A place for all those trying for their first who didn't know their OPKs from their BBTs, their EWCM from their FRERs and everything in between before discovering Mumsnet!

If you're that glorious mix between excited about getting that elusive BFP and terrified - this is the place for you Smile

Welcome lottie
Good luck for testing seahawk - will keep an eye out in the morning!
Sorry for the shit day moonlight - me too, dropped my phone in the supermarket and it smashed and now all the glass pieces are falling out. I was almost like it happened in slow motion!!Sad

Pyjamas81 · 19/09/2016 20:02

Oh no Eva! Is your phone insured?

Welcome Lotti Smile

Same here on stressful afternoon at work mojitos - very hard to not get wrapped up in the daily corporate grind.

Sorry you're feeling crap Alice , but glad to hear it hasn't hit you as hard as last time. I'm desperately trying not to get my hopes up which is hard because we really did everything this cycle. I'm just trying to carry on as normal!

Red - obviously easier said than done but try not to worry, lots of people don't get symptoms for ages, my mum didn't with me!

Back on the healthy wagon for me today apart from homemade brownies someone brought to work.

Evening ladies. Thank you for all your support the last few days. I was slowly going mad lol

Still nothing with AF but I think the excitement of starting to try has me in a tizz coupled with a stressful week at work last week which meant I've had the nervous tummy and that's making me wee like a racehorse!!! Bloody nerves!!

I just really want to have that first after pill AF and get my cycles on the go then I can start to feel like I know what I'm doing (or at least pretend better lol)

Is it weird to dream about how you would tell your family you're trying/pregnant?? I dreamt I told my mum she was going to be a nanna and woke up upset. Grrr.

Eva30 · 19/09/2016 20:48

No pjs but have managed to find a groupon for screen repair for £25 so not as expensive as I thought it'd cost me. When are you testing? Dreams and toilet trips are sounding good!

MoonlightMojitos · 19/09/2016 21:30

Oh no eva :( that sucks. I hate things like that, I'm really clumsy and forever hitting things over and it always seems slow mo although I can't do anything to stop it!

pj snap. Rubbish. I recently had a promotion to assistant manager on my team and it's really getting to me at the moment. Don't get me wrong I'm happy to do it but my personal workload was higher than everyone else's already and I just don't know some days how I'm meant to keep on top of it plus managing everyone else. Oh God, brownies are my weakness! I love anything chocolatey. I've struggled today last 3 days since ov I'm just craving carbs but I was doing so well before!

mouse... how long ago did you stop contraception? Sorry I can't scroll back pages on my phone without losing my post!

MouseLove · 19/09/2016 22:18

Moonlight, just last week. So not long. X

MrsCW86 · 19/09/2016 22:26

Officially giving up with the bold - what the shiznit is going on with my ability to put asterisks either side of a word?!

Seakhawk that's probably the best poas excuse I've seen so far - Star for you! Fx for you tomorrow when if you test Grin

Lisa that seems like a sensible plan, not to encourage obsessively poas but I'd suggest maybe getting some cheap tests online (if you haven't already) as it could get expensive!

Haha moonlight, so true! I don't know why self-control goes out the window when it comes to poas!! Hope you're feeling a little better now - I know it's only work but it's what we spend most of our day doing so it's hard not to get wound up about it.

Thanks flora Smile fx a fw holiday will do the trick. Between fw hols and tww hols, I think clearly the solution is to be on holiday 75% of the time when tcc...

Redblu sounds quite similar to me. Last night I dreamt someone was trying to feed me pâté soup and that I didn't know how to say no, so kept trying to scoop it out of my bowl... And then I woke up...

Alice glad you're feeling better than last month, don't be too hard on yourself but maybe going to the docs would help - being stressed all the time must just be exhausting if nothing else, look after yourself so you can make a nice home for future bean Smile

Welcome lottie!

Oh no Eva! At least you can get it fixed cheaper than expected - you really can get everything on groupon now! I'd never even have thought to look... They make a killing if they did hpts...

Ah pjs, chocolate brownies definitely don't count as unhealthy! They're good for metal wellbeing which is just as important she says putting down the pack of biscuits...

Mouse this is the best place to go mad, because everyone understands!

I think I would have lost it slightly if I didn't have you ladies to vent / rant / admit to obsessively poas with Flowers

Pyjamas81 · 19/09/2016 23:09

Testing on 27th Eva (24 dpo) - will be taking a lot of tests with me on holiday! Dreams probably from the cheese I had and toilet trips probably from all the beer from the weekend lol. Glad you found a cheap fix for your phone!

I had a promotion not too long ago as well mojitos - great as I love the extra money and I'm now at a point in my career where I feel like I can take some time out to start a family, but the workload and stress is immense!

You're right MrsC - this is the only safe space to unleash the cray cray!

7dpo for me tomorrow.

I.

Will.

Not.

Symptom.

Spot.

OP posts:
Pyjamas81 · 19/09/2016 23:10

Sorry Eva meant to say am testing on 27th at 14dpo, not 24dpo!

OP posts:
Seahawk80 · 20/09/2016 04:39

Welcome Lotti!

So BFN for me today. But I feel ok, I'd rather know as with my weird cycles it could take a week or 2 for AF to show. I'll test again in a few days to be sure but I just didn't feel like it was my month, there was a lot of stress having / getting test results but now that's done and we can go full steam
Ahead this cycle. Also starting agnus castus to help with cycle length.

Sorry about your phone Eva, I hate it when that happens.

Sorry the witch got you Alice. I agree going to the doctors won't do any harm, hopefully they can put your mind at rest.

Mrs CW Pate soup sounds so rank! Made me laugh!

Pjs - good luck with testing - hope you get a better result than me! Enjoy your holiday!

Feel free to unleash the craziness Grin

Blissfulignorance · 20/09/2016 07:13

So got little wifi while on holiday, BFN for me this month.

Gutted but at least I have all inclusive cocktails to ease the pain. Congrats MrsC. Fantastic news. I hope everyone else is doing good. Checking out until home and feeling better. Fx for you all.

WarwickAlice · 20/09/2016 10:33

moonlight, I ovulate on D9-10, then af comes on day 23-24, so I think lp is the right length. I read on the internet (stupid thing to do) that anything less than a 24 day cycle is abnormal and now I'm convinced I'm infertile.

Pyjamas fx for you - everything is looking good for you this month so I hope it is good news. It is so difficult to be normal though, I find, it's impossible not to get your hopes up.

MrsCW thank you - I agree, being stressed constantly is not where I want to be. I'm starting to find that I'm hating my body again and that is really frightening for me. I worked really hard to get over bulimia when I was a teenager and have not had any body hate thoughts for ages. I do not want those feelings to come back again.

Love xx

bassetmum · 20/09/2016 10:35

I am with you pjs. Trying so hard not to symptom spot. I do feel like I'm failing miserably at it though. For example I haven't noticed spots, feeling a bit dizzy, boobs feeling solid, being knackered.

Trying to focus on my nephews 1st birthday party on Saturday and my nieces 3rd on Sunday instead, plus we are all on the countdown for the arrival of the second nephew. Christmas has some answering for!! Its making September an expensive month.

Enjoy your holiday Bliss - all inclusive cocktails sound fantastic.

Fx seahawk that it was just an early test

bassetmum · 20/09/2016 10:38

Warwick - missed your post whilst writing mine. I am sure ive read as long as your luteal phase is between 12-14 days long it doesn't matter about total cycle length

Eva30 · 20/09/2016 11:07

Sorry for the bfn's seahawk and blissful but hurrah for being on holiday and cheers to the cocktails!

alice I read on the Internet the other day that having AF for less than 4 days also means you're highly unlikely to get pg which I think is a load of crap. Must stay away from Dr Google.

pjs I'll be checking in on my hol, good luck to you & other testers.

Cd5 here and AF has buffered off. Will start doing opks around cd10.

LisaSimpsonsbff · 20/09/2016 11:48

WarwickAlice I completely know what you mean about hating/distrusting your own body. I don't know how to stop it, though. I'm trying to focus on reasons why not getting pregnant right away would be good (a few months' time would be better timing for my work) but I know I have still got my hopes up all the same!

This was actually quite a stupid month to start TTC, since I've been away for three work trips adding up to nearly half the month, and DH is a teacher so this is a mad stressful month for him - whatever happens, more sex next month! Grin

LisaSimpsonsbff · 20/09/2016 13:30

Oh crap, just arrived at destination for work trip no. 3, been to the loo - EWCM! I'm not home until Fri night and we last DTD on Sun night. We're going to miss this one, aren't we? Damn it!

Eva30 · 20/09/2016 15:47

Ah no lisa - worst timing ever! As soon as you walk through the door on Fri get one in the bag and hope for the best!Grin

LisaSimpsonsbff · 20/09/2016 16:14

I guess, Eva! Unless... does this baby really have to be DH's?!

Notyetthere · 20/09/2016 16:17

LisaGrinGrinGrin

Seahawk80 · 20/09/2016 17:10

Ha ha Lisa! That cheered me up on a bfn day Smile

bassetmum · 20/09/2016 17:36

Haha LisaWink

Pyjamas81 · 20/09/2016 18:08

Oh Lisa - thanks for making me laugh after a particularly crap day at the office!

7dpo over here - only thing I've noticed is creamy cm, but that could be a sign of AF. Oh and some slight cramping yesterday - probably trapped wind...

OP posts:
MrsCW86 · 20/09/2016 18:23

Pmsl Lisa!!!! Sod's law though, fx Sunday's swimmers have stuck around to the max!

Sorry for the bfn Seahawk - definitely enjoy the £40 wine now though!

Ha pjs, if you were waiting until 24dpo that would be taking poas restraint to a whole new level!!

Thanks blissful, sorry for you bfn though. Enjoy the rest of your hols, indulge in some tlc Flowers

Alice I think in that case it's even more of a good idea to go and see your gp. Some frustration and anxiety is completely normal but they might be able to give you some advice on how to cope with it in a constructive way. I only say that because my sister has an eating disorder - one of her triggers is when she doesn't feel in control and I know how hard she has to work sometimes to have a healthy relationship with her body and food.

Haha basset I've never thought that about September babies before!

Eva glad AF has buggered off! Also my autocorrect just changed that to buffered - is that what happened to you?!

I booked an appointment with my gp today, it's not for another couple of weeks so I guess just try and chill out until then and keep everything crossed Smile

MoonlightMojitos · 20/09/2016 19:40

pj 😂 I was convinced something was going on in there today, light cramps. Turned out mune was wind! Feel fine again now. Sore left boob.. just the one. But today I wore a new bra for the first time so maybe it just doesn't fit quite right lol. My resolve of waiting until next Thursday is already disappearing.

Thanks mrscw :) had a much better day today. No stress so that's good.

blissful sorry for af but glad you're enjoying the holiday!

warwick I honestly wouldn't worry then hun, 14 days is plenty long enough lp so the short cycles shouldn't matter. Less time to wait between chances!

Alex Jones: Fertility and me is on tonight, looks interesting.

I've started reading girl on the train, it's good! Will be a good distraction in the 2ww but don't think it'll last me that long!
