Hugh enjoys ISW and his love affair with Doreen. He watches out for skittle tits and weepyitis. Mrs Arseholey Fucknut (Af) shows up when you least want her but brings wine and soft cheese as a consolation prize.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind and well meaning but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly don't convince yourself you're pregnant in the tww That is paramount! It messes with your head and makes you crazy crazier

We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts. We want a fanny full of determined Doreen, not unicorn farts and gnome tears with extra sparkle. We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area.

Post your stats and add your dates. A more lovely, supportive group of ladies you couldn't wish to meet. We've got a few grads sticking around I won't leave and no question is too daft. We have opk experts, cervical mucus management teams and symptom spotters extraudinaire!

Peaches I think you're right May BMI was 32 pre pregnancy and I asked the GP if it would be better to lose weight first or try anyway, she said she was more important but to continue healthy eating. I'm 28.

Good luck snow!

I'm 12+4 now.

kwick · 03/06/2016 07:57

Well done pug!!! What is the secret to your SW success?

Still no sign of AF - maybe I should try raspberry leaf tea?

SuchaJem · 03/06/2016 08:12

Morning all

Cd 15 over here, peak OPK yesterday so egg should be cruising by. Plenty of Doreen up there so it's fx time.

Not much by way of ovulation pain, which is annoying. Had a twinge or two yesterday but nothing to hang your hat on.

Well done on your weight loss pug that's good going.

Fx witch here soon kwick

Kathrino · 03/06/2016 08:30

Good luck Jem!

AF arrived this morning. New test date of 2nd July. Going to get a bit more scientific for this cycle I think...

Pugmummy87 · 03/06/2016 08:55

Thanks everyone. It's first week weigh in so I'm sure some of that is probably water loss too, but basically I tracked everything I ate with a food diary, weighed/measured my healthy extras and checked the syn values before I ate things. Plus ensuring a third of my plate was speed foods.

Hoping that I may get my half stone award next week if I lose 3lbs this week. Fx.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 03/06/2016 09:34

geeup I joined this thread at its conception in October, the intention was to come of the pill in December to start trying in January. I've not been on any hormonal contraception for almost 3 years but we had decided not to start ttc until Jan/Feb.

Well, by December I'd worn dh down Grin he was away/working for most of December and then what I thought was fertile week actually wasn't, so we completely missed it as we were at my Dps for most of Christmas/new year! Was my first month using opk's. I had a high lh level consistently which was confusing as balls. That was a 5 week cycle I think.

On to January, thought we timed it right, but again, unpredictable cycle, I thought I was ovulating earlier than I was. Had a go at working out where my cervix was, gave up swiftly. Started wondering if I was doing opk's right, so did one a day to build up a picture.

February. This was a shock 33 dayer as opposed to the usual for me, which was 37-40+. So short and sweet for me, but annoying because this was the only cycle I thought we might have cracked it. Opk's were showing that I ovulated later than day 14, usually after day 17/18.

March, took evening primrose oil for the first two weeks of cycle. Didn't do opk's. My Dh could smell when I was ovulating, we tested the theory before, his nose knows! Dtd every other day, up unil 2 days before I was assuming I ovulated, then dtd every day until 3 days after. Got bfp.

The only thing I did differently was taking evening primrose and not opking. Honestly though, I put it down to dtd from before I thought I was ovulating. I took folic acid from December every day. Ate well etc. I drank in the tww if I fancied a glass of wine. There's no special recipe that I did other than dtd A LOT and more frequently from before you think you ovulate. I put balance active gels up my twink a couple of times after af but before fertile week to keep it healthy, but I've always done that as I'm prone to cystitis/thrush.

snow fingers crossed! kwick got you in my thoughts and prayers lovely lady.
pug that's exellant news! Well done you!

And just to confirm the "oh we weren't really trying" thing is bollocks! I've actually said it, it came out of my mouth! I think it's because people actually ask about your sex life and I've found it really weird and just waned to move on really quickly in the conversation!

OP posts:
SkyLucy · 03/06/2016 10:55

Thanks for all the deets Starky. I'm particularly cheered by your note on "we weren't really trying" - always hoped suspected that was bollocks!

Had a weird/sad row with DH last night...he has to go to Miami for work in a couple of weeks - rubbish timing. I gently suggested next week would be better but he said he had no control over it. That means we fast-forward to cycle 7. I'm surprisingly upset by this, but feel like such a bitch for getting upset! Sad

SuchaJem · 03/06/2016 13:00

Sky don't feel like a bitch at all, I would be gutted if I had to miss a month. Assuming you can't nip out and join him for a few strategic days...

WingingIt83 · 03/06/2016 13:23

well done on the weight loss pug!

Ok advice please; so following my picture of my chart, it looks like I had positive opk on CD17 and CD18. At the time I thought CD18 was stronger but now both dry I think CD17 is the closest to control line. OPKd on CD19 at 2pm and 8pm and both faint so the peak is definitely over.

I had a bit of EWCM on CD19. How do you actually predict your day of ovulation? Is it CD18 on basis that was the last day of strong OPK? I don't really get pains as such, feel mildly crampy/groggy today (CD20).

My next dilemma is that I now appear to fall into the short luteal phase bracket and have read that it can cause issues conceiving. If Ov was CD18 and my cycle is 28 again this month then that's only 10 days Hmm.

marmitetoast1 · 03/06/2016 13:36

Sorry to hear you're still in limbo Kwick, so frustrating for you Flowers I bet the cow turns up the day before GP appointment!

Good luck Jem, fx this is the month for you!

I would definitely feel the same Sky, it becomes such a big thing, it's totally understandable I think.

CD8 here. My first batch of OPKs arrived yesterday but have now decided not to use them this cycle and keep it relaxed again for cycle 2. I mean last month we didn't have a clue about timings at all, so this month at least I have an approximate idea of the fertile week (presuming I have another 36 day cycle that is... have started early anyway just in case! Wink ) I was just tempted to use them this month to find out if/for the hopeful reassurance that I am actually ovulating...

Mooseville · 03/06/2016 15:14

I'd be the same sky It's me working away a lot at the moment and it's so frustrating knowing time is ticking away....

I have no idea what's going on with me. Took EPO last cycle for first time until cd 14 and positive OPK and AF came two days early.
This month, I reduced the dose by half to 1000mg a day, and tbh I've only remembered to take them a few days. Today is cd 14, every month I've always got a positive OPK on 14, I haven't been doing them religiously, but yesterday and today they are just pretty blank???? What has happened to my perfectly regular cycle? Stupid EPO, still haven't had any EWCM, not seen that since cycle 1. Bloody managed to get DP on board with Doreen and now where's Hugh? No idea if I've ov'd early or its late??? FFS! Pass the wine! At least it's Friday!!!

jem got everything crossed for you... Let's get these bloody eggs fertilised!!

bluebird3 · 03/06/2016 16:03

Well done on the weight loss pug! I'd love a 4 lb weight loss. I'm hardcore on to healthy eating mode this week.

kwick · 03/06/2016 18:00

Damn pug was hoping you would say that you had eaten a shed load of donuts but as you were signed up to SW the weight just fell off Envy

starky when you lay down like that it does not seem like too many tries b4 success but I was there with you from December and I know how long it feels. I am still fricking waiting for AF!!! Angry

Also now have a shellfish crisis for the paella I am cooking tomorrow - fx I can find some ingredients now!

SuchaJem · 03/06/2016 19:27

Thanks marmite and moose Wine I hope so too!

Moose that's odd re the epo maybe it's not suited to you Confused how annoying. Hope hugh hurries along.

Got another positive OPK today so perhaps egg still on its way. No ovulation twinges at all Hmm more DTD is the only thing for it I think..

kwick · 03/06/2016 21:06

Absolutely sucha!!!! Have lots of chukka-chukka!!!

Am reading well interesting book - may have been recommended on this thread: woman code. Got a feeling I am gonna have to give up sugar... BUT IT WILL BE WORTH IT!!!

geeup · 03/06/2016 22:43

Thank you so much for sharing starky. Hoping it's a sign from someone up high that I'm on cycle 13 and started taking epo for the first time this cycle. Hopefully it could do something good for me too (but not muck up my cycle hopefully!). I'll be a year this month which feels very very long. Good luck ladies.

SkyLucy · 04/06/2016 08:09

Thanks for the sympathy all - wish I could nip over to Miami too sucha, but sadly not feasible. Tested this morning but got the whitest white BFN you've ever seen. That's it until July then Sad. Silver lining...at least I can make the most of the wedding we're going to today! Let's hope the witch at least waits until tomorrow. Have good weekends everyone x

Kathrino · 04/06/2016 10:00

SkyLucy, I have so much sympathy for you. DH is so excited about his work trip to Las Vegas in a couple of weeks and all I can think about is that it will mean another month without a baby. I've told him he needs to bring me back a very good present to make up for it.

Geeup, keeping everything crossed that the EPO helps this cycle. A year is far too long.

Kwick, will check that book out although not sure I can physically give up sugar! Surely that means wine too...?!!

Ni4444 · 04/06/2016 11:01

Hey ladies, work (and baby hangover!) was all too much in May so haven't been on MN much. 8weeks yesterday Smile and Wing I had 10 or 11 day luteal phase and I managed to get upduffed (cycle 7)

Moose I took EPO but never really saw EWCM...but did get upduffed. I figure the EPO makes a difference on the inside, even if we can't see it blind faith!

Fingers crossed after your good efforts Jem

SuchaJem · 04/06/2016 11:46

Sorry about bfn sky, hope you're alright and enjoy the wedding.

Good to see you ni glad all is well, have you got your first scan coming up?

kwick · 04/06/2016 11:47

katharino i have up alcohol (except for cooking) last September. I rarely miss it. You would think I would have loads of weight: no! But very nice to not have hangovers anymore.

mayago · 04/06/2016 16:48

I got upduffed the month I bought EPO, but I never did get around to taking it!

I think I am the grumpiest pregnant lady. Seriously. I can't snap back to being happy. Not that I'm not happy I'm pregnant; that bit is still good Smile Had an early scan today and baby looks like an alien!

Kathrino · 04/06/2016 16:53

Kwick, the hangovers is what makes me want to give up sometimes too. More than a glass and I definitely pay for it the next day.

May, sorry to hear about the grumpiness but glad all is progressing well. Must have been so cool to see baby on a scan!

Lovely to see you too Ni. 8 weeks already!!

EPO purchased for this cycle. Let's hope it does the trick!

5tardusty · 04/06/2016 18:42

Hello all, just catching up on the thread. Looks like i am ovulating at the moment, been having positive opks, temp drop and ewcm. Trying to dtd every day at the moment but missed yesterday.

I am so relieved that i was opking and checking CM as both FF and Ovibitch didnt't have me oving for another week! My pregnancy and post mc cycles have really messed up my stats. I'm basically just using them for record keeping at this stage. I will however keep opking until AF just in case my hormones are still haywire.

Sorry to hear that EPO hasn't agreed with you moose. Not completed a full cycle on it yet but it certainly has increased my cm.

Should be testing on or around the 17th though i may not manage a starky Star !!

Flashinthepan · 04/06/2016 18:56

Hello all. I think I've caught up. Good luck 5tardusty. Keeping my fingers crossed for you. I'm with you on the epic wait for af kwick. I'm 5 weeks post op and the witch is toying with me. I sense she may arrive but so far nothing concrete. I would have been 13 weeks on Monday and the hospital rang to confirm scan for next Tuesday which sucked. It just feels like everything comes with a sad lack of milestone. Maybe that won't go away until I get to what would have been my due date.
