TTC No. 3

hello! have been ttc no.3 since last april now. ds took about 3 or 4 cycles to concieve and dd 1 cycle, so i am finding this hard to get my head round!

the main reason for starting this thread, if anyone is interested, is that sometimes i feel really bad chatting on the other threads about age gap concerns, how i will cope with another one etc....when lots of other 'posters' are ttc no.1.

it makes me feel a bit guilty going on about no.3 when some other MNers have such tragic stories.

anyway, i know there are a few of you out there also ttc no.3. Do you all have big houses and cars?

I am only thinking of ttc atm can I still join in?

Have 2 bedroom house with 2 boys in one room atm.

One car a cat and a dog!!

honeyapple · 18/01/2007 12:06

Hi Greedy- nice thread.
LOL at having big house and car!
My car is a citroen picasso so can fit 3car seats... but my house is tiny... only 2 beds! DS and DD already share... I think a new baby would be in with us. Ultimately if i do ever have another child, we will have to move house(at some point). But we really need to do that anyway as DS and DD cant share forever.
We had DD in our room until she was over 1 yrs old anyway and it was fine.

greedyforbabies · 18/01/2007 12:06

where would you put a third one!? how old are your 2 ds? and why only thinking about ttc? i reckon if you are thinking about it, then you must want to deep down and the feeling wont go away, so get BDing!

greedyforbabies · 18/01/2007 12:08

we are having an extension this summer just so we have space for this one (that hasn't even been concieved yet!) waste of a LOT of money if it never happens this time!

OP posts:
honeyapple · 18/01/2007 12:12

Well it's always nice to have a guest room greedy!! (joke!!!)

We are thinking about moving house next year. Within the same area. I dont want to move schools. DS has already been to 3!
Poor boy, I couldnt do it to him again. Hopefully we will be able to afford a bigger house by then.

I want to do a PG test.

ItsMeMellowma · 18/01/2007 12:12

lol greedyforbabies.

Me and dh have only been talking about it this week, I was been thinking about it for a few months though.

I guess I thought I would stop at 2 and here I am

DS are 6 and 2 (almost exactly 4 years between them)!

The bedrooms are quite big in these houses and so some people have partitioned the one large room into 2 smaller rooms.

Or... live in a cottage and have a huge attic space so could convert that.

I have only just came of depo injections and have read that it can take 5 months for things to go back to normal. I also only have 1 working fallopian tube (sorry if tmi).. so don't want to get my hopes up hugely atm.

Would love another though and ds would to methinks

greedyforbabies · 18/01/2007 12:19

hey mellow.....call me greedy! everyone else does! you sound like you have a similar age gap to honeyapple,...is that right honeyapple?
DONT TEST honeyaaple! save your money for an extension!

OP posts:
greedyforbabies · 18/01/2007 12:22

do any of you mums of 2 work? and do you hope to continue after no.3 (assuming it happens!)
and....... WHY OH WHY do you think getting pg is so much harder this time round?

mellow - did you concieve easily before?

OP posts:
ItsMeMellowma · 18/01/2007 12:26

I work from home. Adminstration but nothing too major, although I have applied for job as ds1 school. Only temporary until June anyway.

1st time it took us 4 years had to go to infertility clinic, had a lap and dye and when I came round the doctor said he couldn't get any dye through my tubes!!

We started saving for ivf and I was very very downhearted but then never got another period after the lap and dye as I was pregnant.

After ds1 I had a miscarriage in the April/May of 2004 and then fell pregnant with ds2 in the August.

My heart really goes out to others on here when I see them getting upset at ttc, brings it all back.

honeyapple · 18/01/2007 12:27

Hi greedy, I'm not working at the moment. I stopped my full time job after having 2nd child. i have done a few part time things when we have needed some money... but currently we are ok. I have never had a burning career, the job i did was nice and i enjoyed it, but i wasnt bothered to stop doing it.
My sister has 3, and she has a very strong career, she works 3 days in London and one at home. Her children have all gone to nursery from 6 mths. She currently has an au-pair, which has been really good. But TBH she has got the big house... so can give the au pair the accommodation.
I must say though, she is permanently knackered.

honeyapple · 18/01/2007 12:29

Yes greedy- Mine are 8 and 4

greedyforbabies · 18/01/2007 12:32

i don't really want to work and we dont really need the money, but i spent 4 years working my arse off when i was training and it ended up costing me £30k+ to qualify, so i guess i kind of feel obliged to carry on working. its pretty good really though, cos i only work about 15 hours a week so still get to see loads of my kids!

mellow - how strange how these things happen when ttc! you would probably fall first time this time!

OP posts:
cazzybabs · 18/01/2007 12:38

I am ttc number 3 but have just had my 2nd mc. Like you had 2 no trouble and then this...maybe someone is trying to tell my someone.

We have no car and 2bedrooms and a box room!

greedyforbabies · 18/01/2007 12:48

i feel like its fate sometimes, trying to tell me something...but then i look at my lovely kids and think......screw fate! i want another one!

OP posts:
greedyforbabies · 18/01/2007 12:48

sorry meant to say, sorry to hear about the mcs, must be really tough

OP posts:
honeyapple · 18/01/2007 12:50

I think we have to accept that as you get older, your fertility decreases. I mean it is just much easier to get PG when you are younger... I am still only 30, but I was PG with DS at 21, and DD at 25...
I didnt think that my age would affect it, but am beginning to think that this is probably why it is taking longer this time.

honeyapple · 18/01/2007 12:51

Cazzy- that is horrid about the M/Cs. I hope that you keep on trying for your number 3.

greedyforbabies · 18/01/2007 12:52

OMG! cos your kids are older than mine i assumed you were older than me honeyapple! daft hey! i feel like a dried up old prune now! i am 33

OP posts:
honeyapple · 18/01/2007 12:53

Hardly a prune Greedy- thats not what I meant!
Yes DD was conceived on a gap year in Australia- nice surprise when I came home with big tummy for my mum at the airport!!

greedyforbabies · 18/01/2007 12:55

wow! i was still bonking my way round manchester at 21!

OP posts:
honeyapple · 18/01/2007 12:59

I think part of me wanting to have no.3 is to have a baby that was really really wanted from the very beginning. I love my two of course, but to be fair both of their entrances to the world (or rather to my womb) where less than brilliant. Neither at the right time- or with the right preparation. I am NOW doing the grown up thing of TTC. (But i dont like it).

honeyapple · 18/01/2007 13:00

Pretty sure that despite our marathon BDing this month, AF will arrive soon.

greedyforbabies · 18/01/2007 13:02

i really hope not honeyapple, your good efforts deserve some results! i just wish i didnt have to wait so long for another fertile window!

OP posts:
cazzybabs · 18/01/2007 16:58

Well - you know I havw the most perfect children and I wouldn't want to deprive the world from the genuis .

I am only 28 but am worried about the quality of my eggs...it doesn't seem to be the getting pregnant (she says touching wood and crossing toes, fingers and everything else) but keeping them dividing..

cazzybabs · 18/01/2007 16:59

I meant to type
" Well - you know I havw the most perfect children and I wouldn't want to deprive the world from the potential genuis that will be (am thinking postively) number 3!"
