Evening ladies, I haven't read back yet, but just wanted to say this to sk1pper:

Don't feel silly. The 12 month mark is tough. I remember crying to the ladies on this thread back then (most of whom have graduated now) about how I didn't want our baby to be created this way, I wanted it to be natural. I too was terrified of all tests, and almost didn't want to know. Now I know, knowledge is power, you can't know too much.

I'm with Lucie, get the tests done.

lucieloos · 08/08/2016 20:18

Hey Sammy! Good luck for your scan tomorrow eeekk! I will be thinking of you but I really think everything will be ok. What time is it? Can you come and tell us the good news afterwards? Smile

Thanks Lucie, it's at 9.15. I'm so scared! I had a little bit more brown blood yesterday which hasn't helped the fear. Of course I'll come and let you know, I'm not ready to leave you guys, and won't be until we all graduate!

Mrsren - glad you got a good result from your doctor, my DH had to have a repeat test. We had low morphology (3%) in first test and it was up to 7% in the most recent. It really can change!

Maple - congratulations on being inseminated!

Chops - thank you for stopping by! Hope baby chops is ok? He must be not quite such a baby now?

MPP - those thoughts are completely normal, I swung wildly between hope and complete certainty that it had failed every time.

Waves to everyone else! Xx

Best of luck for tomorrow Sammy.

Sk1pper I am having tests for recurrent miscarriage. It is quite a lot less stressful to be doing something about it and that we may or may not know what is going on. We are on blood tests and SA too. I'd say go for the tests. Have a hug for the one year. That was a hard point for me too, especially as it was just 3 weeks after my first due date.

Swimming this evening for me. I seem to be ovulating late this month. I am worried this is because I am too tired from all the extra going on.

lucieloos · 08/08/2016 21:05

Aww great thanks Sammy. Would be strange without you here. I know how scary the scans are but I really do think you will be ok. Blood is scary too but brown is normal and you will probably get it from time to time. You are going to be fine and at least it would all be over with early tomorrow.

Maple, fantastic news on the insemination!! IIt must be a relief to have had it gone ahead, and I have absolutely everything crossed for you. Haha, I am less windy today, but it hasnt gone away completely. Maybe more drone-powering than plane-powering at the moment!

Lucie, I didn't think of ringing the embryo line, and I have only just seen your message. Do you think they will still be able to give me the info if I phone them tomorrow? I actually bought two packs of frers today, and I tested this afternoon after about a 4 hour hold. The window stayed brilliant white. I was actually a bit disappointed. I cant even get a second line when testing for a trigger! I'll try again tomorrow with fmu, but I think its probably safe to say its out of my system? Annoying for you about the double dose of ovitrelle. What day do you usually test after transfer? They gave me 20th August as OTD and that seems like a very long way away.

Hi Chops. You dont know me, but before I actually started posting I did rather alot of stalking and you are one of the people I feel like I 'know'. Hope you are ok, and your LO is doing well :-)

Skipper, I'm sorry your appointment didnt go so well. I am of the same opinion as Lucie. When we first went to our GP, he was very nice and started tests right away (though I did exaggerate how long we had ttc a bit!). I'm glad he did, because DH's SA came back as very low count of under 2 million. Without knowing that, we could have tried for ages and not gotten anywhere, so at least we were put on the right road rather quickly. Saved us rather alot of heartache in my opinion. As Sammy said, knowledge is power. Also, where we are there is a 12-18 month wait for the NHS fertility clinic, so if its like that where you are, it might be good to be referred as soon as possible if they find any issues. The 12 month mark is definitely a difficult one but you are in the right place, and we're always up for supporting anyone who's feeling a bit shit-losing :-)

MrsRen, my DH had a repeat test too. He'd been on fertilaid for 3 months in between, but while his numbers did increase, his motility decreased. I think he had 3 altogether and they were all about the same. I did aloot of googling at the time, and there are so many factors that can influence sperm so they probably just want to double check. Always good to have next steps sorted though. I hope all the other tests go well.

Sammy, massive amounts of good luck for tomorrow. Im sure its nerve wracking, but I also think it will be fine. I'll be thinking of you. Very pleased you're not planning to leave us! Like Lucie said, it would be strange without you here!! Thank you for your comments. This evening I am back on 'of course it hasnt worked' but I hope I will be more hopeful again tomorrow.

Brenna, I think I read somewhere that exercise can affect the cycle. Perhaps its just that. Are you tracking/temping? I hope you enjoyed your swim!

maplebaby · 08/08/2016 22:19

Skipper I'm sure you've looked it up by now but they basically open you up with a speculum (like a smear) then pass a tube / catheter through your cervix and squirt in the washed sperm! It was quite uncomfortable and the nurse said she found my cervix easily but felt like she was having a good old rummage up there for ages!! Hmm I'm sorry the GP was crap - I agree with others to go ahead with the tests if you have the spare cash.

I echo the 12 month mark comment - it is tough - I found 18 month hard too (which was this month).

Mrsren my DH had to do a second analysis too as he had low morphology in the first one.

Sammy good luck for tomorrow! We'll all be thinking of you.

I have mixed feelings about the insemination MPP - although it feels good that I managed to get it done and it feels like I'm doing something this cycle, the negative side of me (which is dominant especially when it comes to TTC!!) can't help but think it was a waste of time if my lining is pants. I wish they scanned me so I could see where it was at today.

Glad to hear you aren't powering any planes today! I would feel the same if I was testing out a trigger and didn't get a line - bloody stark white window staring back - story of my life!!

lucieloos · 08/08/2016 22:35

MPP, yes it will be no problem to ring the embryo line between 12-1pm tomorrow and they will be able to tell you what happened. They told me the report would take about 10 days so you could be waiting a while otherwise! That's good news that your frer was negative this evening you should be in the clear! I normally test at 6 or 7dpt (well normally i start earlier than that as I'm a poas addict) but by 7dpt you should have a pretty accurate answer with a frer. No way could I wait until OTD waaaayy too long!

Just calling in to check up - loads happening on the thread MPP and Lucie I've got everything crossed - and for everyone else waiting on results. Sammy scan date has come around so soon! x

maplebaby · 09/08/2016 09:14

Thinking of you sammy!

loopylou1984 · 09/08/2016 10:25

We have 2 heart beats! 1 embryo didn't make it, but the other one split so we have identicals. Measuring 7+3 and 7+1 (I'm actually 7+4 so not too far out). Can't believe it, I'm so used to bad news that I just thought it would be the same today.

Omg Sammy twins!!! Congratulations! Are you getting any sickness by the way? The meds you were on for egg stimulation made you ill didn't they and they were thinking you'd get severe morning sickness? I didn't get sickness until 12 weeks but has nausea from 6w. And yes mini chops is 9 months this month! Shocking!

Hi mpp good luck on your journey! I didn't know I had a following ;-) lol

Itsme247 · 09/08/2016 13:05

Ahhhhh twins!!!! Yay congratulations Sammy, oh my goodness you were so close to triplets...

Well done I'm so pleased for you :) xx

Brenna24 · 09/08/2016 13:25

Twins Sammy, that is amazing. Grin Best of luck for the next few weeks. Seeing a heartbeat is a really good sign.

MPP I am temping and using IC OPKs. Both tend to be quite accurate for me. It will turn up eventually no doubt. I am glad to hear exercise can make a difference. I do a fair amount anyway, but I am doing a shit ton right now and I am absolutely exhausted as a result, so it would not be surprising to be a bit late ovulating. How are you feeling now?

star1980 · 09/08/2016 14:29

Oh my goodness sammy, congratulations!! Identical twins, how amazing!

lucieloos · 09/08/2016 15:30
