Original relaxed thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2537105-relaxed-ttc-feb-march-april-2016

Hi all, thought I would start a new thread before we capped the earlier one. Here's hoping for more laid back BFPs and a bit of OT chat.

Everyone welcome, waiting to try, TTC, not preventing, being hopeful, and trying not to flip the fck out squinting at lines on sticks.

I can see something on the first picture on your last post Theresa! Get a FRER on Friday and you should have a clear line I think!

TheresaMarie55 · 25/05/2016 06:29

I'm going to, I can definitely see the line, it looks exactly the same as the test I did with my second daughter when I was around 12dpo. Same test as well. X

Readytosettle · 25/05/2016 07:13

So I'm now cd30, no sign of AF. Feeling nauseous & wet cm. Also constipated which quite often happens at start of AF & I guess is likely to make me feel nauseous....argh. Really want to test!

Readytosettle · 25/05/2016 07:14

I can see a line on the first pic Theresa Smile

wispaxmas · 25/05/2016 07:22

BFN for me today. I don't think we caught ovulation day because i dithered about actually starting ttc. Im going to try and be more laid back next month!! I used a clearblue one so i trust that more than the cheapies.

twocatsandatoddler · 25/05/2016 08:06

Neon you're not out until AF comes! I got BFNs for days before BFP shows up.

Readytosettle · 25/05/2016 08:41

OMG...I can't believe this is happening already!!

SunnyDays1987 · 25/05/2016 08:58

twocatsandatoddler · 25/05/2016 09:00

Congrats ready!!!

neonrainbow · 25/05/2016 09:01

Congratulations readytosettle !!

Readytosettle · 25/05/2016 09:17

Just for the record I also tried a Poundland one last night and got a BFN.....highly recommend checking the sensitivity on these things. Poundland was 25mlu whereas this was Sainsbury's at 15mlu.

Still in shock that this has happened first cycle.

Eva30 · 25/05/2016 09:26

readytosettle that's one of the strongest BFPs I've ever seen - congratulations!!!
All you lucky ones with BFPs give us some tips please? I'm on CD8 now. Did you DTD every day in FW? Or every other day? Or every other day from CD10 to CD21?! DH will be shattered haha!! Grin

Readytosettle · 25/05/2016 09:30

I'm (loosely) aiming for a girl this time so we only DTD a couple of times & I avoided my estimated ov date. I'll be happy with either but thought I'd give the girls half a chance this time (we were DTD'ing pretty much daily when I got of with my DS!)

twocatsandatoddler · 25/05/2016 09:34

eva - we dtd on 4 of the 6 days Ovia said were my fertile window. Last time we dtd almost every night in the fertile week. Didn't bother trying to track ovulation but then I have a very regular cycle so it wasn't hard to guess approximately when it would happen. Both times I conceived first time so obviously timed it right! I think even if you get your dates right though, there's about a 1 in 3 chance of it succeeding as some fertilised eggs don't make it to implantation so I think I just happened to get lucky twice!

Readytosettle · 25/05/2016 09:55

So now I'm starting to worry about the copious amounts of alcohol I consumed at the weekend....I was a hen do, drinking for 24hrs solid. Amaretto, Prosecco, Jaegerbombs, kir royals....you get the picture. I wasn't legless, but can drink shed loads before that happened so my guess would be somewhere around 20 drinks.

I just googled and got the good old Daily Mail with a scary article about FASD if you drink in the first 3-6 weeks of pg....someone reassure me please!

wispaxmas · 25/05/2016 10:35

That's utter tosh, ready, the embryo doesn't even implant until 6-12dpo and there's no placenta for anything to pass through until at LEAST 5 weeks.

wispaxmas · 25/05/2016 10:36

Oh, but massive congratulations!!!

OP posts:
wispaxmas · 25/05/2016 10:37

Eva, we only DTD 2 and 3 days before ovulation. DH works in Paris during the week, so we don't have loads of chances.
