Bloop I've read that you get the most fertile cm in the build-up to ov. Dtd as you ov isn't as effective as doing it in the few days beforehand, as ideally there should be swimmers treading water in the Fallopian tube ready for the egg to pop out, and it can take them 24 hours to swim up there. So I think that's why your body throws out all the signs before ov instead of during.

If I ov from my right ovary (the only viable one after losing my left tube) I always get horrible ov pain. The ovary is pushed back & down by a fibroid so it really hurts for several hours. I often don't feel up to dtd on the day of ov itself, but I often 'catch' on those months.

Bloopbleep · 14/09/2016 16:15

Thanks. I'm just so paranoid about missing the opportunity because I can't seem to catch the egg at all. I didn't dtd last night when it happened (was too sore all night) and didn't get chance today so really hope the couple of days before efforts work for me... But they haven't previously so I don't expect anything from it. I'm worried that perhaps my oh has suicidal sperm or that they're a bit thick and swim the other way. His SA was good but that doesn't test their intelligence.

Greenglassteacup · 14/09/2016 16:55

Hello All

How's everyone doing?

Gahhh, I am reading too much into every little twinge again. I always tell myself that I won't do this but still I do it. Cycle day 24. Really sore boobs. Feeling bloated. No pmt style rage.... yet. No pmt style broken sleep......yet

Greenglassteacup · 14/09/2016 17:08

Although I do feel in need of chocolate & my eyeballs leaked a little when a colleague asked me if I was ok. Yep, reckon AF will be along within the next 5 or 6 days

Bloopbleep · 14/09/2016 17:48

I've had three friends (none particularly young) announce their pregnancies yesterday and today. My due date would've been yesterday so it's a double blow for me right now. I should be feeling happy for them (& I am somewhere in hormonal emo mess) but today I just want them all to go away. Sorry for the pity party. How do others distract themselves when everyone is procreating successfully?

Greenglassteacup · 14/09/2016 17:58

BrewI suppose I am lucky in that respect, none of my friends or colleagues close to my age are procreating. It's an emotional ride all of this, each month, the disappointment. I try to walk somewhere green, get out into the countryside as much as poss, try to think about how much I do have to be thankful for.

Greenglassteacup · 14/09/2016 18:10

I feel like I might have a bit of period pain now Sad

Greenglassteacup · 14/09/2016 20:09

And I think the rage is here as I've just lost my shit over something very minor

MrFuzzyGreen · 14/09/2016 21:39

Fingers crossed for you, Greenglass Star

Bloop, don't have an answer for you. It just HURTS. As much as I can, I avoid difficult situations, but it's not always possible. I think every other person I encountered today had a baby or toddler. Just try to be kind to yourself and walk away from as much as you can. Sending you a virtual hug from one sad mum to another xxx

ababsurdum · 15/09/2016 20:50

Bloop I tend to determine when I've ovulated based on a combination of opk, cm and ov pain if I get it - I often do but not always and it's usually when I ovulate on the right side but not always. I also get the most ewcm before ovulation. In the book Taking charge of your fertility the key piece of advice given was to dtd when you get abundant ewcm. The semen analysis tests for whether the sperm can swim in a straight line so that's not likely to be a concern if he got good results.

With regards to dealing with friends pregnancies I really just try not to think about it. I tell myself that pregnancy is not finite and that just because they have got pregnant doesn't mean I won't. I also try to be grateful for the ds I have. It sounds like you've hit a tough patch at the moment and I really feel for you. I have one close friend trying for number 2 and as she's about 10 years younger than me she shouldn't have many issues, another is undergoing IVF. I am hoping both of them get lucky. Of course I hope that I'm going to get lucky too. Ultimately I think I'm a very good bottler though I realise this is not necessarily healthy.

Greenglassteacup I hope AF stays away for a good nine months.

Thanks ababs and fuzzy.
I rarely get ewcm these days and never in abundance so I can't really go by that. Added to that is it looks so much like Erm... Post coital drip that I can never be sure.

How are you today greenglass?

Greenglassteacup · 15/09/2016 22:47

Hello fellow conception seekers FlowersBrewCakeChocolate

Cycle day 25. Boobs are sore. I'm having the usual precursor to AF of a smear of pale pink on the toilet tissue. Mild cramps. Irritable. Looks like it hasn't happened again. Ten months now & nothing. Sad

Greenglassteacup · 15/09/2016 22:55

And do you know what? I am sick of buying folic acid supplements. I'm possed off with the whole thing Angry

Greenglassteacup · 15/09/2016 22:55

Possed = pissed obvs

Greenglassteacup · 15/09/2016 22:56

....takes grumpy self off to bed.

Night all x

Bloopbleep · 16/09/2016 08:57

Ah greenglass I know it well. I'm only 3dpo but I'll know within 2-3 days and I'm not feeling it this month. Meh.

MrFuzzyGreen · 16/09/2016 11:23

Ah Greenglass, I hope you get some good news. It's 9 months for us this month, although in that time we've had a few chemical pregnancies and then we wasted nearly 4 months on a missed miscarriage. Every day I tip the supplements down my neck wondering if they're doing anything other than turning my wee a funny colour!!! Keep holding onto the success stories and know that it's possible - it just takes longer than it does for those annoying young fertile-myrtles.

Good luck Bloop. Wishing you throbbing boobs and waves of nausea very soon! The things we wish for, eh? Last time I had 22 weeks of severe morning sickness, 2 weeks of feeling great, then the rest of it on crutches with SPD. Wishing desperately to have it all back again!

Greenglassteacup · 16/09/2016 11:32

And I can't stop eating this morning, lots of carbs. Feel so tired. Boobs v sore. No more pink when I wipe but I just know that AF is around the corner. Cycle day 26.

Keep on keeping on everyone Flowers xx

Greenglassteacup · 16/09/2016 20:55

Don't ask me why but I just did an ovulation test stick & it shows a string positive. I have vague memories of dr google telling me that These tests can also pick up on pregnancy hormones? Am I clutching at straws?

Greenglassteacup · 16/09/2016 20:56

String = strong ( aplogies for typos, am freaking out a little bit)

ababsurdum · 16/09/2016 21:56

Only one way to find out Greenglassteacup, here's hoping!

Bloop I don't get loads either any more though I do get some. Abundant was the word the book used though. Apparently you can sweep your cervix to collect it but that was too yuck for me so I've never bothered. Ewcm will be stretchy whereas post coital drop won't be (unless mixed with ewcm I suppose).

Cd13 here. No +ve opk yet, most likely tomorrow. Need to dtd tonight and probably the next two also.

Hello ladies

Is it just me or does it seem like older women pg are all over the media? Read about 62yo woman pg today and eatenders is running with the story of Denise being pg at 47. If it wasn't depressing enough not being pg I have to see it all over the tv!

Btw I've never taken supplements but can someone tell me why I should before getting pg? Does it really help?

Only on cd 6 so a long way off but looking forward to next week if I can get dh to get in the mood (he had a major major toothache so unless the dentist can solve it can't see him wanting to dtd Sad)

Letsdothis41 · 17/09/2016 02:49

I was thinking the same Jibberoo ! They are everywhere, I'm hoping its a positive sign!

Greenglassteacup · 17/09/2016 10:17

Strong positive on ovulation predictor at cycle day 27 today....

Greenglassteacup · 17/09/2016 10:17

Boobs not as sore
