I agree on the name change. I think maybe 18mths plus? Or 12mths plus? Not sure, something that's definitely long term ttc and likely to attract ladies in a similar situation to us. Lucie, I thought you dealt with the"is this a line" post incredibly well. Kind but clear. Not her fault that she hadnt read the thread but it's not very helpful all the same.

might we consider moving to infertility? When I joined this thread id been ttc 12mths and I certainly didn't consider myself infertile (thought my bfp was right around the corner) so might not have found this, but now all the threads I lurk on are in infertility really and the conception board seems so far away from my experience. Just a thought.

Itsme, good luck with the digi today Smile You're so right about the likelihood of needing treatment if it doesn't happen within 6months or a year

beanhunter · 03/08/2016 08:41

Hi all. Have been lurking and following whilst we debated whether to go again. Now on the pill with a few days to go until period due so will be starting on d21 which I think will fall at the end of August. We will be having icsi this time after the fertilisation failure last time.
Much more realistic (read pessimistic) about the outcome this time. Still think I was so naive last time, but then again we had had 3 semi-spontaneous pregnancies and one actual baby so I just assumed it would work. That turned out to be a very expensive wrong assumption.
Anyhow so gearing up. The marvellous banana has told me what supplements to take and the manshape is even begrudgingly taking some multivits. So all systems go....

maplebaby · 03/08/2016 08:49

MPP hooray to the fertilised eggs! Glad you're having a nice time even with the headaches - hope they have subsided a bit.

Lucie I agree with changing the thread title next time and def looking forward to a grads thread with us all on it!!

Brenna well done with all the exercise! Glad that kilo was gone this morning! Like banana said don't be hard on yourself, sounds like you are doing really well with it all to me!

Banana thanks for the reassurance Smile really hope the wash works for you! And blimey a 34mm follie!!

Waves to everyone else! Hope you're all hanging in there.

MrsRen · 03/08/2016 08:52

Hi Ladies :-) just catching up on what's been going on. Glad to see there are lots of positives once again!

Banana, that sucks but like others have said your doctor sounds amazing!

Brenna, I will say to you what DH says to me - you've probably added muscle by exercising which is heavier :-)

I've been thinking about what our next steps will be with the doc no matter what the SA results are. I think it would be for me to have a HSG? I've heard that sometimes there is a very long waiting list and that not all doctors will send you? Is this an urban myth, have any of you had one?

Fingers crossed for you all X

P.s loving the pre seed Winkand the tea is more pleasant than I thought!

Itsme247 · 03/08/2016 09:02

Mrs Ren I would probably only go for a hsg if there isn't a sperm issue its not the most enjoyable of experiences. I had a hsg, then a lap and dye and I was fine - DH SA was the last thing to be done and meant we were eligible for IVF anyway.

lucieloos · 03/08/2016 09:09

Itsme, yes get the digi, you should be into the 3+ zone now.

MPP, I've had acupuncture in the uk before and have been having it this cycle alongside treatment but I haven't had it in Czech. I know lots of the other ladies have though and rave about how good the woman is and seeing as I can't use my usual lady in the uk for the transfer bit I'm happy to give it a go.

Banana, glad you have had the wash done and really hope this helps. I agree with the others your consultant does sound amazing and between the two of you I'm sure you're going to work this out.

Star, yes I agree I was thinking something along the lines of 18months+ moving onto ivf / assisted conception. I agree it wasn't her fault as the title doesn't help but I just find it strange how these ladies pop up. She obviously can't have posted on any of the conception threads very regularly otherwise she would have asked there so what do they do poas and get excited and think hang on I'm going to post this on the internet somewhere and see what others think?! Yes definitely need to move over to infertility as well I think. That's another thing I have often thought that we are not really suited to conception anymore. If everyone else agrees we will move over when we start the new thread!

Bean, lovely to hear from you. Glad you are ok and getting geared up to start again. Please stick around and let us know how you are getting on.

Mrsren, I've never had a hsg, my consultant didn't think it necessary based on my history. I did pay privately for a hysteroscopy though which was all clear. Sorry can't help you too much on the waiting times. I guess it probably depends which area you are in. My health board are notoriously slow but I know others on here have been seen pretty quickly.

maplebaby · 03/08/2016 10:25

I agree with you lucie and star about moving onto the infertility page - I browse the threads in there more often than conception which is filled with "is this a line" posts. 18months+ sounds appropriate too.

Nice to hear from you both mrsren and bean! Good luck with the ICSI and keep us updated bean! Mrsren I've never had HSG either, just the Hycosy so I'm no help I'm afraid!

Borisisback · 03/08/2016 10:33

MrsRen - I had a HSG as part of the basic package of tests done for infertility investigations. Unlike the blood test and ultrasound I was refered for this by my local consultant not gp - that's how it works round here.

The waiting list here was I think 6 week or 2 months or so - not slow by nhs standards :)

it was by far the worst and least dignified part of the infertility / ivf journey for me and didn't tell me anything new. If I was to have ivf treatment here on the nhs (which I'm not entitled to) I would have had to have the HSG to proceed. With private treatment I didn't actualy need it.

Our infertility is probably due to low sperm volumes, but I wanted to rule out additional complications stopping us getting pregnant naturally.

I was glad i had it to know my tubes are clear etc however it wasn't plesant and Id never have one again or anything like it.

hope this helps. Good luck to you :)

bananafish81 · 03/08/2016 11:05

Agree 100% on moving to 'infertility' - I never even come on the conception boards, I only ever browse infertility

RE the HSG, if having it done privately then I'd go for a HyCoSy, as it's much less painful than an HSG (so I'm told, I never had one), and it serves as both a saline ultrasound and tubal patency test.

I never actually had my tubes checked before starting IVF, but Dr sent me for a HyCoSy in June for a check out after I didn't have a proper bleed (wanted to check a good look at the endometrium, and check for any retrograde menstruation into the tubes). It was very much NOT painful and probably a few seconds of mild discomfort at worst

MrsRen · 03/08/2016 12:07

Thanks all, lots of good advice there. Lots to think about between now and Monday's appointment!

beanhunter · 03/08/2016 14:48

I also avoided an hsg as I had a lap and dye because I needed surgical treatment of ovarian cysts. When we then moved onto IVF consultant said she wouldn't check again (this was 4 years later) as it wouldn't impact on our proceeding with treatment.

MPP81 · 03/08/2016 14:54

I think moving to infertilty is a good plan too. As Star said, the conception boards seem so far away now.

Brenna, so glad the extra kilo disappeared for you! Grin

Hi Bean! Good to hear from you. Hope you're ok, and that this cycle goes well!

Mrsren, I have no experience with the hsg, as we moved straight to ivf after DH's SA, but it sounds as though everyone else has given you lots to think about.

Ah yes, Lucie, I remember you saying you'd had some back home but wasnt surre about here. I'll be interested to hear what you think of this lady. Wishing you all the luck for tomorrow!!

lucieloos · 03/08/2016 15:21

Thanks MPP, hope you've had a good day today and good luck with your day 3 results tomorrow x

Hi guys! Sorry for the disappearing act, I just wanted to pop my head back in ... not with a pee stick Smile but to say a quick hello ... I've been very erratic but have ended up mostly on 'BESH relocated' thread which is in Infertility - as you guys were saying below, I just didn't want to visit the conception boards any more. I mean even just to visit you all I had to see the words 'baby dust' [shudder] Sorry if anyone uses that, I know it can be lovely and well meant but just leaves me cold.

Really thrilled to see such good news for you lucie and you MPP! Amazing! By coicidence I had EC on Monday as well. We got several fertilised and waiting to hear if we have embryos.

And banana I've been following your story's latest twists and just unable to say anything adequate except girl you are STRONG. I hope you get a lucky break soon. Flowers

Anyway, just wanted to say a quick hello - thinking of you all, and hi to anyone I haven't mentioned. xx

MPP81 · 03/08/2016 18:45

Thanks Lucie. Yes, we had a good day today. We went back to the main square, wandered about a bit, then did the labyrinth tour and visited the ossuary. We're planning on going up to the lake/dam one day too. Hope you had a good day!

Hi Rebecca! Glad the EC went well, and fingers crossed for you! Will you hopefully be having a day 5 transfer? Hope you're doing ok!

Pretty nervous for day 3 results tomorrow! Trying and failing not to think about it too much!

lucieloos · 03/08/2016 18:52

That's sounds fun MPP we went to the crypt today and saw lots of mummies! It was a bit eerie but something I hadn't done before. I feel the same about tomorrow and day 5 results hope there's something there! Good luck.

Lucie - I agree with a change of thread title and moving to the infertility boards.
I lurk on some other threads and BESH have just moved over calling it a 'change to less offensive surroundings'
That's brilliant that the Accupuncture lady will come to your hotel!

Banana - I've said it before, but I think I love your consultant. So few doctors are open to trying new things! Glad the procedure went well, fingers crossed it does the trick.

It's me - I did a CB digi at 5+4 I think and got 3+. However I have read about women who've got stuck on 2-3 and had bloods of over 5000 so I think they can be a bit temperamental.

Bean - good luck in the run up to starting again. And well done Mr Bean for getting with the program and taking his vits!

Mrsren - I agree with the others about not worrying about hsg or hycosy if your dhs SA shows problems. Wait and see what his results say first.... Or book it and cancel if you can be referred for treatment without it.

Waves to Rebecca! Good luck with your ET!

AFM I keep having dreams that I've started bleeding, I wake up close to tears. Tuesday cannot come soon enough. Yet st the same time I'm terrified. Xx

Itsme247 · 04/08/2016 07:13

Sammylou I know how you feel, this wait is evil! I got 3+ this morning and I was as happy as I was when I first saw the lines! Good luck to everyone that is waiting on news today and tomorrow xx

lucieloos · 04/08/2016 08:23

I'm pupo!!!! I've had a really good grade 1 hatching blast transferred and we have another hatching blast and an expanding blast to freeze today both grade 1 and they are checking another 2 tomorrow to see if they can be frozen. Amazing result!!

Lucie!!!!!! Woooooo hoooooooo so excited for you and your DH.

stealthbanana · 04/08/2016 08:28

Amazing lucie! Congratulations on being PUPO!! What a great moment for you on this long journey. Enjoy it, and we'll all keep our fingers crossed that the little embie is bedding in tight. And wonderful news about frosties too. You make great embies!

loopylou1984 · 04/08/2016 08:30

Congratulations Lucie! Xx

MrsRen · 04/08/2016 08:32

Excellent :-)

Itsme247 · 04/08/2016 09:07

Yippee!! Lucie that's an amazing result!!!! Congratulations :) you've almost got a football team in frosties now ! Well done xx

lucieloos · 04/08/2016 09:12

Thanks everyone! We don't know if the frosties will pass the testing so we might not be any further ahead with those but at least it's a chance! It will be about 3 weeks until we find out. Really hope this little one sticks.

MPP, good luck with your results today. I was so nervous going to the clinic to find out what we had.
