RememberToSmile1980 · 16/05/2016 06:11

Hi ladies
I'm trying to conceive no. 2. My aim was to ttc from January of this year - however due to one thing or another (very stressful time at work!) I have not been giving it my all. I have now decided I need to focus on ttc no.2 as I am very conscious of the growing age gap! Please join for a friendly chat and to hopefully support each other!

Stats
Age - 35
Ttc - #2
CD - 21
DS - 3 years 10months!

Don't want to obsess about it! However I think it's inevitable!

Just packing to go away and feeling very grumpy that it had to be this weekend, rubbish timing!
I've eaten rubbish all week, had more coffee and beer than usual and forgotten my folic acid several times. Need to get back in the healthy zone next week.

Penguin13 · 30/06/2016 21:05

Sorry been a bit AWOL here. Been lurking but no time to post.

Aw snuggly sorry about the rubbish timing. Grump away, we understand.

Novinosincebambino · 30/06/2016 21:59

I agree with Penguin Snuggly and you can always grump to us, we understand.

One for the road? Wink Still think this will be your month.

I hope you get some sleep while you are away. Every cloud.

SnugglySnerd · 01/07/2016 06:56

Thank you. By the time the footie finished last night I was too tired to DTD so it'll have to keep until Sunday.
Taking 50 teenagers on a residential trip so probably won't get that much sleep but at least they won't wake me up at 6am. I hope.
Have a good weekend everyone!

Penguin13 · 01/07/2016 23:41

Good luck with the teenagers sherd. Feel a bit guilty now thinking back to school trips and all the scurrying round at all hours keeping our poor teachers on their toes Blush

So I've been and gone and done it. I have in a moment of madness splashed out on a clearblue digital ov test. The fancy kind. The kind that better be made out of gold it is so flipping expensive. At least it means u only have to use it in the mornings but I think it was partly superstition as I was using that kind when I got PG with DD1 Blush I definitely can't afford to use it every month so fingers crossed I won't be basically passing on a fiver a day for no reason it works!

Penguin13 · 02/07/2016 09:05

Argh. Just realised I can't use my CB this month as I was meant to start testing on day 8 cause it measures estrogen rising as well as LH. Don't really want to risk wasting it this month so will have to wait Angry

Novinosincebambino · 02/07/2016 09:36

Going to have to just monitor that CM instead penguin and keep the receipt! Grin

zahaziland · 02/07/2016 21:24

AF arrived today... Logically, I shouldn't be surprised, as AF cycles are still sorting themselves out post-breastfeeding, and we only dtd once in the fertile window, but still disappointing....
DP is travelling later in the month, so we might not keep to ttc this month either :(
It's still early days, so trying to remain positive!

jennymac31 · 03/07/2016 14:11

Afternoon ladies. Hope you're all well.
Haven't posted anything for a few days so thought I would say hi.
Am in the tww and it doesn't seem to be dragging as much as usual. I felt a bit nauseous yesterday and had flutterings in my stomach, which have continued today, but don't feel confident that this month will be the one. Got another 10 days before AF is due so we shall see.

Penguin13 · 03/07/2016 17:09

Sorry to hear that Zaha. I think many of us have experienced that feeling of disappointment even though we knew it wasn't the most likely. Hopefully next month will be your month.

Jenny fingers crossed for you. Glad 2ww is not dragging too much.

Def monitoring CM Novino and also have some Internet cheapie opks though have never got a position on one yet (not that I have used them consistently.)

Got my ovarian scan and blood test on Tues am so will be glad to get that out of the way - non TTC related but hoping to resolve the source of my chronic pain in my pelvic region.

Novinosincebambino · 03/07/2016 17:27

I feel for you zaha, I knew it was unlikely too but there was still a sliver of hope - especially when AF went awol for a week. Almost over and think my diet has been 70% chocolate.

Jenny you never know... Keep us posted?

Penguin I was just thinking about you as the 5th was ringing a bell. I hope it all goes well and it relieves the pain too, or at least they can formulate a plan to relieve it. I had blood test results in on Friday and have been given all clear that everything has gone from MC. I too shall be monitoring the CM and see how I get on. If it doesn't work then I'll be back on the CB opks so if you get lucky first then I'll buy it from you! Grin

BestBeastie · 03/07/2016 19:12

Oh how shite zaha - it always gets me disappointed even if I never really believe its worked this month. As others have said - onwards for the next one.
When are you testing Jenny? Or are you going to try not to. Last month I tested obsessively from cd27 to cd 31 (when my period finally came) - it was seriously annoying because the previous cycle had been 24 days, so I got pretty excited by the absence of AF. Anyway. On cd21 now (I think I ov'd on Tuesday/Wednesday though) and I don't want to go down that road this time - wondered what any of you were thinking....

BestBeastie · 03/07/2016 19:14

Tell you what - Penguin or any others - if I get lucky, I'll post my left over cb digital stack to you for free. Ha ha ha! It would be a very lucky digital ov kit indeed.

SnugglySnerd · 03/07/2016 21:00

I'm back! Feeling a bit sleep deprived but have had a nice weekend with a lovely bunch of kids.
I too am monitoring CM and think we've missed FW while I've been away but will try tonight just incase...

jennymac31 · 04/07/2016 00:20

Bestbeastie - af is due on 13th but am going to try not to test before then but I'm not confident that I'll be able to wait until then, especially as I have packs of frer tests in the bathroom cabinet. We shall see!

SendTheNextOneIn · 04/07/2016 07:18

Morning all!

Today is the day! The coil is coming out! Anyone had one removed before? Hoping it's not as uncomfortable as when it went in!

BestBeastie I'm in a FB ttc group and we had a lucky CB ov kit that did the rounds! Every woman who had it would get pregnant within a cycle or two, a couple of them didn't even use the thing! Then they'd just send it on to the next person Grin

Might have to go enquire after its whereabouts!

Penguin13 · 04/07/2016 13:25

Ooh exciting times send. Hope your appointment goes well and that it's not too uncomfortable.

Ha Best I was going to suggest the same about my ov sticks. Not convinced I will get the opportunity to pass them on though!

Novinosincebambino · 04/07/2016 13:30

send good luck today, I have no experience of the coil so hopefully someone else will tell you its fine? Think you need to find that ov kit!

jenny you need to keep us up to date, will be crossing fingers, toes and eyes for you.

Beastie same for you.

welcome back snuggly hope the cuddle with DH last night does the trick. I looked up CM and found some rather graphic images. I now know what to look out for but don't fancy my lunch anymore...

Penguin13 · 04/07/2016 13:42

OK so the logistics of doing opks on work days completely baffles me. Skipped using FMU but then forgot when got to work and didn't have a discreet container to sneak into the one loo anyway. Waited till lunch but forgot to hold off from drinking for long enough so test didn't even pick up normal low level of LH in wee as it was too dilute. Tell me I am not alone on finding this a massive faff?!!

Novinosincebambino · 04/07/2016 13:57

completely penguin I was getting funny looks for stealing the water dispenser plastic cups and then disappearing into the loo. The sanitary towels bin is now full of cups! My carbon footprint has gone to hell. I am relying on my power of deduction of what CM means this month. I have two chances: slim and none.

My life has just gone mental with Dad in hospital, tenant moved out of flat and left it a tip and work is nuts. I probably won't have time or energy to DTD never mind piss about with OPKs (no pun intended!)

SendTheNextOneIn · 04/07/2016 17:06

It's out! Here we go! 😆

I agree penguin, I've always found opks a complete faff so very quickly gave up using them. Don't think I ever managed to get a positive one. Too much bother to do them at work. I like the CB digital one that you just use in the morning, can't really afford one but might use my boots points if I get desperate.

Penguin13 · 04/07/2016 17:11

Novinos so sorry to hear your dad is not well. Sounds like a lot happening all at once too. Hope he is a better soon and that things calm down for you.

Work is pretty busy here too. Came back from my holiday to find nothing had been done so work had been piling up which has had a knock on effect. Struggling to catch up despite coming in extra early and taking work home a few nights which I hate doing. meanwhile my Account Manager has been 'working' from home looking after her new puppy Hmm

The other day DH was all 'i know we're DTD a lot with trying to have another baby in mind but I really want you enjoy it and to ahem get what you want in bed too' Blush and it was all I could do to not reply 'Honestly? What I really want is to get it done asap so I can sleeeeeep cause I'm so knackered!' Blush

Penguin13 · 04/07/2016 17:15

Ps. You did make me Grin at your furtive work toilet habits. I resorted to utilising the waitrose toilets. Yep I'm a classy POASer.

SnugglySnerd · 04/07/2016 18:08

Good luck Send!
I made the mistake of looking at those photos too Novino - gross! I think I am having ov pains so maybe today is the day after all. I didn't realise until I did some research last night that I don't necessarily ovulate on the same day every cycle!

Novinosincebambino · 04/07/2016 23:40

Ooft penguin that will be one refined classy baby if you're ovulating in waitrose! Better stock up on quinoa! Wink

I'm sure all will calm down for us all soon but God I hate it when you work your ass off to go on holiday and then come back and find its just sat on someone's desk till you return! They make you feel like you are deserting them forever as well. Anyway! Back to the subject, I am sure DH will find me extremely enticing passed out with drool on the pillow. Come and get it baby! (And if you can try not to wake me, that'd be super) Grin

How's it going snuggly? Getting 'the feelings'??
