Taking it easy for a few days & getting DH doing everything for you sounds like a good idea Brenna. I hope you feel better soon, hang in there little Brenna bean!

InsufficientlyCaffeinated · 25/04/2016 09:01

Amy I read that opks can detect pg hormone but not as well as a hpt so you need more hcg for a positive on an opk than you do for a hpt to show positive. How many dpo are you?

AmyB1986 · 25/04/2016 09:04

Ic I found out I was pg with an opk last time but this is a digi dual hormone one so I'm not sure if these pic it up like the IC strips. Fertility friend is saying I'm 11dpo by temps but by opk I'm 8dpo. DH has gone out else I would ask him for one of the hpts, maybe I'll wait a few days and use a frer when af is actually due. I don't know why I have to pee on things, I'm frustrated myself.

Brenna24 · 25/04/2016 10:00

Everything crossed for you Amy. I'd wait a few days and do a FRER (but I am crazy and the master of self control).

OP posts:
AmyB1986 · 25/04/2016 10:21

Brenna you are the master of self control!

I'm going to wait it out, I've got that stock of hpts and stuck them in the boot of my car so I can't just pick one out for fmu! I'm sure I'm not pg, having a lot of cramping at the minute like af is going to come, this happens every month. Had that little bit of pink spotting when I wiped two days ago, sure that came from my bladder though. Had nothing since.

Back to work this afternoon after two weeks off! Dreading it Sad

redstrawberries101 · 25/04/2016 19:22

No probs Amy! I would wait it out as the most disappointing thing for me is to see a bfn. Id rather just see AF if it's not meant to be. It's like getting your hopes up and then coming crashing down. Whereas testing when you are quite sure you are preg and then seeing the preg sign is just a completely different feeling Smile

I'm talking as if I've tested loads but I've only really tested and got a bfn maybe two or three times when we weren't TTC a few years ago and we hadn't used anything and AF was annoyingly late. Apart from that I tested and got my BFP and then tested to check preg hormones had all gone.

Glad the spotting stopped Brenna and yes do take it easy. Hopefully the little bean will be ok - they say that they are super resilient Smile

LuckyinOctober · 25/04/2016 20:07

So I'm now puzzled. AF appears to have stopped prematurely for me after lasting for 2 days. Normally I'd expect it to go on a bit longer, I'd usually get at least 3 days proper bleeding as well as extra days of spotting. I'm also now feeling exhausted and sick which isn't normal for me post-AF. It's just playing on my mind that what I thought was AF could have been an implantation bleed, but it was heavier than I'd expect for that, just short. May test again tomorrow to play safe. The other explanation (more likely?) I suppose is that my hormones are out of whack following my MC last cycle.

Brenna glad your bean is bedding in, hope you feel better soon.

jpeg28 · 25/04/2016 20:40

Is this your first cycle since MC Luckyinoctober? It could be just irregular maybe? But a test tomorrow would definitely tell you either way. My first af is the opposite, 4 days so far and no sign or stopping which is unusual for me... assuming I'll be a littler but all over the place for a few months. Good luck!

AmyB1986 · 25/04/2016 22:59

Lucky I know some implantation bleeding can be mistaken for af, it's quite common actually being as I've experienced it myself. With dd2 I had a period, well what I thought was a period actually turned out to be implantation bleeding that went on for two days. I thought I was around 11-12 weeks pregnant when I went for my scan, turned out I was 14+5! I'd test again and see, if it's bfn then it could be as you say.

I've been reading about these clear blue advanced thingys. I now know I'm not picking up pregnancy hormones but I am picking up the secondary estrogen surge that happens late in the luteal phase whether you're pregnant or not, it can cause odd temperature fluctuations at this stage too mainly lower temps. If it was a solid smiley however it would be a different story as lh and hcg are only one molecule different, hcg can be misread as a lh surge on opk's. So there you go, mystery solved and learned something new as well Smile

Brenna24 · 25/04/2016 23:45

Lucky many people have a bleed of a day or two and think they have had a short period but are in fact pregnant. Let us know how it goes in the morning. I have everything crossed for you.

Amy that is interesting.

I still have a bad lurgy and had a bit more bleeding this afternoon. Mild cramps on and off. I've been in bed for a day and a half and am going mad now.

OP posts:
Brenna24 · 26/04/2016 07:08

The bleeding is a lot heavier this morning. I think it is turning into a full blown miscarriage. I can't believe it. 11 months, 2 or maybe 3 pregnancies (I think something similar happened a couple of days earlier on christmas eve) and I am no further forward. Going to phone the Dr today and get the ball rolling on investigations.

So sorry to hear that Brenna :(

AmyB1986 · 26/04/2016 07:59

So sorry to hear Brenna Thanks

InsufficientlyCaffeinated · 26/04/2016 08:54

Oh Brenna I'm so sorry. I hope your doctor can get the ball rolling with investigations quickly. Flowers

AF arrived for me this morning right on schedule.

Clarity77 · 26/04/2016 09:22

Dear all,
Really sorry to read about all of your struggles. My sympathies Brenna.
It amazes me that 3 miscarriages are required for any sort of basic investigation. I'm realising quickly that you can't take any pregnancy for granted.
For me, ttc month 4 now after my missed miscarriage at 12 weeks in January (baby stopped growing at 8).
It has focused my mind reading your thread and made me feel a little bit more normal than the obsessed woman that I am turning into. Miscarriage leaves you with an animalistic desire to be pregnant again.
Cd 5 today, hoping to try some new strategies this month and get a BFP soon.

I have been to the Drs. The test there was still positive but she did say there was a lot of blood (poor woman had to test red sludge instead of a wee sample). I am to do a test at home in a weeks time and if that is negative then she has a referral letter written and ready to send already. Ours is a big teaching hospital and they have quite a lot of research going on, so they are very proactive, so I have quite a lot of hope for that - plus a lot of the fertility research goes on in the same department I work in, so I can go and kick some butts if required. Wink Grin Plus my Drs are pretty good and switched on and quick to refer and follow up on things.

Brenna I really have everything crossed for a positive outcome. Your Drs sound great, mine is awful but I can't change surgeries as they're even worse!

Clarity welcome and sorry for your losses.

I feel so sick today and dizzy it's horrible. Pushed on and cleaned the whole house though. I've arranged to go out for coffee with my friend as well hoping the fresh air will do me some good.
Had an upsetting shift at work yesterday, my colleague and friend was going to be an auntie but her sister lost her baby at the weekend at 15 weeks. She had a scan on Tuesday which was positive and everything looked good then Saturday it all changed. I'm so so sad for her, she had a cancer scar (cervical) last year and this was her miracle. I couldn't cry for her at work so I did when I got home. I really want to send her a message but I just don't know what to say. Maybe I'll just send her a heart emoji to let her know I'm thinking of her and her partner.

Clarity77 · 26/04/2016 11:48

Mrs - thank you, I have ovulated on cd 13 the last few months. This month I am trying some of the boots fertility lubricant. Just started taking my temperature too but keep forgetting when I wake up and keep moving about before I remember. Keep wondering whether we should try dtd every other day or every day in fertile period. Conflicting information on which is best. Broadly have followed the SMEP plan but keep having a weeks gap or so after ovulation so I'm going to try sustaining things a bit this month. Just in case.
Brenna- I know it will be a long week for you. Not knowing is the worst. You do read of women bleeding a lot through pregnancy. I clung to these stories when I had my miscarriage but I guess you have to be realistic too. You are still sounding motivated and I hope you can sustain this and get all the help you need.
Amy- thanks for the welcome, so much sadness around. It's funny how you don't notice these things most of the time but once you really understand it, you realise how common miscarriage is. It's always around us.

Brenna24 · 26/04/2016 11:56

Sick and dizzy is a good sign Amy. I was very dizzy with my first pregnancy. I am so sorry about your friend. It is such a lottery, the whole process. Sad

Welcome clarity. Sorry you are here.

Llindsey85 · 26/04/2016 12:27

Oh Brenna, I'm so sorry Sad

Had just seen the good news, only to flick over and see the worst news.

Fingers crossed the docs can do some investigations now but try to remember it could be just one of these things and the next time will be the sticky one.

Take care of yourself

x

AmyB1986 · 26/04/2016 13:52

Brenna I had it with all of my pregnancies apart from the last one, I only started to have the dizziness when I was miscarrying. It was the only symptom I recognised with dd1 and dd2 but it doesn't feel the same. This is like the floor is dropping from under my feet for a few seconds, like turbulence on a plane. Really strange.
I don't know what's going on with the nausea, I ate something and it went off.

Clarity that is so true. It happens to so many people but still no one talks about it.

Been out for coffee with my friend, had a lovely catch up and I didn't buy anything when I walked past the shops, bonus! But there were some lovely handbags calling my name through the window of tk max Confused

jpeg28 · 26/04/2016 14:22

Brenna I am so so sorry and I'm keeping everything crossed for you. I hope at least your doctors can provide some answers for you.

amy1986 I'm sorry for what you are going through... And hope the dizziness goes away, maybe a BFP is round the corner??

Welcome clarity77 I'm also on cd5! I'm going to try the SMEP this month but my pesky period is not stopping!

Brenna24 · 26/04/2016 14:46

Have you ever had positional vertigo Amy? That sounds a bit like that. Well done on not buying any handbags.

Thanks all. I potted up some leek seedlings, then went to bed exhausted. DDog fell asleep supervising but woke up to dash into the picture at the end and claim his portion of the work.
