Anyone done or doing Clomid/ovidrel/IUI?

Would love to hear from anyone taking this route ttc. I'm DOR and dh has low morphology but an amazing count and motility. So whenever af shows up in two weeks or so I'm starting Clomid, then doing a hcg trigger injection and then IUI. Hoping for success getting 2-3 good eggs to drop and putting the swimmers practically next to them!

Who knows star! Will call them again tomorrow afternoon if I haven't heard from them. I'm just finishing AF so next due around 23rd June. Hopefully if they can fit me in before and I get clomid I can get started then! So actually if they can't then next will be July not August.
Still feels like ages when you are waiting for it though!

That sounds really frustrating Maple so I really hope they do manage to find you a June appointment. Good luck calling them today!

Snow great news on your afc. How are you finding the clomid? It's such a strange emotional roller coaster isn't it...I have my fingers tightly crossed that it'll work for you.

Star No clomid for me at all as I'm actually going to be on gonal f, and should be starting that on cd5. Also, if I remember correctly my doctor said to refrain from dtd for a couple of days before the insemination but afterwards it's no holds barred. I think it was because he wanted a bigger sample but it's now been a while so will check with him when AF next rocks up. I hope AF arrives on Sunday for you (well preferably a surprise bfp, but if not an on-time AF)

Oh Star I just remembered you're doing the timed intercourse so dtd continually from the trigger shot makes more sense!

genghis the Clomid is ok ish so far. I'm having a few niggly cramps today so I feel like it's kicking in. I also felt like bursting into tears three times today already and I've only been up an hour. What's with that?!?? Does it get worse?!? I'm going to be a gibbering wreck by Sunday! Going back for an ultrasound on day 9 to see what the deal is, as I usually ovulate day 11/12 and they want to check in case I surge early in which case they'll have me trigger day 10 and come in for IUI day 11/12. But he's hoping the Clomid will encourage the follies to stay put and mature a little longer til at least day 12-14. We will see. I'm not a raging biatch at least (yet) I just feel like I might lose it if I see a sad little puppy picture or something.
How's everyone else?

Good luck with the scan today Snow! And sending lots of sympathy for your side effects..I hope they calm down as your body gets used to the clomid. I'd post the flowers emoticon but don't want to start you off again Grin

No news from me - cd 11 and absolutely nothing to report.

Hey ladies, I'm off for my baseline scan this morning. Period came one day early on Saturday so I'm now cd4. Have taken 2 Clomid pills so far - haven't taken today's yet as I'm taking them I the evenings as read that it helps if you sleep through the side effects. No side effects so far though, we'll see.

Snow, how are you doing? Hope your emotions settled down a bit. What cd are you now? When are you triggering? Sorry for all the questions! They're going to teach me how to take the trigger today and my partner is working away so can't come - I'd been hoping I could just shut my eyes for that bit and he could do it!

Thanks Genghis, that makes sense with iui but I can't decide between every day and eod with timed intercourse. It's so long and boring this rotten journey isn't it?! Hope you get lucky this cycle and never experience the gonal f.

Good luck with the scan star! I read that about clomid too so I think I'll be taking mine before bed too. Oh no! I hope the trigger is easy... I think you just have to not hesitate and do it.. Easier said than done I'm sure! Could you ask the nurse about when they recommend you dtd?

How did the scan on Sunday go snow? Hope you're feeling better now and not too emotional?!

Good luck with your scan this morning Star. I see your problem, and having googled it, no wonder you're confused as there doesn't seem to be consistent advice. Aargh! I even saw some people suggesting 12 hours after the trigger, then 36 hours and then the day after that. I'd just ask your doctor as well..

Maple did you get a call back in the end for your appointment?

I hope all is going well with you Snow?

Hi all, my scan went well I'm back there today for a follow up. It looks like there's at least 2 good sized follicles, maybe another two will be mature today too. If so I'll trigger tonight and have the IUI on Thursday morning! Pretty exciting. The Clomid effects wore off. I just feel soreness around my ovaries, like I can actually feel the larger follicles on my left ovary as it feels like a mild stitch type feeling! Hopefully my dr will be happy to go ahead today. More than 4 follies might mean he nays the IUI as the risk of high order multiples is too high. We've already dtd twice within the potential window so oops. One or two babies would be fine. 3-4 or more is a bit more daunting.

Oh sounds good snow! Good luck with the trigger - do they show you how to do it??

I have finally got my appointment!! Not until 1st July though which means I wouldn't start clomid till my next cycle after that which would be about 24th July.

A while to wait but glad I have my appointment in and something to work towards!

I've got one perfect 19mm follicle, one smaller at 14.5mm and that's it 😝 The others are all too small to mature. Once I get my blood work results I'll know when I can trigger tonight or tomortow. I'm hoping in the next 48hrs both will grow well so I have two good chances. Eek!

Ooh excellent snow that you have two nice sized follicles. Interesting that your doctor's cut off is 4 follicles, mine is 2! Good luck for the next 48hrs - hope they are both nice and big by Thursday.

Maple, excellent you have your appointment! It's a little way off and I'm not going to say it'll fly by, but it really is good to have a plan and a date to focus on.

Genghis, thanks for the support!

Scan went fine this morning. No big follicles, but that's to be expected at this stage. Back in on Monday which will be day 10 and that's when they'll show me how to use the trigger, which is perfect as my partner will be around then.

Hooray for getting an appointment Maple! It's frustrating that you'll have to wait until July but at least you have a date now (little consolation when you just want to start tomorrow but better than nothing!)

Great news about your follicles Snow..I can't believe it's all go! Good luck triggering. I hope you have lots of things organised to try and take your mind off the 2ww..

Glad your scan went well Star, and good that they'll show you how to trigger when your partner is around. I'll be stabbing myself for the gonal f as well, so lucky I'm not scared of needles :)

Thanks star and genghis I know it won't go quick enough but I have little things to keep me going each week - acupuncture, hen dos, a weekend break etc so hope they keep my mind of things!

Sending follicle growing vibes to you snow!!

Star glad you get to show you how to trigger with your partner there! I would want the same! Did you get to ask about when to dtd?

Trigger is done (late last night) and IUI is first thing tomorrow morning. So paranoid I'll ovulate early and the IUI will miss the egg! Wish I had more than the one big follicle, as the smaller one may or may not grow to 16mm+ by Thursday. I feel a lot more "activity" in my ovaries today, like they're swelling or something. Let's hope dh's swimmers catch the egg tomorrow! I'd love it to work first time. Suspect it'll take more than this to get a baby though 😖😝😕

How exciting snow, good luck for tomorrow! And don't worry about there only being one, as they always say: it only takes one! You've got a good chance of it working. I'm trying to see this treatment as a block of three cycles, but I know I'm going to be sooo disappointed if it doesn't work first time.

Holy mackerel the cramps and pukey feeling post-hcg trigger are bad! Hoping all is well for IUI in the morning! I'm not going to complain but this isn't a very pleasant experience lol. A little taster of early pregnancy perhaps?! Plus I had to take a 2.5hr nap today. They warned me I'd feel bad but I'm happy I am, it means everything is working! Hoping my little follicles get a nice boost ready for meeting the swimmers tomorrow 😄

Heading over there in an hour! My dh is nervous that he won't be able to produce the goods 😜 I really hope he can. They have a wide selection of interesting websites and DVDs he can choose lol. Or I can go in with him. But weirdly I think he'd do better without me there. Then we wait an hour for them to wash and prep the goods. Praying for over 5 million post wash with decent motility. Then it's feet in stirrups time for me! I had such cramping yesterday in scared I missed ovulation. Hopefully not! They said if I had to take pain relief to make sure it didn't contain ibuprofen or aspirin. Only acetaminophen (paracetamol). The others mess with implantation and lining. I braved through it as I don't want to risk anything at this late stage but I won't lie, it was painful at times. If ovulation happens later today (as predicted by the dr) it'll be just as painful, maybe more so as the follies have clearly been growing! Once the goods are deposited, they lay me with butt raised on the bed for 20-30 minutes to chill (nap! I hardly slept last night from excitement!) and then I can go on my merry way. I'm really excited but also really trying to fight the feeling that it's not going to work. Positive mental attitude is tough! I'll let you know when I've got all the bun making ingredients ready in the oven!
