Original relaxed thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2537105-relaxed-ttc-feb-march-april-2016

Hi all, thought I would start a new thread before we capped the earlier one. Here's hoping for more laid back BFPs and a bit of OT chat.

Everyone welcome, waiting to try, TTC, not preventing, being hopeful, and trying not to flip the fck out squinting at lines on sticks.

Oh that's interesting! I always though they said the pregnancy hormone is greater in your first wee of the day? I'm getting on a train at 10am tomorrow so mines going to have to be first thing. If I get a BFN & AF doesn't show up, I'll probably do another test when I'm back home on Sunday just to make sure!

SunnyDays1987 · 07/04/2016 16:26

Yeah they do usually say morning because you've not drunk or wee'd as much in the night!

How are you feeling about testing?

MrsMarsch · 07/04/2016 16:42

Hi ladies- just went and bought another test, £11 for a clearblue! Yikes! But so worth it because (fingers crossed) it looks like a BFP! Xxx

BertieBotts · 07/04/2016 16:53

Aah how exciting MrsM :o

SunnyDays1987 · 07/04/2016 17:47

Oooh picture Mrs?!

jollytimes · 07/04/2016 18:41

Hi can I join you ladies? I've been lurking for a while now on the other thread while DH and I were talking about ttc #2 but now we're going for it i thought I'd take the plunge and join!

Congrats Mrs! So exciting to already have a BFP on this new thread!

A bit about me...DD is 18months, had wanted #2 sooner but, decided to wait to ttc#2 until I'd been back at work long enough to get the company may pay again...I've now been back long enough (just) so we decided to just go for it and see what happens! Trying to stay relaxed as with DD I got pregnant first cycle but finding the tww is going sooo slowly! First cycle off the pill but and on CD29 so just POAS and BFN but last time I didn't get a positive test on a FRER til CD32 so fingers crossed I'm still in with a chance!
Good luck POAS in the morning Highhopes!

wispaxmas · 07/04/2016 19:08

sunny, last time I didn't take anything extra, but surely fruit juice can't make a huge difference, haha. Who knows, though, they say pineapple core helps bring on labour, maybe there's something in pineapple juice that helps you get pregnant? Can't hurt, though Grin

Welcome, jolly! I think an age gap of at least 2-1/2 years is preferable, so definitely think you're better off trying now! I know we are starting next cycle, so could have a 2 yr 8 month gap, but even that scares me ShockWinkWineWineWineWineWine

twocatsandatoddler · 07/04/2016 19:32

Sunny he's almost 16 months. So would just over 2 year age gap if we conceive immediately. Hopefully that's a manageable gap? Struggling to imagine having another one to look after at this stage!

twocatsandatoddler · 07/04/2016 19:38

Wispaxmas I'm TTC after next AF too, at pretty much same time as you.

wispaxmas · 07/04/2016 19:49

Woo, twocats, FX for a couple bfps soon!

I can't believe how broody I'm getting as it gets close to May, though, it was very much a head over heart decision to start TTC again, and yet I find myself already thinking like I'm pregnant. Booked our hotel for my cousins wedding in October and went 'pooh, they have an antenatal massage in the spa!' Grin

twocatsandatoddler · 07/04/2016 19:58

wispa I'm definitely getting broody! We chose May to TTC because DS was born in December so we're deliberately avoiding an early January birthday for DC2 as would all be too much with Christmas and NY in between - but a big part of me just wants to start right away and try this month!

BakerJ · 07/04/2016 20:13

Hi Ladies,

Can I join too? DH and I have decided to start TTC#1 in May.
I'm also getting so broody now that May is getting closer though so just hoping my cycle settles quickly after stopping the pill in March!

SunnyDays1987 · 07/04/2016 21:09

wispa it's something to do with grapefruit helping with EWCM and pineapple helping with implantation. Sure it's a load of old crap though!!

twocats my DS is 15 months so if we conceive straight away we would have just over 2 years too. Avoiding this month because it's his birthday early January. I don't know if the age gap is manageable or not really. Part of me thinks it's crazy and I'm seriously dreading going back to the awful sleep deprivation with a toddler in tow!!!

Those of you who've been pregnant before, did you enjoy it?!

Welcome to everyone who has joined today!

Lykke1000 · 07/04/2016 21:27

Hello Mums-To-Be!

My story:
age:34
ttc #1
cycle 2

I'm quite new to all this, so I have a question:
l ovulated cd16 (used test strips) and had sex cd17
4days later (5th Apr) it started spotting (no pain or cramps) for a few hours. I thought it was AF. I also had food cravings since (nothing weird, just normal food, chocolate etc).
I have absolutely no other symptoms - ok breast are slightly sore, but nothing unusual. Who has experienced similar symptoms? What was the end result?
Thanks!

jollytimes · 07/04/2016 21:42

Sounds like a few of us ttc #2 are aiming for a similar age gap somewhere around the 2-2.5yrs, maybe we're all mad or have just forgotten what the sleep deprivation is like!

Sunny I really enjoyed being pregnant last time, think it helped that I had a pretty straightforward pregnancy (until DD surprised us with a 5week early arrival) and was lucky not to suffer from too much sickness or anything. . I'm actually looking forward to being pregnant again although think it will be much harder with a toddler in tow! Did you enjoy being pregnant with your DD?

jollytimes · 07/04/2016 21:46

Welcome Lykee...I had spotting which I think must have been implantation with my DD and got a BFP so fingers crossed for you!

TheresaMarie55 · 07/04/2016 22:01

There is just under 2 years between mine (dd2 was born 11 days before dd1 second birthday) . I've found the gap lovely, comes with its challenges but I think any do. Will have just over a two year gap if we conceive quickly this time. X

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 07/04/2016 22:51

Hi everyone, can I join you?
DP and I have decided to start ttc for no.1 this month but we're not in any rush so I figure this is a good place to be!

I had the copper coil removed in January after a year with it and everything's settled so I'm hoping it happens soon as I'm so broody it hurts...

SpaceDinosaur · 08/04/2016 01:54

Hi
I'm Space
Am 32
DH and I have been having unprotected sex / trying for a baby / ttc since November.
This is for baby #1

We aren't pg. I feel like my 20's paranoia was a total bloody lie.

SunnyDays1987 · 08/04/2016 07:12

Lykke I think 4dpo is too early for implantation bleeding but I might be wrong. Good luck!

Jolly wow 5 weeks early! Do you know why? Will you be monitored more this time? My DS was 4 weeks early but I had pre eclampsia so I was induced. Glad you enjoyed pregnancy, I hated it largely! I'm really hoping to have a different experience this time because I was so miserable last time! It's been a big big decision to put myself through it again!

Does sound like there are a few of us going for the same ish age gap. Hopefully we can all support each other when we are thinking how the hell do we manage two!! Glad the age gap wasn't too bad for you thought Theresa, that's reassuring!

Welcome to the new people again. Definitely some broody ladies on this thread! Let's hope we manage to all stay relaxed!!!

SunnyDays1987 · 08/04/2016 07:13

Space I know what you mean about the paranoia being a lie! I was on the pill for about 11 years and I panicked a few times I might be pregnant. In reality it took me 5 months to have a normal period when I came off the pill so missing one was never ever going to get me pregnant!

HighHopes16 · 08/04/2016 07:49

Morning all, well it's a BFN for me this morning :(
It might be too early (due AF yesterday) so will test again next week if AF hasn't come along.
I totally know what you mean about the paranoia ! It's drilled into us in sex ed that if you have unprotected sex you will get pregnant - but I've had loads in the last few months and I'm still just fat lol

jollytimes · 08/04/2016 08:03

Sorry to hear it's a BFN Highhopes fingers crossed its just too early for you and AF doesn't show up over the weekend.

Sunny not sure why she arrived early my waters just broke and I started going into labour, she was breech so had a EMCS so think it's likely I'll be monitored more this time. All a bit of a shock at the time! PE must have been scary for you, I assume you'll be monitored closely again this time too and hopefully you'll be able to enjoy it more this time?

jennymac31 · 08/04/2016 08:36

I'm joining from other thread.

Age; 36
TTC; #2
DD; 2 (going to be 3 on Monday)
Cycle; 1 (i think)

Was going to hold off ttc until may/june time (as might be made redundant) but am feeling so broody & we're going on holiday next week so may start trying then.
