Jibberoo - the longer I'm ttc the more I think supplements are just another industry to con men and women desperate for a baby out of more money. Obviously folic acid is important but the rest is based on little scientific evidence and anecdote. I take ubiquinol as it really helps with my sore joints (and it's not even indicated for that) but I gave up on everything else as it either did nothing or in the case of vitex reduced my luteal phase& made mid cycle spotting worse.

Jibberoo · 17/09/2016 18:14

Green - not sure what that means but can't you do a pg test? Surely by cd27 you would be able to pick it up?

Bloop - I'm quite dubious of supplements generally as agree there's no scientific proof but then again I don't want to miss out if t helps.

Will try one last month without spending more money and then see what I can do. Wish I could get dh to get his sperm tested as hate not knowing if it's all good.

Greenglassteacup · 17/09/2016 19:55

Yes I'll do a preg test in the morning, I bought one today. Am certain it will be negative & the positive opks are to do with weird peri-menopausal hormone fails. Still getting strong positive opk today. Mild cramping, sore boobs, no spotting

Greenglassteacup · 17/09/2016 19:56

I have a box full of cheapo opks & didn't have any preg tests

ababsurdum · 17/09/2016 20:05

Bloop you're quite probably right. So much of the 'evidence' is anecdotal isn't it? Things that have possibly worked for some though there are so many factors and these are not double blind tests so who really knows for sure? I guess if the cost is within your means there's not a great deal to lose even if they don't actually do anything.

Green have you done a proper test yet?

I got a +ve opk this evening. I didn't think I was going to as this morning's test line was less strong than last nights but pretty dark this evening. I'm quite liking the simplicity of these dip tests.

Congrats greenglass!

Greenglassteacup · 18/09/2016 06:15

I'd rather wait until he gets back. Have hardly slept. Started to worry about everything & anything

Starlumiere · 18/09/2016 09:56

Congratulations Green that's wonderful !!!

AF started on Friday and I am with you girls, never had much of symptom prior to ttc - apart from sometimesfeeling irritated but since taking prenatal vit I am all over the place e emotionally and metallic taste, cramping, boobs hurting, ect.....quite annoying. It will give the vit another month and the weather will see.

Green easier to say thank do but try to relax, you are pregnant how wonderful!!! XXXXXX

Greenglassteacup · 18/09/2016 16:26

Hi greenglass,

I've recently started stalking this thread - so good to see a BFP!

Can you post your stats and perhaps your chart?

I'm a very negative 40-year old this week - feeling like it's never gonna happen!

Greenglassteacup · 18/09/2016 17:28

What do you mean by chart?

MrFuzzyGreen · 18/09/2016 17:54

Congratulations Greenglass! That's amazing! When you got your hopes up with the first positive OPK, I didn't want to say anything - I'd read the same things as you, but I took one last month when I got the unusual spotting and got a positive, so I know it can swing either way. So glad in your case it was a BFP!!! Happy & healthy 9 months! Xxx

Greenglassteacup · 18/09/2016 18:05

Thank you so much. I hope you get that BFP next time, all of you xx

Greenglassteacup · 18/09/2016 18:06

No idea what chart means and stats? Does that mean my age & number of pregnancies etc? Confused

Alibaba2 · 18/09/2016 18:14

Sorry, yes...

Stats means age, how long you were ttc, number of pgs etc.

Do you chart your temps and opks on an App?

Greenglassteacup · 18/09/2016 18:20

No I have never done temperature or entered opk data into an app. That all sounds like too much stress.

I am 42. I have one child ( gave birth when I was 36, 3 months before my 37th birthday). Became pregnant at cycle one. Have been trying for a second baby for 10 months. Posotive ovulation test each month
