednesday and are preggers it should show up on a test now..... In theory. I would have well caved by now if I was you! Haha xxx

KittyKat73 · 29/01/2017 18:53

hey ladies!

currently CD59 no sign of AF and a third BFN just to be sure.

hey ememem i would wait until a week after your due at least incase its just a few days late. got my FX for you though :)

catmum ooh never heard of that before let us know how you get on! hope it helps :)
