Original relaxed thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2537105-relaxed-ttc-feb-march-april-2016

Hi all, thought I would start a new thread before we capped the earlier one. Here's hoping for more laid back BFPs and a bit of OT chat.

Everyone welcome, waiting to try, TTC, not preventing, being hopeful, and trying not to flip the fck out squinting at lines on sticks.

Still nothing here. Spotting yesterday and the slightest brown tinge to today's discharge.

TheresaMarie55 · 11/04/2016 20:03

Ovia is saying I'm five days from the fertile window. Think it would be best to dtd every other day from now until I'm past the fertile window, can't do any harm! Just hope we both have the energy lol! X

ButtonTum · 11/04/2016 20:10

jpeg and theresa I'll be a 4th may tester too -- if I can hold out that long. May the 4th be with you (argh sorry)!

TheresaMarie55 · 11/04/2016 20:35

Omg buttontum I hadn't even realised 😂 I'm definitely gonna have to wait until then to test now, hubby will find it hilarious x

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 11/04/2016 23:02

According to Ovia I'll be entering the fertile window tomorrow so I'm getting my last decent night of sleep before I start stressing myself out tomorrow Grin
Good luck to everyone waiting and about about to enter the window!

TheresaMarie55 · 12/04/2016 07:47

Good luckily Rosie, try not to stress to much!

My plan to start dtd every other day has already been scuppered. Youngest took ages to get to sleep last night and then was up quite a few times in the night so it just didn't happen x

Fuzyfelt23 · 12/04/2016 08:10

I'm TTC. 1 st cycle and have 5 days until AF. It's exciting, nerve wracking and petrifying all at the same time, I'm 26 and on anti depressants so hoping I can withstand the stress.

HighHopes16 · 12/04/2016 09:24

5 days late & still no sign of AF! I feel 'due on' though (tired, miserable, achey) so don't think we have been lucky this cycle.
Is anybody due to test in the next couple of days??

SunnyDays1987 · 12/04/2016 09:55

Anyone who's waiting to start trying feeling like it's ages away?! Time is going really fast but I feel like it's so so long off!

Theresa I'm wondering how easy it's going to be to be bothered to DTD every other day. I'm tired thinking about it!!!

wispaxmas · 12/04/2016 09:57

This Ovia app sounds downright intrusive, telling you what to do and when to do it Grin

Good luck all you may the 4th testers. If you do get BFPs I hope none of your babies look like yoda. Hah.

So you know how I said OPKs are the devil? There was a recent offer on the clear blue advanced ones with the flashing and static happy faces and I bought them on a whim. We aren't even trying this month, but wanted to see what they were like.

Anyways, I started them on CD9 (you have to start 20 days before expected AF) and had blank circles for a couple days and today on CD12 I had a flashing smiley face! Interesting. I never got a positive OPK on the cheap dip sticks, so will be very interested to see if in a couple days the smiley face stops flashing - I will be really surprised if it does.

SunnyDays1987 · 12/04/2016 10:10

Hahah wispa a possible OPK convert then! When are you starting to try?

chelle792 · 12/04/2016 10:48

Hey,

Just wondering if I can join your thread?

I got pregnant in June last year and miscarried at 11.5 weeks in Aug. My DH is finally ready to "not actively ttc" but has said to take my vitamins.

I don't want to get obsessed with ttc and just want to go with the flow. Equally, not sure whether I want to join the ttc after mc thread as I want this pregnancy to start fresh rather than be tinged with sadness.

I don't like ovulation tests and just want to live my life and have lots of unprotected sex with my shiny new husband of 5 months! Blush Grin can't believe the wedding was 5 months ago!

SunnyDays1987 · 12/04/2016 12:08

Hi chelle sorry to hear about your mc, that must have been awful at that stage. Hope you manage to start afresh with it all. What CD are you on? Congrats on the wedding too!

Adventuregame · 12/04/2016 12:16

Chelle same here re mc at 12 weeks and not wanting to join the ttc after mc thread !!

BertieBotts · 12/04/2016 12:35

I caved this morning and did a test because of crap night's sleep as excessively thirsty and boobs too sore to sleep on front. But I flooded the test. Second one was also inconclusive and I think I have a bad batch. Just cheap Chinese made tests bought on amazon.

I have been out to buy a German made one and am now waiting for my bladder to refill...

Hi chelle! Sounds like the right thread for you :) We haven't done any ovulation testing etc.

SunnyDays1987 · 12/04/2016 13:12

Eeek fingers crossed Bertie!! Pee in a cup and dip with the next one!

Poshpiggy123 · 12/04/2016 13:17

Hi guys!

this is my first time posting on mumsnet so please be gentle with me!

I'm 31, been married for coming close to 6 years and we have just started trying for baby number one!

Feel very excited - but nervous too! Its been a road getting to this stage, and i'm determined to have a relaxed/non obsessional approach to all this!! OH is a bit freaked about by the baby world, so want it to be as non-scary and natural as possible!

i do have a question though - sorry if this is TMI but basically my cycles are within 30-35 days but can vary, the last 2 months have been 30 days but was longer before. I think we might have missed our "fertile window" /ovulation day by up to a week? my period is due at the end of the week.... what do people think? would this month count or should i not get my hopes up?

Also any advice re: things to avoid (have already cut my morning ritual of a strong americano coffee - sob sob sob)

SunnyDays1987 · 12/04/2016 13:28

Hi poshpiggy just DTD as often as you can, and more so around when you think you're fertile. Best way to make sure you don't miss it!

I wouldn't give up anything, unless you smoke. A doctor even said to me to don't give up the odd glass of wine until you know for sure you're pregnant!

Adventuregame · 12/04/2016 14:21

poshpiggy My cycles vary between 35-42 days and unless you can tell by visual signs (ie cervical mucus) then it's tricky to know when you ovulate. It should be about 2 weeks before you are due on, hence the '2 week wait'. I have been using opks to help at least know when to dtd more often. If you don't want to go down the opk route then maybe just start logging AF cycles on an app - I can recommend Period Tracker Lite - free and just very useful in getting to know/predict your cycle length.

chelle792 · 12/04/2016 14:33

I don't know what cycle day I'm on but my app says ovulation on Thursday, sunny

My cycle is normally about 26/27 days but last month was 32 weirdly! I reckon I'll start to see some cm in the next day or so

SunnyDays1987 · 12/04/2016 15:03

I use Period Tracker Lite too adventure Temping is great for letting you know once you've OVed but it stops the relaxed nature of everything.

26/27 days isn't long at all is it chelle! Mine is 32-36 so seems ages to be able to wait every month really. Did it take you long to conceive last time?

SunnyDays1987 · 12/04/2016 15:03

Very rarely at the 32 though I should say, usually around 35 days!

chelle792 · 12/04/2016 15:13

Yeh, 26 days is really short. I conceived first month of trying last time. I don't ovulate every month though - I just knew it was an ovulation month so prewarned dh last time Grin

BertieBotts · 12/04/2016 15:36

OK you can't see it on this picture (and this was the best I could get) because it really is that ridiculously faint, but I have a squinter!

I will try again in a couple of days and hopefully it's stronger :) I'm only due today - I had thought that it would be really clear on the day of the missed period, but perhaps not? Confused I'm a bit unsure what to think TBH.

Chelle how come you don't OV every month if you don't mind me asking!!

Oooh Bertie I think I can see it! Time to buy a FRER?!
