Original relaxed thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2537105-relaxed-ttc-feb-march-april-2016

Hi all, thought I would start a new thread before we capped the earlier one. Here's hoping for more laid back BFPs and a bit of OT chat.

Everyone welcome, waiting to try, TTC, not preventing, being hopeful, and trying not to flip the fck out squinting at lines on sticks.

Welcome blondie glad you came over!

Blondie87 · 08/04/2016 14:56

Thanks!

wispaxmas · 08/04/2016 16:59

Sooz I'd say that's positive, stronger than any line I ever got last time around anyway!

Evans, unusually heavy AF wouldn't be implantation as that would be spotting, but heavy bleeds can mean MC... In which case your cycle might be longer this time if it had to settle after a mc.. Hopefully not, but just a thought.

Welcome to all the new people!! New thread obviously brings an influx of new people, which is great! Especially as I only joined the last thread fairly late into the game!

I'm soooo anti symptom spotting. Drove me nuts last time- any symptom of early pregnancy would be just as common before AF even if you've never had it before and I will repeat this to everyone who agonises over sore boobs and bloating in the TWW!

Sunny I recovered much quicker from the section than I was expecting but think that was partially as we were in hospital for 8 nights after DD was born as she was loosing too much weight but it meant that I couldn't do anything other than rest which I think really benefited my recovery.

We were supposed to be waiting until May time to start too (avoid Christmas EDD) but it's so hard when you are getting broody! 4 people at my work have announced they are expecting in the past week (!) and one of my best friends is due any day...makes it hard not to just want to get on with it!!

Managed to sneak away from work early to get DD from nursery and start the weekend early! Wine

SunnyDays1987 · 08/04/2016 18:22

wispa I'm glad you're a realist too! I find the 'Am I pregnant' threads really frustrating, but that's probably just from the perspective of being pregnant once before and knowing that you don't really feel pregnant before you can even test!

Jolly how did you find being on a postnatal ward? I absolutely hated it. I begged to go home after 2 days but I'd been on the wards for about a week by that point in total and was so so sick of the noise and just wanted my own bed. I did go home and start frantically sorting the house out though which I think set me back a bit. I'd lost a lot of blood so should really have been resting! Wow that's a lot of pregnant people! High five to the wine. I'd really miss my red if I was pregnant again!

BertieBotts · 08/04/2016 18:48

Yep if you look at the graphs on www.countdowntopregnancy.com, you'll see that most of the symptoms experienced by pregnant women are experienced by non pregnant women too, the gap between them is always about 1-2%, so it's really difficult to put anything down to pregnancy as it could just be premenstrual!

I do keep looking at those charts - but it's fun for me at the moment. If it stops being fun I'll get more strict with myself!

EvansAndThePrince · 08/04/2016 18:54

Thanks for talking me down. I hadn't thought of a miscarriage, how long would it usually be till I got a period if that's the case? Hope not too but there's no point ignoring possibilities!

Just to add I know I've not talked to anyone else, I'm rushed off my feet so just scanned for my name, will come back and say hello properly soon, promise!

SunnyDays1987 · 08/04/2016 19:15

Evans my sister thinks she might have had a very early miscarriage and then she got her BFP the month later but it was about a week after she expected AF to arrive. She was testing negatively before that. Probably depends how quick your body is to regulate I guess. Hopefully you just ovulated later though and you'll be fine.

Bertie it's true, it's really hard to tell. I was very bloated, probably more so than usual but I've had other cycles with random bloating too. I spotted a bit too but also do that other cycles too. Such a hard game!

EvansAndThePrince · 08/04/2016 21:28

Thanks for replying sunny Smile

SoozC · 09/04/2016 10:18

Fingers crossed for you, Evans.

Thanks Wispa, got another similar positive-looking opk yesterday and today a 0.3 degree C rise. So I'm wondering if I ovulated yesterday. Oh well, I don't want to dwell on it anymore or I'll get frustrated!!

wispaxmas · 09/04/2016 13:03

Could be, sooz, see if it stays up a few days! My temp has varied about that much so far this cycle, but my cover lines have generally been about 35.95 degrees and it hasn't gone above that yet. What was your cover line last cycle? I think they're generally pretty consistent cycle to cycle (mine have been, anyway).

My partner works a way a lot do we are struggling to find another month soon to try and I want to cry! Shock

jpeg28 · 09/04/2016 13:36

Can I join??

Age: 28
TTC #1
Had MC 12/3/16

Really looking for a relaxed way of TTC... Don't want to obsess over it (even though that's really hard!)
Finally got a hcg level of 0 since MC so now hoping my cycles will return to normal soon.

TheresaMarie55 · 09/04/2016 13:46

Coming off now 😁, will most definitely have completely finished af by tomorrow. I'm gonna make sure me and hubby dtd at least once every other day from next Saturday for that week. X

TryingToStayRational · 09/04/2016 14:12

Awww rylea you poor thing! Flowers

Cramping might not be a bad sign - could it be implantation? Either way it must be hard for you with your partner being away like that and I'm sure you have your hands full with your DD too. Hope you soon feel better and know you're not alone - I'm sure there are other people in your situation with OHs away for work. And even those of us who live with our DP aren't all at it like rabbits with perfectly timed precision, I can assure you!

Hope you soon feel better and manage to have some time with your DP soon.

ButtonTum · 09/04/2016 20:32

Hi everyone, I'm back in from an early posting in the old thread. Welcome newcomers. About me:

Age-33 (DH 34)
TTC #1
Cycle #1

Just finished AF this week so pretty excited now! Looks like lots of us in the same boat. Hope this is a lucky one for everyone Smile

wispaxmas · 09/04/2016 20:55

rylea, my H works away a lot, too, I'm planning to insist that he not go during the fertile week next month Grin

OP posts:
wispaxmas · 09/04/2016 20:58

jpeg, sorry about the m/c - as for being relaxed I'm really hoping the thread stays that way. I refuse to symptom spot and squint at shadows on tests and obsessively track CM (grim). TTC can so quickly take over your life if you let it.

OP posts:
SoozC · 09/04/2016 22:19

Sorry to hear you had a mc, jpeg :(

Wispa my cover line is about 35.9 so a definite rise to 36.3. Very neg opk today. Not stressing though. My first month ttc I was in a state of high alert on all symptoms! Last month (cycle 2) I was so laid back and didn't stress at all and I can feel this month will be the same. At 34 and with DP of 47, I'm not expecting anything to occur naturally.

Blink1982 · 10/04/2016 01:12

Evening all 😀 we've decided it's about time for number two. Dp is ready to straight away but me, with my forward planning has chose to avoid april and start in may. Ds has a birthday 7th Jan so want to avoid all the Christmas and January present buying.

So this month and last I've just tracked and will be doing opk to make sure I know what's going on in there.

34
Ttc #2
Cycle #2 should start tomorrow according to Ms Ovia.

SunnyDays1987 · 10/04/2016 08:11

Sorry for the MC jpeg

How old is DS Blink?

Does anyone else get EWCM for quite a few days after OV?! I get it every cycle for some reason. I know I do OV because I have a DS. Bit weird?!

Blink1982 · 10/04/2016 09:42

He was three in jan. I initially wanted to wait til he was four, but thought well if we do it now he'll be four when the baby arrives 😀

Sienna9522 · 10/04/2016 09:55

Hi,

I'm joining from the old thread.

25
DP - 28
TTC #1
Cycle 1

I think I ovulated on the Monday or Tuesday just gone, DTD almost everyday of the fertile week but I've come down with an awful bout of flu on Thursday, which has left me bed ridden for the past few days Sad. Hope this doesn't have an effect on the possibility of getting pregnant this month.

Welcome newcomers and good luck with your TTC journey Smile

EvansAndThePrince · 10/04/2016 10:51

Hi new people!
Sunny I do, seemed to go on forever last month.
I've still not got AF, had some spotting yesterday and today had nothing until I went to the loo (sorry!) and there was some brown sort of gunky stuff.

Not sure what to think!

hopefulmama1 · 10/04/2016 11:21

Can I join in?

I hear ya Ecky, my mc knocked me for six though! I hate the 'just relax' advice because even though I know it makes sense I just can't bring myself to unwind!!!!! Argh lol

Although this really helped me so I thought I would share. Got loads of super eggy/womby foods so this is my aim for the next few months to jump on the bandwagon again.
