CatMum Sounds like your cycles are as wacky as mine. My shortest has been 60 days, I'm currently dreaming of a cycle less than 40 days!
Can you share a bit more about the acupuncture you're having? Who, how much and what is involved?

It's something I would consider but don't know much about it in relation to fertility and menstrual cycles. Smile

Redpony1 · 06/01/2017 14:29

31 days off Cerelle for me now, not a sniff of AF!

The first week i had the sore boobs, and lethargy, then 2 weeks after i stopped i had definite EWCM (according to Googling of consistancy etc) but nothing since. I don't like not knowing what is going on at all! Today i downloaded Ovia app and will track symptoms although i do not want to get hung up on symptom spotting etc - this is supposed to be fun and exciting time, not a full time job ha! (might think differently 6months down the line still waiting Grin )

SmittenPears · 06/01/2017 15:48

Hm SevenOfNine -- interesting. I also use Fertility Friend and it was not put off by the 50 days. (I think it's disappointed in me for not temping, though...!) We'll see what Clue does when I get some opk results entered.

I feel so not alone reading these wacky cycle stories!

Thanks for the good wishes... counting down to the FW :)

Supper16 · 06/01/2017 20:21

Hi all,

Cd10 here, my first cycle off pill. Had normal withdrawl bleed then some spotting on CD10 but otherwise fine. I've been hoping to spot some CM today as a sign of impending ovulation but all is bomep

Supper16 · 06/01/2017 20:25

Hi folks,

CD10 here, first cycle off combined pill. Had normal withdrawl bleed then spotting on CD8 but nowt otherwise. Have been hoping to spot some EWCM as a sign of impending ovulation, but bone dry here. Guess it's a bit too much to hope for a perfect 28 day cycle immediately after the pill haha. I must be more patient.

Good luck to all here in the 2ww and those testing.

Seven0fNine · 07/01/2017 15:58

Hey Supper, that's it! If you expect a crazy cycle then if it is 28 days you will be very happy and surprised but not too disappointed if not! Welcome to first month symptom spotting madness.

My opks arrived today and I want to work out if it's looking like I am ovulating... going by last month I noticed a tiny bit of ewcm on day 21 then AF arrived 17 days later on day 38. So I think I'll probably start testing from day 14/15 in case this cycle is going to be shorter (fingers and toes crossed). Do I just do one a day or should I do a morning and afternoon? I can't remember what you did Luci but I seem to remember you being well on the ball with your opks. Am I right in thinking a positive will mean ovulation in the next 48 hours?

SmittenPears · 07/01/2017 17:30

SevenOfNine that's exactly what I did with my long cycle. I tested twice a day, morning and late afternoon, though the opks that I have don't want you to use FMU (anyone know why that is?)

I got a positive (or as close as I seem to get) on CD19, so probably ovulated around CD20. My pregnancy book says 24--36 hours after a positive opk for ovulation.

FX for you (and everyone)!

OnNaturesCourse · 08/01/2017 01:19

hi ladies

how often would you recommend using the ovulation tests?

my strips arrived today but while the clear blue I used previously stated first morning pee, these are stating 12-8 at night. (how does my body know the time lol?) ive also heard/seen somewhere that you can get one result in the am/noon and then something completely different at night?

Shoney85 · 08/01/2017 07:23

I used to do mine about 11am, four hours of no drinking water or going to the toilet. Then would do it again when I got home from work about 6pm again about three four hours without toilet or excessive water

Piehunter · 08/01/2017 09:01

I do opks after 2pm generally, and 2 a day when I think/know ov is near, so one at 4 and one at 10 say as it's easy to miss, the surge only lasts approximately 12 hours! Ovulation can happen 12-48 hours after a positive opk, all depends on your individual body Smile

Purpleviola14 · 08/01/2017 09:22

Hi ladies, and hi to all the newbies 😀

Cat mum I had my first acupuncture session yesterday too. How are you finding it? Totally n the same page as you with having someone who understands! It was great, she looked through all my charts and cycles and went through my health and lifestyle, even hubbys. She even treated me for my sinuses and last night was the first night in about 2 months I've slept without being congested!

Congrats to all the bfps too you lucky ladies, hope you have happy healthy pregnancies x

OnNaturesCourse · 08/01/2017 13:23

shoney, piehunter

Thank you, I'm still trying to work my body out. I have loads of the tests would you say I'm better off doing two? I don't have a set schedule so will find it hard to do at a similar time each day. Also how concentrated does the urine need to be? I have a kidney problem and can't hold on for long because of infection risk plus have to drink ridiculous amounts of water xx

OnNaturesCourse · 08/01/2017 15:49

another negative Envy

CD 17 (unknown length, first off pill)

Been testing since CD 12.

I know it can take a while for my body to kick everything back into working order. But I can't help but be a tiny bit disappointed..

MrsFish13 · 08/01/2017 17:55

Hi all, I have been lurking for a month or so, this is my situation. I have been on cerelle most recently amongst other bc for more than 10 years. I am on the wrong side of 30 (38) abd after years of not wanting more children - despite my desires, husband changed his mind in December and we are on it like a car bonnett!! Last pill was taken begining of December, i thought i had ovulation pain 14th, so with BD'd. I then had what I thought was a implantation bleed on 21st - 2 drops of brownish discharge. anyhow I wasnt preggo and then following D+V boxing day i spotted for 3 days 27-30Dec. Should I class this as my first period???

This week I had EWCM on 1 day only, thursday, but BD most of the week except friday. OH is now working away until wednesday, which is potentially when I should be ovulating if I count 27th as CD1. Or should i go with EwCM and cinsider I may ovulate a few days early - i have OV signs, achy boobs, cramps - although no sharp ones, more a dull ache for a few days.
So I am confused, am I back in cycle nice and quickly or not at all and body is just adjusting still to stopping the pill? thoughts are much appreciated

Shoney85 · 08/01/2017 18:30

MrsFish13 it took me five months after quitting the pill to get a normal period. Inbetween that time I had spotting days. So your body might just been taking its time to get back to normal. The OPK sticks are good as that can help you pin point your ovulation time. Also using an app like Ovia can help too. As well as taking your Basel temperature each morning at the same time. I think some of the ladies here have also taken agnus casta to help get your periods into a more normal cycle. We are or have been all in the same position so here to support and offer advice x

MouseLove · 08/01/2017 18:48

Natures, it sounds like you won't get a positive this cycle if you're drinking loads. You ideally need to drink nothing and not wee for 3-4 hours. Don't worry. I didn't get a positive on my BFP cycle and I DID hold. You can surge anytime. Try not to get upset about it. It's still early days for you. X

OnNaturesCourse · 08/01/2017 18:56

mouse

Thanks. Unfortunately I must keep extra hydrated for my health so I'm guessing it's likely these tests won't really be much benefit? Envy

I'll just need to keep temping... Although that's another pest of it's own making. Averaging 35-35.50 which a tiny random spike a few days ago. I apparently run quite cool.

Sshsecretenclosed · 08/01/2017 19:04

Hi all.
Can I join your thread?
I'm 29 ttc#1 and took my last pill 30/12/16. I'm now already worrying about not ovulating and never regaining my fertility! I feel so panicky,

OnNaturesCourse · 08/01/2017 19:17

Shh welcome to my boat. I finished on 25th and stupid consulted Google about what to expect.

Sshsecretenclosed · 08/01/2017 19:23

I know. I've done the same and it's made me panic. I'm already panicking that we will never conceive etc!! Why do we do it to ourselves?!?! I have OPKs and I'm already feeling like I need to ban myself!

OnNaturesCourse · 08/01/2017 19:28

Have you used them yet? I started on CD12 promising myself it was just so I could see how my body was getting on but I'm now at CD17 and my heads going "that's it something is wrong" Hmm but the lovely ladies here have put my mind at rest. I've promised myself that I'm just going to get to know my body post pill and DTD every couple of days for the first 6 months... no pressuring myself.

FX for you xx

Sshsecretenclosed · 08/01/2017 19:32

Yes I have used some! I really shouldn't. Me and my DH have decided to just DTD every other day as this cycle is most likely to be all over the place. You are so right that the OPKs just make you worry that body is all over the place. Three days after I came off pill (and before withdrawal bleed) I got this OPK and I was convinced it was surge but it can't have been as I had withdrawal bleed. Just shows that body is all over!

Hello newbies,

Mrsfish I guess you're just gonna have to wait until you get a proper af. Hopefully she'll rock up over the next couple of weeks. I got loads of what I thought were ov signs on my first cycle but then nothing for 3 months but the ewcm sounds promising.

shh I know the feeling. I am finally feeling like things are getting back to normal having had two cycles of fairly similar lengths but it's taken 5 months.

Sounds like temping is going to be the best way forward for you nature - Deffo don't be dehydrating yourself if you have health issues.

First cycle off the pill is by far the worse, my hormones didn't know what they were doing. Mixed with the excitement of ttc, it's all a bit overwhelming but I feel much less anxious about it all now, still trying to make sense of my cycles tho🙄
